BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention reads one or more originals and stores read image data, and sorts the stored image data assigned in the printing (printing) format designated on the recording paper in the order of reading. And a function for performing electronic sort printing (electronic sorting) for printing the manuscript images in a predetermined number of copies.Image formation control method andThe present invention relates to an image forming apparatus.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, when a plurality of original images are printed by electronic sort printing, the first copy is sequentially printed while the original image is being read, that is, as a result of checking the images printed during the original reading, the printed images are printed. If the image was incomplete (dissatisfied), all the scanned images were discarded and the sort print job had to be restarted from the beginning. That is, a document that has already been printed and has a good print result has to be read again.
[0003]
Also, conventionally, when the first copy of sort printing is completed, the first copy is checked for completion (printing condition), and only after the first copy is good, the second and subsequent copies are checked. A test copy function for printing is known. Examples of using this technique include Japanese Patent Laid-Open Nos. 6-266188 and 11-127324.
[0004]
The image forming apparatus disclosed in the above-mentioned Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 6-266188 (Patent Document 1) sequentially reads a plurality of originals, stores them in an image memory, samples only one copy on recording paper, and interrupts copying. When the copy conditions are changed at the time of interruption, a plurality of originals are sequentially read again, stored in the image memory, only one copy is sampled on the recording paper, and the copy is re-interrupted, and the copy is started at the time of interruption. And only the number of copies obtained by subtracting one copy from the set number of copies.
In addition, this improves the operability.
[0005]
In addition, the facsimile apparatus disclosed in the above-mentioned Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 11-127324 (Patent Document 2) includes a recording control unit that performs print output control of accumulated image data in units of pages in accordance with a test print output instruction in units of pages by an operator. A deletion / insertion control unit that deletes accumulated image data in units of pages in accordance with an instruction for deletion in units of pages by an operator and writes image data in units of pages in accordance with an instruction to insert and designation of an insertion page by an operator.
As a result, the document can be additionally inserted at an arbitrary position after the transmission document is read.
[0006]
In addition, a digital copying machine disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2001-322327 (Patent Document 3) previously filed by the present applicant has a storage unit that stores image data of a copied manuscript, and performs a scanner by a copying operation. A function to temporarily store the image data read in

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the techniques disclosed in the above-mentioned JP-A-6-266188, JP-A-11-127324, and JP-A-2001-322327 read all originals that are used as one unit for sorting or facsimile transmission. Until at least one copy of the original document image (one each) was printed, it was impossible to instruct the original to be read again. In other words, it is not considered that a part of the original is read again before the completion of printing of the original, which is one unit of sorting.
[0009]
In addition, even when a part of the original is instructed to be read again, the instruction is given for each original to be read (each original page), and thus, for example, a plurality of originals on one transfer paper (recording paper) In the case of forming an image, the operation for instructing re-reading is troublesome.
In other words, when the original for the recording paper to be read does not have a one-to-one correspondence with the recording paper, such as when copying from a single-sided original in double-sided copy or merged (two, four,...) ModeInIf the output recording paper is used as a unit for rereading, it is easier for the user to give a rereading instruction.
[0010]
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and has the following objects.
The first object is to read the original again on any printed recording paper even before printing one copy of the original, which is a unit for sorting.Image formation control method andAn image forming apparatus is provided.
[0011]
The second purpose is that when the instruction for rereading the original is given, the user can instruct the rereading by designating which printed recording paper is to be reread.Image formation control method andAn image forming apparatus is provided.
[0012]
A third object is to provide an image forming apparatus that displays how many originals should be returned with respect to a designated recording sheet.
[0013]
A fourth object is to provide an image forming apparatus that can cancel and replace a reading operation within an arbitrary range.
[0014]
A fifth object of the present invention is to provide an image forming apparatus in which a re-reading instruction can be instructed from either the beginning or the end of a document and is easy to operate.
[0015]
A sixth object is to provide an image forming apparatus that can select whether or not to invalidate a recording sheet output after a recording sheet instructed to be read again, and is easy to use.
[0016]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve this object, the present invention has the following features.
The invention described in claim 1A reading process for reading an image of an original, an accumulation process for accumulating an image read by the reading process, a printing process for printing an image read in the reading process or an image accumulated in the accumulating process, and an image accumulated in the accumulating process When the re-reading of the document already read as the sort printing is input together with the designation of the document to be re-read, the image of the designated document is accumulated in the accumulation process. And an image formation control method comprising: a control step for controlling the erasing process from the image and enabling the re-reading processing of the designated document. In the control step, when the re-reading of the document in the sort printing is input, Immediately start the rereading process, and specify the original to be reread in the rereading process. If not, it characterized by receiving an input of one recording sheet to be printed by the print process as a unit.
[0017]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, there is provided reading means for reading an image of a document, storage means for storing an image read by the reading means, and printing means for printing an image read by the reading means or an image stored in the storage means. The input unit that receives the input and the printing unit using the image stored in the storage unit to perform electronic sort printing, and the reread of the document that has already been read as the sort print designates the document to be read again And an image forming apparatus comprising: a control unit that controls to delete the image of the designated document from the storage unit and to enable a rereading process of the designated document when input from the input unit. The control means is configured to start the rereading process immediately when the rereading of the document in the sort printing is input from the input means. When the document to be reread in the rereading process is not in one-to-one correspondence with the recording paper for the recording paper to be read, input is made from the input means in units of one recording paper to be printed by the printing means. It is characterized by receiving.

