Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a decorative injection-molded article having a unique aesthetic appearance, by a method wherein, a printing is previously applied to a cloth having irregularities etc. on the surface thereof, and using this cloth the irregularities and the printing are simultaneously transferred to the surface of an injection-molded article. CONSTITUTION:Most of printings including a relief printing, a lithographic printing, a silk screen printing, and a multi-color printing can be applied on a cloth, but a simple and economical silk screen printing is particularly preferable. A mold cavity for an injection molding is covered with the cloth in a tense state so that the printed surface thereof is disposed opposed to an injection nozzle. A part of the cloth wound in roll form is fixed by the upper and lower parts outside the mold for the ease of a continuous molding. According to a normal method, a hot melt resin is injected to be fully loaded in the mold cavity. By cooling and setting, a molded article with the cloth applied on the surface is obtained. After the molded article is taken out of the mold, the applied cloth is released. Then, a decorated injection-molded article with the appearance of the printing completely transferred as it is can be obtained.

However, this method has the drawbacks of high mold production costs and is not suitable for low-volume, high-mix production. In addition to shapes and patterns, it is not possible to print subtle or innovative designs on them. There was a problem. If printing is required, - Manufacture the molded product using the mold, etc., and print using secondary processing such as hot stamping, or heat transfer from film or paper that was printed during molding. This method was used.

That is, the present invention provides a decorative injection molded product having an appearance in which both the shape and/or pattern on the cloth surface and the printing applied to the cloth are transferred, and also uses printing as a method for manufacturing the same. Provided is a manufacturing method characterized by injection molding a synthetic resin using an injection mold in which a coated cloth is stretched, and then peeling off the cloth attached to the surface of the molded product. It is something to do.

The cloth used in this case may be a woven fabric, a knitted fabric, a non-woven fabric, a felt fabric, or any of the above fabrics, and the fibers constituting this fabric may be synthetic fibers, natural fibers, or semi-synthetic fibers. Among these fabrics, fabrics with interesting irregularities made of textures or stitches on the surface, or other shapes, or three-dimensionally raised patterns are preferably used.

Fabrics with textures or stitches that allow the resin to get wedged in and solidify, making it difficult to remove, should be avoided, and fabrics with fluff should also not be used, as the resin will stick to the fluff.

Printing on fabric is letterpress printing, planographic printing, intaglio printing,
Although most printing methods such as stencil printing, silk screen printing, and multicolor printing may be used, silk screen printing is particularly preferred because it is simple and economical.

In addition, if the surface of the fabric is extremely difficult to print, it is also possible to first print on a fabric with a flat surface and then line it with a fabric having the desired unevenness, pattern, etc. Also, when the fabric is lace, tape, appliqué, or extremely thin, it is preferable to back the fabric with a relatively rigid fabric.

Next, cover the cavity of the injection mold with the above-mentioned cloth in a taut state with the printed side facing the injection nozzle, and wrap it in a roll at the top and bottom of the outside of the mold to facilitate continuous molding. Fix a part of the fabric. It is also possible to use a method in which the peripheral end is fixed with a sticky cheese adhesive tape, an adhesive, a pressure-sensitive adhesive, or the like so that it can be easily removed after use.

In any case, if you leave the fabric hanging down,
This should be avoided as it will cause the fabric to wrinkle when the mold is set, which will impair the appearance of the molded product. When the mold is engaged in a closed manner, the fabric is tensioned and placed taut within the mold, ready for the mold.

After the fabric-stretched mold is prepared, hot molten resin is injected from an injection nozzle to fill the mold cavity according to a conventional method. When the mixture is then cooled and solidified, a molded article having the above-mentioned cloth attached to the surface is obtained. After or during removal of the molded product from the mold, if the cloth attached to the surface is peeled off, the shape, unevenness, pattern, etc. of the cloth surface, as well as the printing applied to the surface, will be completely transferred. A molded product having the following properties is obtained.

Note that depending on the preferred combination of the shapes of the fabric and the molded article, mold release, that is, peeling of the fabric when taking out the molded article from the mold, may occur at the same time, making continuous production and continuous use of 15 fabrics possible.

Note that the cloth contains air, but this air and the small amount of air remaining in the mold remain in the cloth in a compressed state.
It has the effect of preventing the occurrence of weld lines, silver strokes, marks, etc. that occur in general injection molding. This air-containing cloth also has the effect of facilitating mold release and creating a soft surface.

At this time, it is preferable that the cloth contains moisture, since its effects will be greatly enhanced. This is because water evaporates during demolding, increases the partial pressure, and has a good effect on demolding and surface shape.

It is economical and simple to produce injection molded products that have a textured or tin-like appearance on the cloth surface, the size and shape of threads, etc., and are printed with beautiful and diverse patterns and colors. It has become possible to manufacture it using this method. Furthermore, the molded product of the present invention has the effect of providing not only a simple appearance but also a subtle and soft tactile sensation. In addition, by using fabric, there is no fear of undercuts that were a problem with conventional injection molding using patterned molds, and it has the excellent effect of preventing silver strokes, weld lines, etc. The present invention has.
