CONSTITUTION: On the occasion of carrying out electrodialysis of aluminum and beryllium from nonaqueous solution, trifluoro-aluminum acetate or aluminum nitrate, is used for aluminum electrodialysis and trifluoro-beryllium acetate or beryllium acetate, is used for beryllium electrodialysis as the electrolyte of electrolytic bath. Organic solvent is in common with both metals and methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, acetonitrile, formamide and ethylene glycol, are used for the above organic solvent. Further, sodium perchlorate, trifluoropotassium acetate etc. are added to the organic solvent in order to heighten the cathode current efficiency and also, aluminum powder, vinyl acetate, are able to add also. Condition of the electrodialysis is as follows, temperature of electrolytic bath; room temperature W50°C, current density; 0.5W30A/dm2. Aluminum and platinum plate are used as anode for aluminum electrodialysis and beryllium and platinum plate are used as anode for beryllium electrodialysis.
