Abstract
PURPOSE:To determine the calcium in an organism sample simply, quickly, and accurately, by providng the coexistence state by putting citric acid or citrate in orthocresolphthaleincomplexon, and measuring the coloration of the calcium. CONSTITUTION:The calcium in the organism sample is determined by measuring the coloration of the orthocresolphthaleincomplexon and the calcium. In this method, the reagent, which is prepared in such a way that the concentration of the citric acid, citrate, or their mixture becomes preferably about 0.01M- 0.05M/l, is used in the coloration reaction of the orthocresolphthaleincomplexon and the calcium, and the calcium in the organism sample is determined. As for the calcium determining reagent wherein orthocresolphthaleincomplexon is used as a coloring agent, since the reagent composition itself, which is usually employed, can be used in a intact state, the circuit acid, the citrate, or their mixture can be added in the final coloration liquid so that concentration of the citric acid becomes 0.01-0.05M/l.
