Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain insulation carrier having stable triboelectric characteristics and excelling in durability, by covering the surface of nucleus particle for carrier with specified coating agent made of silicone resin and nitrogen-containing resin.
CONSTITUTION: Using a mixture of silicone varnish of molecular weight 300W 500,000 such as formula III(Mw≈2000) or formula IV(Mw≈50,000) of cold curing silicone resin of which curing temperature is less than about 100°C (preferably about 20W25°C), for example as shown in formula I, II (X, Y are H, halogen, hydroxy, methyl, methoxy; Z is methoxy, lower alkyl) and nitrogen-containing resin having positive charge characteristics as shown in formula V(Mw≈500,000) or formula VI(150,000), the carrier nucleus particle (grain size should be preferably 30W1000μ) is covered by about 0.1W20μ, thus forming a carrier. Said carrier is mixed with toner (for example, styrene resin + carbon black) to obtain a developer.
