Claims (12)
- 頭部(4)と、
前記頭部(4)から延伸する胴部(6)であって、円筒状の外面を有する胴部(6)と、
外側突出部(8a)を備える嵌合部(8)と、
前記胴部(6)と前記嵌合部(8)との間に配置された移行部(10)と
を備える締め具(2)であって、
前記移行部(10)が、胴部/導入部交差部(22)で前記胴部と接触する第1のアール導入部分(12)と、前記第1のアール導入部分と接触する第2のアール導入部分(16)とを備え、前記第1のアール導入部分(12)が、前記嵌合部(8)に向かって第1の軸方向に徐々に湾曲しており、第1の半径を有する円弧である第1の外形を有し、前記第2のアール導入部分(16)が、前記第1の軸方向に急激に湾曲し、前記第1の半径より小さな第2の半径を有する円弧である第2の外形を有し、
前記嵌合部(8)が、前記第2のアール導入部分(16)の最小直径より小さな最大直径を有する、締め具(2)。 - 前記第1の外形が、前記締め具(2)の中心軸線(26)と交差する平面における前記第1のアール導入部分(12)の外面の形状であり、前記第2の外形が、前記締め具(2)の前記中心軸線(26)と交差する前記平面における前記第2のアール導入部分(16)の外面の形状である、請求項1に記載の締め具(2)。
- 前記締め具(2)の前記中心軸線(26)と交差する前記平面における前記胴部(6)の外形が、前記第1の外形と接する、請求項2に記載の締め具(2)。
- 第1の孔を有する第1の構造と、第2の孔を有する第2の構造とを固定する方法であって、前記第1の孔及び前記第2の孔が同じ孔径を有し、
前記第1の孔と前記第2の孔とが整列した状態で、前記第1の構造と前記第2の構造とを共に配置するステップと、
前記第1の構造における前記第1の孔の縁部が、嵌合部(8)に向かって徐々にテーパ状になっている前記締め具のアール導入部分と接触し、この部分を取り囲むまで、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の締め具(2)の前記嵌合部(8)を前記第1の孔に挿入するステップであって、前記締め具(2)が、前記孔径より大きな胴部直径を有するステップと、
前記胴部(6)を前記第1の孔の前記縁部と接触させ、前記第1の孔を通るように押し込み、その後前記締め具(2)の前記嵌合部(8)が前記第2の構造を超えて突出するまで、前記第2の孔を通るように押し込むために、前記第1の構造及び前記第2の構造における整列させた前記孔に前記締め具(2)をさらに押し込むステップと、
嵌合部品(36、42)を前記締め具(2)の前記嵌合部(8)に結合させるステップと
を含む方法。 - 前記胴部(6)と前記第1の孔との間の締めしろの量が、0.01016cm(0.004インチ)以下である、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記嵌合部品が、カラーねじれ素子(36b)に最初は接続されているカラー(36a)であり、前記カラー(36a)を前記締め具(2)の前記嵌合部(8)に結合させるステップが、前記カラー(36)を前記嵌合部(8)に螺合させるステップと、その後に前記カラーねじれ素子(36b)が壊れて外れるのに十分な前負荷が生じるまで締め付けるステップとを含む、請求項4又は5に記載の方法。
- 前記嵌合部品がカラー(42)であり、前記カラー(42)を前記締め具(2)の前記嵌合部(8)に結合させるステップが、前記カラー(42)をかしめるステップを含む、請求項4又は5に記載の方法。
- 前記アール導入部分の最大直径が、前記胴部(6)の直径と等しく、前記アール導入部分の最小直径が、前記第1の孔及び前記第2の孔の直径より小さい、請求項5から7のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 第1の孔を有する第1の構造要素と、前記第1の構造要素における前記第1の孔と整列した第2の孔を有する第2の構造要素と、包囲スリーブを有することなく、前記第1の構造要素における前記第1の孔と前記第2の構造要素における第2の孔との少なくともそれぞれの部分を占めて、前記第2の構造要素を超えて延伸する請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の締め具(34、40)と、前記第2の構造要素と当接し、かつ前記締め具(34、40)と結合する嵌合部品(36、42)とを備える組立体。
- 前記第1の構造要素及び前記第2の構造要素のうちの一方が複合構造(30)であり、前記第1の構造要素及び前記第2の構造要素のうちの他方が金属構造(32)である、請求項9に記載の組立体。
- 前記嵌合部品(36、42)が、前記締め具(34、40)の前記嵌合部(8)における前記外側突出部と相互係合する内側ねじ山を備える、請求項9又は10に記載の組立体。
- 前記嵌合部品(36、42)が、前記締め具(34、40)の前記嵌合部(8)における前記外側突出部と相互係合するかしめカラー(42)を備える、請求項9から11のいずれか一項に記載の組立体。
