Description
ここでRは送信側と受信側間の伝送距離、cは光速度、xは測定装置での遅延である。基地局間の距離が大きければこの式1はR/cできまる。無線電磁波は光速で、すなわちほぼ1フィート/ナノ秒、すなわち3×108m/sで伝播する。基地局間の同期化の目的はそれら基地局を1−3マイクロ秒以内で整合させることである。それゆえ、基地局間の距離が1/2マイル(1km)以上であると、その距離が重要になる。しかしながら、間隔が数十メートルのピコセルまたはマイクロセルについては、重要である測定精度xと比較してその距離の重要性は低い。
この値と測定値の差時間ベースの不整合を示すインジケータとなることになる。当業者には明かなことであるが、ピコサイズのセルについてそうであるように距離r1とr2が充分に小さいとすればそれらの値を知る必要はないことになる。観測された到達時間の差は電磁波の時間差の目安として直接に使うことが出来る。

Claims (4)
- 無線回路網コントローラ(RNC)において実施される無線通信システム内の複数の基地局を時間同期する方法であって、
同期化バーストに関連付けられたタイミングの指示をマスタセルに送信するステップであって、当該同期化バーストは、他のセルよりも良い時間同期品質を有する前記マスタセル以外の他のセルから送られ、かつ前記マスタセルによって測定されるものである、ステップと、
前記マスタセルから基地局到達時間(BSTOA)値を受信するステップと、
前記マスタセル以外の前記少なくとも1つのセルにタイミング調整を送信するステップと
を備える方法。 - 前記無線回路網コントローラ(RNC)が、共分散マトリクスのデータベースを更新するステップを更に備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 同期化バーストに関連付けられたタイミングの指示をマスタセルに送信するように構成された回路であって、当該同期化バーストは、他のセルよりも良い時間同期品質を有する前記マスタセル以外の他のセルから送られ、かつ前記マスタセルによって測定されるものである、回路と、
前記マスタセルから基地局到達時間(BSTOA)値を受信するように構成された回路と、
前記マスタセル以外の前記少なくとも1つのセルにタイミング調整を送信するように構成された回路と
を備える無線回路網コントローラ(RNC)。 - 共分散マトリクスのデータベースを更新するように構成された回路を更に備えることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の無線回路網コントローラ(RNC)。
