Description: TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to a photographic printing paper support, and more particularly to a photographic printing paper support in which both sides of a base paper are coated with a resin. The present invention relates to a support for photographic printing paper, which prevents edge stains due to penetration of a developing solution (hereinafter referred to as a developing solution) from the cut surface of a part.

(Prior Art) Conventionally, as a support for photographic paper, so-called baryta paper in which one side of paper is coated with a baryta layer mainly composed of barium sulfate was used, but recently, in order to speed up automation of developing resin. In addition, waterproof photographic printing paper has been used in which both sides of the base paper are coated with resin. However, even when the above waterproof photographic paper is used, it is not possible to prevent the permeation of the developing solution from the cut surface of the edge of the photographic paper. The developer that has penetrated from the cut surface of the edge cannot be removed by a short time photographic processing, and it turns brown due to heat or aging, and becomes a stain on the edge part of the photograph.
Remarkably loses its value as a photograph. In order to prevent this edge stain, a method of giving a high sizing property to the base paper layer has been attempted.

However, under the present circumstances, sufficient sizing properties cannot be obtained even when a higher fatty acid or a salt thereof which is a general sizing agent and an aluminum chloride or a sulfuric acid band which is a fixing agent thereof are used.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) Therefore, an object of the present invention is to use a higher fatty acid or a higher fatty acid salt as a sizing agent to impart high sizing property,
The purpose of this is to prevent the edge stain of the edge of the resin-coated support for photographic printing paper, which is caused when the developer penetrates.

(Means and Actions for Solving Problems) The present inventor has conducted extensive studies to overcome the above-mentioned drawbacks,
The above object has been achieved by containing a higher fatty acid or higher fatty acid salt and polyaluminum hydroxide in the photographic paper support in which both sides of the base paper are coated with a resin.

The higher fatty acid or higher fatty acid salt used in the present invention preferably has 12 to 22 carbon atoms. A fatty acid or a salt thereof having a carbon number of less than 12 has a small size and cannot prevent the invasion of a developing solution. Fatty acids having 22 or more carbon atoms or salts thereof have poor water solubility and are not practical.

If it is less than 0.5% by weight, the size property is low and the invasion of the developer cannot be prevented. Even if added in an amount of more than 2.0% by weight, improvement in size is not recognized, and it is economically disadvantageous.

The polyaluminum hydroxide used in the present invention is preferably one having a structure of {Al (OH) 3 } n.AlCl 3 and n = 20 ± 1. The ratio of polyaluminum hydroxide to the higher fatty acid (salt) is 1/20 to 2/1, preferably 1/10 to 1/1. If the amount is smaller or larger than this range, sufficient size cannot be obtained and the invasion of the developing solution cannot be prevented.

As the cationic wetting power enhancer used in the present invention,
Polyamine polyamide epichlorohydrin is preferred,
The amount of addition is preferably 0.1 to 1.0% by weight based on the absolute dry weight of pulp. If it is less than 0.1% by weight, the effect of improving the sizing property is small, and if it is added in excess of 1.0% by weight, the effect is improved. Can't be seen.

The resin-coated paper produced according to the present invention is produced by a so-called extrusion coating method in which a heat-melted resin is cast on a running base paper in the case of a polyolefin resin, and both surfaces thereof are coated with the resin. In the case of a resin that is cured by an electron beam, the resin is applied by a commonly used coater such as a gravure coater or a blade coater, and then the resin is irradiated with an electron beam to cure and coat the resin.

Next, the surface of this base paper is coated with low-density polyethylene containing 10% titanium oxide, and the back surface is coated with low-density polyethylene / high-density polyethylene = 1/1 at a resin temperature of 330 ° C. with an extrusion coater to a thickness of 30 μm. Then, a support for photographic printing paper was obtained. The edge stain was evaluated by the following method. That is, a photographic printing paper support cut into a width of 8.25 cm was developed by a continuous automatic developing machine (FC Co., Ltd., color roll processor). The penetration depth of the developer from the cut surface of the end of the support after the processing was read using a magnifying glass. The results are shown in Table 1.
