バッテリの電圧を昇圧して、インバータを介してモータへ供給するコンバータを含む車両用電力変換装置であって、
コンバータは、
複数の上アームスイッチング素子(12a~12c)を有し、複数の上アームスイッチング素子の少なくとも一つがMOSFETである上アーム(12)と、
上アームスイッチング素子と直接接続された下アームスイッチング素子(13a~13h)がIGBTである下アーム(13)と、
一方の端子がバッテリと接続され、他方の端子が上アームスイッチング素子と下アームスイッチング素子との間に導電部材を介して接続され、電気エネルギーを蓄積且つ放出可能なリアクトル(11、11a、11b)と、を備え、
上アームは、上アームスイッチング素子として、MOSFETである第1上アーム素子に加えて、第1上アーム素子とは異なる他スイッチング素子を有しており、
MOSFETは、他スイッチング素子よりも、リアクトルに近い位置に配置されていることを特徴とする。
本実施形態の車両用電力変換装置に関して、図1、図2、図3を参照しつつ説明する。本実施形態では、車両用電力変換装置をコンバータ10aに適用した例を採用する。コンバータ10aは、電気自動車やハイブリッド車等の車両に搭載可能に構成されている。よって、コンバータ10aは、車載用コンバータ10aや、車載用電力変換装置10aと言い換えることができる。
図4、図5を用いて、本実施形態の車両用電力変換装置に関して説明する。本実施形態は、制御部50の構成、及び上アーム素子12a、12bの駆動方法が第1実施形態と異なる。さらに、本実施形態では、第2上アーム素子12b1として、RC-IGBTを採用している点が第1実施形態と異なる。RC-IGBTである第2上アーム素子12b1は、第2上スイッチング部S121と、還流ダイオードとしての第2上ダイオード部D121とを含んでいる。
図6を用いて、本実施形態の車両用電力変換装置に関して説明する。特に、本実施形態では、車両用電力変換装置におけるパワーモジュール100に関して説明する。本実施形態は、第1上アーム素子12aと第1下アーム素子13aとがパッケージ化されている点が第1実施形態と異なる。
図7を用いて、本実施形態の車両用電力変換装置に関して説明する。本実施形態は、上アーム12と下アーム13の構成が第1実施形態と異なる。
図8、図9を用いて、本実施形態の車両用電力変換装置に関して説明する。本実施形態は、対をなす上アーム素子12a、12bと下アーム素子13a、13bの相が複数相備えている点が第1実施形態と異なる。また、本実施形態は、各アーム素子12a、12b、13a、13bと、リアクトル11a、11bとの位置関係が第1実施形態と異なる。
図10を用いて、本実施形態の車両用電力変換装置に関して説明する。本実施形態は、各アーム素子12a、12b、13a、13bと、リアクトル11a、11bとの位置関係が第5実施形態と異なる。
図11を用いて、本実施形態の車両用電力変換装置に関して説明する。本実施形態は、下アーム素子13d、13eの構成が第1実施形態と異なる。
図12を用いて、本実施形態の車両用電力変換装置に関して説明する。本実施形態は、上アーム素子12a、12bの個数(素子数)と、下アーム素子13f、13g、13hの個数とを相違させている点が第7実施形態と異なる。また、本実施形態は、上アーム12の構成が第7実施形態と異なる。
図13を用いて、本実施形態の車両用電力変換装置に関して説明する。特に、本実施形態では、車両用電力変換装置におけるパワーモジュール110に関して説明する。パワーモジュール110は、上感温ダイオード16a、下感温ダイオード16bを備えている点がパワーモジュール100と異なる。なお、パワーモジュール110は、下感温ダイオード16bを備えていなくてもよい。

前記上アームは、前記上アームスイッチング素子として、前記MOSFETである第1上アーム素子に加えて、前記第1上アーム素子とは異なる他スイッチング素子を有しており、

さらに、前記MOSFETを駆動する第1駆動部(51)と、前記第1駆動部とは異なり、前記上アームスイッチング素子である前記IGBTを駆動する第2駆動部(52)と、を備えている請求項1または2に記載の車両用電力変換装置。 - 前記下アームは、前記下アームスイッチング素子である前記IGBTとして、RC‐IGBTを備えている請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の車両用電力変換装置。
- 前記MOSFETと前記RC‐IGBTとは、一つのパッケージとして構成されている請求項4に記載の車両用電力変換装置。
- 前記上アームスイッチング素子は、温度センサ(16a)を有している請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項に記載の車両用電力変換装置。
- 前記下アームは、複数の前記下アームスイッチング素子を有しており、
前記上アームスイッチング素子は、前記下アームスイッチング素子よりも素子数が少ない請求項1乃至6のいずれか1項に記載の車両用電力変換装置。 - 前記MOSFETは、ワイドバンドギャップ半導体を主成分として構成されている請求項1乃至7のいずれか1項に記載の車両用電力変換装置。
- 前記上アームは、前記上アームスイッチング素子が全てMOSFETである請求項1乃至8のいずれか1項に記載の車両用電力変換装置。
