Claims (1)
- 基端寄り部分に回転トルクを伝達可能に軸を嵌合するため雌セレーションが形成された内周面を備えた結合筒部、
上記結合筒部に形成され、上記内周面に貫通する切り割り、
上記切り割りを挟んで上記結合筒部と一体に設けられた一対のフランジ部、
上記内周面とは反対側で、上記結合筒部と一体に設けられ、十字軸を軸支するための軸受け孔を有する一対の結合アーム部、
上記結合筒部の内周面に挿入され、上記雌セレーションに係合して結合筒部の内周面に回転トルクを伝達可能に内嵌する雄セレーションを備えた外周面を有する軸、
上記一対のフランジ部に形成された同心のボルト孔にボルト軸部が内嵌され、上記一対のフランジ部の間の切り割りの間隔を狭めて、上記結合筒部の内周面を縮径し、上記軸の外周面を結合筒部の内周面で締め付けるボルト、及び、
上記ボルトにねじ込まれるナット、
を備えたステアリング装置における自在継手であって、
上記ボルト頭部の下面、及び、上記ナットの下面のそれぞれに当接する上記フランジ部の各座面は、このボルトにより上記軸の外周面が上記結合筒部の内周面で締め付けられた状態で、上記ボルト孔の各軸線に対して直交するように形成されたものであり、これにより、上記ボルトにはほとんど曲げ応力がかかることなく引っ張り応力だけが作用するようにしたこと
を特徴とする自在継手。
