Description
〔S1〕Siまたはガラス基板上に下部クラッド層としてCVD(Chemical Vapor Deposition)法やFHD(Flame Hydrolysis Deposition)法により、SiO2膜を形成する。このとき、膜応力、屈折率制御にP(リン)やB(ボロン)またはGe(ゲルマ)など添加するとよい。
〔S2〕光が導波されるコア層を、クラッド層と同様にCVD法やFHD法により形成する。このとき、クラッド層よりGeの濃度を濃くする、またはTi(チタン)を添加するなどしてクラッド層より屈折率が高くなるようにする。
〔S3〕コア層上にコアパターンに応じたマスク(感光性を有する有機材料マスクまたはCr(クロム)などの金属を蒸着して、金属膜を有機材料マスクにしてエッチングし形成したメタルマスクなど)を形成し、ドライエッチングによりマスクのコアパターン転写を行う。
〔S4、S5〕また、局所的に加熱する場合には、PLC表面にヒータ及び電極形成が必要であるので、これらは例えばリフトオフ法(ヒータなど形成される部分のみがマスクされないように感光性有機材料をパターニングし、マスク上から、ヒータ材や電極材を蒸着し、その後、有機溶剤などで有機材料マスクを除去する)で形成する。

Claims (5)
- 波長分散の分散スロープの補償を行う分散スロープ補償装置において、
ループ状光伝播路と、外部への入出力を有する入出力光伝播路と、前記ループ状光伝播路及び前記入出力光伝播路を少なくとも2箇所以上で結合する光カプラと、から構成される帰還型光フィルタに対し、
前記光カプラによって挟まれた前記ループ状光伝播路及び前記入出力光伝播路の一部によって形成されるマッハツェンダ干渉計の内、マッハツェンダ干渉計の枝を構成する光伝播路の一部を空間的に分離し、
分離した光伝播路である可動型マッハツェンダ干渉計枝と、前記入出力光伝播路を含む側の光伝播路基板との分離箇所には、集光部を設け、
枝部分の光路長の可変調整により分散スロープの可変設定を行って分散スロープを補償することを特徴とする分散スロープ補償装置。 - 分離した光伝播路である可動型マッハツェンダ干渉計枝が可動する際、2本のマッハツェンダ干渉計枝の光路長差がゼロとなる位置が存在することを特徴とする請求項1記載の分散スロープ補償装置。
- 光伝播路の曲げの一部に反射部を設け、前記反射部を設ける場合は、基板側面に直接作製するか、またはガラスモールド成形部品を基板側面に接着させることを特徴とする請求項1記載の分散スロープ補償装置。
- 前記ループ状光伝播路の一部に対して、媒質の屈折率を変化させる光学効果を与えて、前記ループ状光伝播路の光路長を変化させることで、分散スロープの可変設定に加えて中心波長及び分散補償量の調整を行うことを特徴とする請求項1記載の分散スロープ補償装置。
- 前記光カプラの少なくとも1つをマッハツェンダ干渉計で置き換えた構成にして、分散スロープの可変設定に加えて分散補償量の調整を付加することを特徴とする請求項1記載の分散スロープ補償装置。
