Abstract

PURPOSE: To readily and accurately adjust a magnetic tape independently with respect to the width direction, azimuth, etc. of a magnetic tape by using adjusting means of position and angles with make use of elastic deformations.
CONSTITUTION: When a first screw 4 is tightened where a second screw 5 is held tightened, a constricted part 6 elastically deforms and an approximately U-form portion 10 is drawn to the head lock substrate 2 side and therefore a magnetic head 13 goes closer to the substrate 2 side. Conversely, when the screw 4 is loosened and the screw 5 is tightened, its end pushes the substrate 2 and therefore the constricted part 6 elastically deforms and the substrate 2 is brought away from the head mounting substrate 1. The head 13 also goes away from the substrate 1. Next, when the screw 7 for azimuth adjustment is loosened and screw 8 is tightened, the tapered end part pushes the corner of the head 13 and the constricted part 9 elastically deforms causing its end part 11 to tilt and the azimuth of the head 13 to the magnetic tape 14 to change. When the above are made reverse, the azimuth changes in the reverse direction as well.
