Claims (10)
- 外周部に複数のフィンを有し燃焼室を形成するシリンダと、
駆動軸の一端に設けられ前記シリンダを冷却する冷却ファンと、
前記シリンダの排気ポートに取り付けられるマフラーと、
前記マフラーを覆ってマフラー収納室を形成するマフラーカバーを有し、
前記マフラーカバーには冷却風入口と冷却風出口が形成され、前記冷却風入口から前記マフラー収納室内に前記冷却ファンにより生成される冷却風の一部を導入してマフラーを冷却するエンジンであって、
前記マフラーと前記マフラーカバーとの間に遮熱板を介在させるとともに、
前記冷却風入口が、前記駆動軸の軸方向で前記冷却ファンと重なり、且つ、前記マフラーの上下方向範囲内の位置に設けられ、前記冷却ファンにより生成される冷却風の一部は、前記シリンダを介さずに前記冷却風入口に到達し、前記冷却風入口から導入された冷却風が、前記マフラーと前記遮熱板との間を流れるように構成したことを特徴とするエンジン。 - 前記冷却風出口を前記マフラー収納室の上端付近に設けてエンジン停止時の自然空冷の流れを冷却風出口から外部に放出可能に形成されるように配置し、
前記冷却風入口を前記冷却風出口より下方に配置したことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエンジン。 - 前記冷却風入口は、前記マフラー収納室において前記冷却風出口と対角付近に配置され、
前記マフラー収納室内に導入される冷却風の少なくとも一部が、前記マフラーの下部を冷却した後に前記冷却風出口に向かうように流れることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のエンジン。 - 前記冷却ファンを覆うファンカバーを設け、前記ファンカバーによって前記冷却風を前記マフラー収納室に導く導入通路を形成したことを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載のエンジン。
- 前記遮熱板は、前記マフラーと前記シリンダの間に、前記マフラーの前記シリンダに面する側面部よりも大きな面積を有して設けられることを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載のエンジン。
- 前記遮熱板に、前記マフラーの上壁部と前記マフラーカバーの上壁部の間に介在するように延在する上壁部を形成し、前記遮熱板の上壁部によって冷却通路の上方に到達する冷却風を前記冷却風出口に向かうよう案内することを特徴とする請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載のエンジン。
- 前記遮熱板に、前記マフラーの下壁部と前記マフラーカバーの下壁部の間に介在するように延在する下壁部を形成し、前記遮熱板の下壁部によって冷却通路の下方を流れる冷却風を前記冷却風出口に向かうよう案内することを特徴とする請求項6に記載のエンジン。
- 前記マフラー収納室の前記冷却風出口が位置する壁部において、前記冷却風出口が唯一の開口となるように前記マフラーカバーが形成されることを特徴とする請求項7に記載のエンジン。
- 前記遮熱板の前記上壁部と前記下壁部は、前記マフラーカバーの内壁と当接するように設けられることを特徴とする請求項7又は8に記載のエンジン。
- 請求項1から9のいずれか一項に記載のエンジンを備えたことを特徴とするエンジン作業機。
