Description
この出願は、35合衆国特許法第119条(e)に基づいて2002年4月12日提出の合衆国仮特許出願第60/372,153の優先権を主張するもので、ここに、その全文を引用して加入するものである。

この発明は、おまかに言えば遠心機、そして、詳しくは、分離の間蓄積された固形物類を自動的に排出することができる遠心機に関するものである。
この発明によれば、現在の遠心分離機の欠点、特に、固形物類の回収及び機械的不安性に関連する欠点を対処する特徴を含む遠心分離機が開示されている。
図1は、自動のチューブ状ボウル遠心分離機を断面で示し、さらに中間部を除去して水平断面をも示している。この遠心分離機は、分離機ハウジング13の中央領域11に取り付けられた円筒状の分離機ボウル10を含んでいる。分離機ボウル10は、好ましくはチューブ形状のボウルであって、直径Dが比較的細く、長さLは、L/Dの比率が約5/1またはそれよりも大きな比率をもつ長さになっている。分離機ボウル10の内部には、ピストン組立部品が取り付けられていて、このピストン組立部品は、ピストン軸14に連結されているピストンヘッド12からなる。
Claims (8)
- 以下の構成を備える遠心分離機:
中央領域、端部領域及び前記中央領域と端部領域との間の開口を囲む内面を有する円筒状ハウジングであって、前記中央領域は、その内部に回転可能な遠心分離機を取り付けており、前記開口は、蓄積された固形物類を前記ボウルから排出する構成;及び
前記ハウジングの端部領域に取り付けられている固形物類バルブであって、この固形物類バルブは、前記ハウジングの直径方向軸を回転軸として開放位置と閉止位置との間を回転できるようになっており、前記固形物類バルブは、(i)前記固形物類バルブが閉止位置にあるとき、前記ハウジングの内面に密接して前記開口から蓄積された固形物類が排出されないように作用し、そして、(ii)前記固形物類バルブが開放位置にあるとき、前記端部領域の一方側に位置して前記開口から蓄積された固形物類が排出されるように作用するオフセット部をもっている構成。 - 前記固形物類バルブは、内部排出通路を含み、前記分離機ボウルから液体が前記通路を通って排出され、前記固形物類バルブのアーム部分に配置の前記排出通路が前記固形物類バルブのオフセット部から前記分離機ハウジングへ達している請求項1による遠心分離機。
- 前記固形物類バルブは、内部供給液体通路を含み、前記分離機ボウルへ液体が前記通路を通って供給され、前記固形物類バルブのアーム部分に配置の前記供給液体通路が前記固形物類バルブのオフセット部から前記分離機ハウジングへ達している請求項1による遠心分離機。
- 前記分離機ボウルは、前記分離機ハウジングに隣接した分離機ボウル開口を含み、前記供給液体が前記固形物類バルブの供給液体通路からの流れとなって前記分離機ボウル開口を経て前記分離機ボウルに流入する構成の請求項3による遠心分離機。
- 前記分離機ハウジングは、前記中央領域と端部領域との間に内方へ延びた環状フランジを含み、このフランジは、前記開口を囲み、前記内面は、前記端部領域に面するフランジ面を備えている構成の請求項1による遠心分離機。
- 前記固形物類バルブが閉止位置にあるとき、前記分離機ハウジングの内面と前記固形物類バルブのオフセット部との間をシールするために膨らむ操作(i)と前記固形物類バルブを回転させて開放位置にするように凹む操作(ii)を行う膨張可能なシールを備えている構成の請求項1による遠心分離機。
- 前記シールが液体圧で膨張する構成の請求項6による遠心分離機。
- 記シールが空気圧で膨張する構成の請求項6による遠心分離機。
