Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an exhaust pipe of a combustion heater from being blocked through water freezing, which heater is used for an air conditioner of an electric car. SOLUTION: An exhaust pipe 9 is arranged in a longitudinal direction of a vehicular body for discharging exhaust gas from a burning heater 3 mounted on a front side of a vehicular body to the rear side. The lowermost point of the pipe is located at the front side compared to a center portion of the pipe in the longitudinal direction. A water discharging hole is formed on the lowermost point. The exhaust gas discharged from the burning heater 3 is reduced in its temperature in the exhaust pipe 9. Moisture content is condensed to generated water which is discharged from the water discharging hole and headly remains inside the exhaust pipe 9. Even when a small amount of residual water in the exhaust pipe 9 is frozen, the ice is speedily melted because the lowermost point is located at the front side of the exhaust pipe 9 and effectively heated by the burning heater 9, and the pipe 9 is not blocked by the ice.

2. Description of the Related Art In an automobile that runs using an engine as a power source, the interior of the vehicle is heated by a heater that uses a cooling water whose temperature is raised by cooling the engine as a heat source. However, in a so-called electric vehicle that uses an electric motor as a power source, the heat generated by the electric motor is smaller than that of the engine, so that the cabin is heated by a combustion heater that burns fuel such as kerosene. Some automobiles designed for cold regions such as in Northern Europe are equipped with a combustion heater so that heating can be performed even when the operation of the engine is stopped.

When an electric vehicle is equipped with a combustion-type heater of a vehicle equipped with an engine, white smoke discharged from the combustion-type heater while the vehicle is running enters the driver's field of view to improve visibility. Not only may it be reduced or misidentified as a malfunction, but also the smell of the exhaust gas may enter the passenger compartment and impair comfort.

The above problems can be solved by extending the exhaust pipe from the combustion heater mounted on the front part of the vehicle body to the rear part of the vehicle body so that exhaust gas is discharged to the rear part of the vehicle body. However, if an exhaust pipe extending from the front of the vehicle to the rear of the vehicle is provided, water condensed with water vapor contained in the exhaust gas accumulates at the bottom of the exhaust pipe. Has frozen,
There is a problem that the cross-sectional area of the passage of the exhaust pipe is reduced.

According to the first aspect of the present invention, the temperature of the exhaust gas discharged from the combustion heater drops in the exhaust pipe, and the contained steam condenses to produce water. Since the pressure of the exhaust gas from the combustion heater is relatively low, a part of the water that has not been discharged to the outside of the exhaust pipe stays at the lowest point of the exhaust pipe and freezes as the temperature decreases. However, since the lowest point is located at the front of the exhaust pipe and is effectively heated during operation of the combustion type heater, ice frozen at the lowest point of the exhaust pipe melts quickly and blocks the exhaust pipe. Nothing.

As shown in FIG. 1, an electric motor room 2 for housing an electric motor 1 for traveling is provided at a front portion of a body of an electric vehicle V, and a combustion type heater 3 is provided in the electric motor room 2.
Is arranged. The combustion heater 3 circulates hot water heated by burning kerosene through a heat exchanger, and supplies air heated by the hot water passing through the heat exchanger to a vehicle compartment to perform heating. An exhaust manifold 5 extending downward from a heater body 4 of the combustion type heater 3 is connected to an exhaust pipe 9 divided into a front exhaust pipe 6, a central exhaust pipe 7, and a rear exhaust pipe 8. The central exhaust pipe 7 extends in the vehicle front-rear direction along the left side surface of the battery box 10 provided at the lower part of the vehicle body,
The rear exhaust pipe 8 connected to the rear end is a rear axle 11
Is bent so as to bypass the upper part of the rear bumper 12, and its rear end is opened to the lower part of the rear bumper 12. The lowest point where the height of the exhaust pipe 9 is the lowest is set near the front end of the central exhaust pipe 7 which is closer to the combustion heater 3 than the middle part in the front-rear direction of the exhaust pipe 9.

When the combustion type heater 3 is operated to heat the passenger compartment, the exhaust gas is exhausted from the rear end of the exhaust pipe 9 extending to the rear part of the vehicle body. Not only does it not affect comfort, but even if white smoke of exhaust gas is generated when the electric vehicle V is stopped, it is not mistaken as a failure because it does not originate from the front of the vehicle body. . Further, since the entire length of the exhaust pipe 9 is increased, the exhaust discharge noise is reduced, and the exhaust silencer can be eliminated.

When exhaust gas is generated by the operation of the combustion heater 3, water vapor contained in the exhaust gas is condensed and water is generated in the exhaust pipe 9. The pressure of the exhaust gas in the combustion heater 3 is low, and since the rear portion of the exhaust pipe 9 there are upward bent portion 82, the water in the exhaust pipe 9 collects at the lowest point by gravity, the front drainage hole 7 Emitted from one . Temperature of the exhaust pipe 9 is lowered after stop of the operation of the combustion heater 3, further temperature drops below freezing, the water staying in the vicinity of the front drain hole 71 without being discharged in some cases frozen. However, since the lowest point of the exhaust pipe 9 is located near the combustion heater 3, high-temperature exhaust gas is effectively supplied to the freezing portion of the exhaust pipe 9 when the operation of the combustion heater 3 is restarted next time. To quickly melt the ice in the freezing portion to prevent the exhaust pipe 9 from being blocked. Further, when the muddy water or the like during traveling of the electric vehicle V is applied to the exhaust pipe 9, by interrupting the dirty water in the drain hole cover 16 and 20, the clogging of the front drain hole 71 and the rear drain hole 81 to prevent can do.

As described above, according to the first aspect of the present invention, the exhaust pipe for discharging the exhaust gas from the combustion type heater mounted on the front of the vehicle body to the rear of the vehicle body is disposed in the front-rear direction of the vehicle body. Since the lowermost point of the exhaust pipe is located forward of the center in the front-rear direction of the exhaust pipe, it is possible to reduce the influence of white smoke and smell from the exhaust pipe on the driver,
In addition, even if water stays at the lowest point of the exhaust pipe and freezes, the ice can be quickly melted by the heat of the exhaust gas to avoid blockage of the exhaust pipe.
