Description
<第1の実施例>
図4は本実施例による表示パネル駆動装置400を表すブロック図である。表示パネル駆動装置400は、表示パネルを駆動するための装置であり、出力ドライバ410−iと、電流制御電圧発生回路420と、PWMクロック発生回路430と、を含む。通常、表示パネル駆動装置400は、出力ドライバ410−i以外にも複数の出力ドライバを含むが、ここでは、説明の簡略化のため、出力ドライバ410−iのみを表している。表示パネル駆動装置400に含まれている出力ドライバの総数をn個とし、iは1以上、n以下の正整数とする。また、表示パネル駆動装置400に含まれる陰極ドライバ群も説明の簡略化のため、図示していない。
<第2の実施例>
図8は第2の実施例による表示パネル駆動装置400を表すブロック図である。出力ドライバ410−i及び電流制御電圧発生回路420の構成は第1の実施例と同一である。以下、第1の実施例と異なる部分を主として説明する。PWMクロック発生回路430は、ミラー電流源回路431−1及び431−2を含む。ミラー電流源回路431−1にはクロック生成回路434からの電流制御信号cc[1]が入力され、ミラー電流源回路431−2にはクロック生成回路434からの電流制御信号cc[2]が入力される。ミラー電流源回路431−1からはミラー電流Ia_s1が出力され、ミラー電流源回路431−2からはミラー電流Ia_s2が出力される。

Claims (2)
- データラインを介して電流駆動型の表示パネルを駆動する表示パネル駆動装置であって、
電流制御電圧を発生する電流制御電圧発生回路と、
前記データラインに、前記電流制御電圧に基づいた電流振幅の輝度パルスを、クロック信号に同期して各々が供給する複数の出力ドライバと、
前記電流制御電圧に基づいたパルス周期のパルス信号を前記クロック信号として生成するクロック発生回路と、を含み、
前記出力ドライバは、前記クロック信号に同期し且つ輝度データに応じたパルス幅のドライブパルスを生成するドライブパルス生成回路と、前記ドライブパルスによってオンオフせしめられて前記電流制御電圧に応じた振幅の電流パルスをオンオフして前記輝度パルスとして生成する電流源回路と、を含み、
前記クロック発生回路は、前記電流制御電圧に基づいた大きさのミラー電流を発生する少なくとも1つのミラー電流源回路と、前記ミラー電流を積分する積分回路と、前記積分回路の積分値が閾値に達するまでの積分時間に基づいたパルス周期のパルス信号を前記クロック信号として生成するパルス信号生成部と、を含むことを特徴とする表示パネル駆動装置。 - 前記ミラー電流源回路は、前記パルス信号の生成数に応じて前記ミラー電流の大きさを制御するミラー電流制御手段を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示パネル駆動装置。
