Description
ここでRは送信側と受信側間の伝送距離、cは光速度、xは測定装置での遅延である。基地局間の距離が大きければこの式1はR/cできまる。無線電磁波は光速で、すなわちほぼ1フィート/ナノ秒、すなわち3×108m/sで伝播する。基地局間の同期化の目的はそれら基地局を1−3マイクロ秒以内で整合させることである。それゆえ、基地局間の距離が1/2マイル(1km)以上であると、その距離が重要になる。しかしながら、間隔が数十メートルのピコセルまたはマイクロセルについては、重要である測定精度xと比較してその距離の重要性は低い。
この値と測定値の差時間ベースの不整合を示すインジケータとなることになる。当業者には明かなことであるが、ピコサイズのセルについてそうであるように距離r1とr2が充分に小さいとすればそれらの値を知る必要はないことになる。観測された到達時間の差は電磁波の時間差の目安として直接に使うことが出来る。

Claims (9)
- 無線回路網コントローラ(RNC)において実施される、複数の基地局の同期を維持するための方法であって、
共分散マトリクスおよびデータベースを更新するステップと、
第1の基地局の時間誤差分散が所定の閾値を超えたことを検出するステップと、
ユーザ装置(UE)に対し、前記第1の基地局から送信される信号とリファレンス基地局から送信される信号との間の到達時間の差(TDOA)を測定するように指示する信号を送信するステップと、
前記到達時間の差(TDOA)の測定値を受信するステップと、
前記到達時間の差(TDOA)の測定値を、前記データベースに記憶される値と比較するステップと、
前記比較に基づいて、送信タイミングを調節するためのメッセージを前記第1の基地局に送信するステップと
を備える方法。 - 前記共分散マトリクスは前記無線回路網コントローラ(RNC)と関連付けられた各基地局の状態推算値を保持し、前記状態推算値は、リファレンス、各時間誤差の変化率、及び基地局ペア間の送信遅延に対する各基地局の時間誤差を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記データベースは、前に受信された前記到達時間の差(TDOA)の測定値と、複数の基地局それぞれのタイムリファレンス、時間変化率と、を保持することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記到達時間の差(TDOA)の測定値と、前記データベースに記憶される到達時間の差(TDOA)の値との差異が、所定の到達時間の差(TDOA)の閾値を超えているかどうかを判定するステップと、
前記差異が前記所定の到達時間の差(TDOA)の閾値を超えている場合、前記第1の基地局に調整メッセージを送信するステップと
を更に備えることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の方法。 - 前記調整の報告は、送信された前記調整メッセージに従って前記第1の基地局の送信タイミングが調整されたことを含み、
前記調整に従って前記データベース及び共分散マトリクスを更新するステップ
をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の方法。 - 前記リファレンス基地局は、ノードBにおける主基地局であり、前記第1の基地局は、前記主基地局にスレーブされることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。
- ノードBを構成する基地局の同期を維持する無線回路網コントローラ(RNC)であって、
無線回路網コントローラ(RNC)は、
リファレンス、各時間誤差の変化率、及び基地局ペア間の送信遅延に対する各基地局の時間誤差を含む状態推算値であって、複数の基地局のそれぞれの前記状態推算値を保持するように構成される共分散マトリクスであって、データベース内にある共分散マトリクスと、
第1の基地局及びリファレンス基地局から送信された信号間の受信した到達時間の差(TDOA)の測定値を保持するように構成される前記データベースと、
測定要求メッセージを生成して送信するように構成されるメッセージ生成部と、
到達時間の差(TDOA)の測定値を受信して処理するように構成される測定値受信装置と、
受信した到達時間の差(TDOA)の測定値に基づいて、前記基地局のそれぞれの送信時間及び利得を計算し、かつ受信した到達時間の差(TDOA)の測定値と、前記データベースに格納された到達時間の差(TDOA)との差分が予め定められた閾値を超えているかどうかを判別するように構成されており、前記共分散マトリクス及び前記データベースと通信する同期化コントローラと
を備え、
前記メッセージ生成部は、さらに、受信した到達時間の差(TDOA)の測定値と、前記データベースに格納された到達時間の差(TDOA)との間の判別した差分に従って、調整を要求する基地局に調整メッセージを生成して送信するように構成される
ことを特徴とする無線回路網コントローラ(RNC)。 - 前記測定値受信装置は、送信された調整メッセージに応じた報告メッセージであって、調整が前記基地局によりなされたことを含む報告メッセージを受信して処理するようにさらに構成されることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の無線回路網コントローラ(RNC)。
- 前記同期化コントローラは、前記共分散マトリクス内の状態推算値を更新し、かつ、受信した前記到達時間の差(TDOA)の値で前記データベースを更新するようにさらに構成されることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の無線回路網コントローラ(RNC)。
