Description
図9は従来の排気集合部の基本構成を説明する図であり、排気管集合部100は、穴あきキャップ101と、この穴あきキャップ101に接続されている絞り管102と、この絞り管102の出口に設けられているフランジ103とからなる。
上記構成要素のうち、絞り管102は入口が大径で、出口が小径であって、内断面積が徐々に減少する筒体である。
穴あきキャップ101は、形状が複雑であるため、次図で詳しく説明する。
図11は図9の11部拡大図であり、ソケット部107よりもスカート部105が外方(図左)へ変位しているため、排気管108の先端(下端)と絞り管102の上端とスカート部105とで囲まれた部分に、コ字断面のポケット部111ができる。
また、第1の流れ112よりも少し中心寄りの第2の流れ113は、絞り管102の内面に衝突し、蛇行する。この蛇行は流れの乱れを引き起こし、排気ガスの円滑な流れに悪影響を及ぼす。
図1は本発明に係る排気集合部を含む多気筒エンジンの排気系の斜視図であり、想像線で示す多気筒エンジン10から、例えば4本の排気管11が延ばされ、これらの排気管11の先端が、排気集合部12でまとめられている。
ソケット部18からスカート部17が一直線に延びているため、この部位を流れる排気は円滑に流れる。すなわち、ソケット部18とスカート部17との間に有害なポケット部が存在しないため、渦流れは発生しない。
図3に戻って、好ましくは、ソケット部18と絞り管14の内面21とを平行にする。
ソケット部18とスカート部17の内面とを平行にしたため、この部位を流れる排気は円滑に流れる。すなわち、ソケット部18を流れた排気がスカート部17の内面21に衝突する心配はなく、渦流は発生しない。
図5はブランク材の準備からソケット部の塑性加工までを説明する図であり、(a)でレーザービームなどの切断手段で多角形状に切断したブランク材23を準備し、(b)でブランク材23を絞り成形する。この絞り成形で、一般面16から上方へ膨張する突起部24、24を形成する。
図7は図3の別実施例を説明する図であり、穴あきキャップ13の下端にフランジ部27を設け、絞り管14の上端にフランジ部28を設け、2つのフランジ部27、28を合わせて、溶接する。
すなわち、穴あきキャップ13と絞り管14とはフランジ部27、28で接続することや、図3に示すように差し込みにより接続しても良い。
すなわち、多気筒エンジンの排気集合部は、2本以上の排気管を備える、多気筒エンジンに好適であり、気筒数は任意である。
Claims (3)
- 多気筒エンジンの複数本の排気管を、1本に集合させる排気集合部において、
この排気集合部は、穴あきキャップと、この穴あきキャップに接続されている絞り管とからなり、
前記穴あきキャップは、一般面と、この一般面の縁から前記絞り管側に塑性加工で折り曲げ形成されたスカート部と、前記排気管を挿入するために前記一般面からバーリング法で張り出し成形された複数のソケット部とからなり、
隣り合う前記ソケット部は、前記一般面を介して離れて配置され、且つ前記多気筒エンジン側へ広がるV字を呈するように非平行に設けられ、
前記ソケット部の一部と前記スカート部の一部とが、一直線になるように、前記スカート部が塑性加工により曲げられていることを特徴とする多気筒エンジンの排気集合部。 - 前記ソケット部は、ソケット部のほぼ半周が、前記スカート部と一直線になっていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の多気筒エンジンの排気集合部。
- 前記ソケット部のほぼ半周に、前記絞り管の内面を平行にしたことを特徴とする請求項2記載の多気筒エンジンの排気集合部。
