Claims (1)
- エンジン本体(33)が、クランクケース(35)と、該クランクケース(35)に連なるシリンダブロック(38R)と、前記クランクケース(35)とは反対側で前記シリンダブロック(38R)に結合されるシリンダヘッド(39R)とを備え、機関弁(44,45)の作動態様を変更し得る油圧式の弁作動態様変更機構(63,64)が付設される動弁装置(48R)の一部を構成するカムシャフト(57,58)が前記シリンダヘッド(39R)に回転自在に支承され、前記クランクケース(35)に回転自在に支承されるクランクシャフト(36)に設けられる駆動スプロケット(94)と、前記カムシャフト(57,58)の一端部に設けられる被動スプロケット(282)とに無端状のカムチェーン(99)が巻き掛けられ、前記弁作動態様変更機構(63,64)に作用せしめる油圧を制御する動弁用油圧制御装置(221)が前記エンジン本体(33)に付設される小型車両用エンジンであって、
前記動弁用油圧制御装置(221)が前記カムシャフト(57,58)の軸線に沿う方向で前記カムチェーン(99)とは反対側で前記エンジン本体(33)の側面に取付けられるものにおいて、
前記シリンダヘッド(39R)のうち、前記カムシャフト(57,58)の前記被動スプロケット(282)が設けられる一端部とは反対の他端側の側面には、前記シリンダブロック(38R)および前記シリンダヘッド(39R)の結合面(284)近傍のシリンダヘッド(39R)端部よりも内方に凹む凹部(285)が形成され、
前記動弁用油圧制御装置(221)がその一部を前記凹部(285)に収容させるようにして前記シリンダヘッド(39R)の前記側面に取付けられ、
前記動弁用油圧制御装置(221)およびオイルポンプ(209)間を結ぶ油路(215,265,266)の少なくとも一部(266)が、前記シリンダブロック(38R)に形成されるシリンダボア(42)の軸線に沿う方向から見て前記動弁用油圧制御装置(221)と重なるようにして、前記凹部(285)よりも前記クランクシャフト(36)側で前記シリンダヘッド(39R)および前記シリンダブロック(38R)に形成されることを特徴とする小型車両用エンジン。
