Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the magnetic characteristics such as coecive force and residual magnetic flux density of a permanent magnetic alloy based on rare earth elements, Co, fe, Ni, Cu and Mn by replacing all or part of the Cu with Ag and adding various elements.
CONSTITUTION: A permanent magnet contg. one or more kinds of rare earth elements such as Sc, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd and Sm, and one or more kinds of transition metals such as Co, Fe, Ni and Mn part of which is replaced with Cu. Part or all of the Cu is replaced with Ag, and one or more out of Ta, Zr, Nb, Cr, V, Ti, Mo, Si, Zn, Sn, Hf, Al, Mg and S may be added. Mixed raw material of the above compsn. is molded, sintered at 1050W1300°C, and aged at 700W950°C to obtain a permanent magnet with superior magnetic characteristics such as high coercive force and residual magnetic flux density.