[0021]
According to the sixth aspect of the present invention, when input of an original to be reread in the rereading process is input from the input means, the input means inputs whether or not to invalidate the recording paper after the specified recording paper. When the invalidity of the recording sheet is input (instructed), the above-described control unit causes the printing unit to print the recording sheet after the designated recording sheet after printing by re-reading the designated recording sheet. When invalidity of paper is not input (instructed), the printing unit is caused to perform only printing by re-reading the designated recording paper.

When the operator touches a key displayed on the liquid crystal touch panel 31, the key indicating the selected function is inverted in black. In addition, when it is necessary to specify the details of the function (for example, if it is variable magnification, the variable magnification value, etc.), the detailed function setting screen is displayed by touching the key. Thus, since the liquid crystal touch panel uses a dot display device, it is possible to graphically perform an optimal display at that time.
[0029]
In FIG. 3A, the upper left is a message area for displaying messages such as “Ready to copy” and “Please wait”, the right is a copy number display area for displaying the set number of copies, and the image density is displayed below that. Automatic density key to adjust automatically, paper selection key to select transfer paper size, automatic paper selection key to automatically select transfer paper, sort key to specify processing to arrange copies one by one in page order, copy to page A stack key that specifies the process to be sorted, a staple key that specifies the process of binding the sorted (partially printed) items one by one, a 1x key that sets the magnification to the same magnification, and a variable that sets the enlargement / reduction magnification A double key, a duplex key for setting a duplex mode, and an erase / move key for setting a binding margin mode and the like are provided. The selected mode is shaded.
[0030]
FIG. 3B is a display example on the liquid crystal touch panel 31 in a state where the document re-reading key is displayed. This document re-reading key may be displayed only during the period from when reading of a document by sort printing is started until input (depression of the final document determination key) indicating final document determination in sort printing is performed. It may be displayed and valid only during that time.
[0031]
FIG. 4A shows a display example when the above-mentioned document re-reading key is pressed (input) to enter a re-read mode (mode for performing a re-reading process), and a re-read-up pop-up screen is displayed. In the original re-reading pop-up screen, as shown in FIG. 4A, the original to be re-read is designated by selecting from the beginning or the end of the already printed (printed) transfer paper (recording paper). The printed transfer sheet is input as a unit. In addition, it is possible to designate and input a document to be read from the designated document for a plurality of recording sheets.
FIG. 4B is a display example of the number of originals to be returned when the original is read again. That is, from the designation based on the number of recording papers of the original to be reread input on the original reread pop-up screen shown in FIG. 4A, the number of originals to be returned is calculated by the control unit, and rereading is designated by returning the number of originals. 6 shows an example of a confirmation screen for returning the number of originals for confirming that the original can be made.
FIG. 4C is a display example of a screen for inputting whether or not to invalidate already printed recording paper after the recording paper designated to be read when the original is read again.
[0032]
Next, the operation of the image reading unit in the image forming apparatus according to the present embodiment and the operation until the latent image is formed on the recording surface (transfer paper) will be described with reference to FIG. The latent image is a potential distribution generated by converting an image into light information and irradiating it on the surface of the photoreceptor.

The
The laser light emitted from the laser output unit 58 is polarized by a polygon mirror that rotates at a constant speed, passes through an imaging lens 59, is folded by a mirror 60, and is focused and imaged on the surface of the photoreceptor.
[0034]
The polarized laser light is exposed and scanned in the direction (main scanning direction) perpendicular to the direction in which the photosensitive member rotates, and the line-by-line recording of the image signal output from the selector 64 of the image processing unit described later is performed. An image (electrostatic latent image) is formed on the surface of the photosensitive member by repeating main scanning at a predetermined cycle corresponding to the rotational speed and recording density of the photosensitive member. As described above, the laser beam output from the

[0037]
Here, an image signal for one page in the selector 64 will be described with reference to FIG.
The frame gate signal (/ FGATE) represents an effective period in the sub-scanning direction of one page of image data. The main scanning synchronization signal (/ LSYNC) is a main scanning synchronization signal for each line, and the image signal becomes valid at a predetermined clock after this signal rises. A signal indicating that the image signal in the main scanning direction is valid is a line gate signal (/ LGATE).
These signals are synchronized with a pixel clock (pixel synchronization signal) VCLK, and data of one pixel is sent for one cycle of VCLK. The image processing unit (IPU) has separate frame gate signal (/ FGATE), main scanning synchronization signal (/ LSYNC), line gate signal (/ LGATE), and pixel synchronization signal (VCLK) for each of image input and output. Having a generation mechanism, various image input / output combinations can be realized.
[0038]
Next, details of the memory controller 65 and the image memory 66 in FIG. 5 will be described with reference to FIG.

In the present embodiment, the operation reservation means that the copying operation cannot be started when the copying machine is heated for fixing, etc., but after the fixing heating is completed by completing the mode setting and document setting and making a reservation, This is a function that automatically starts the copy operation when the copy operation becomes possible. In the present embodiment, the operation reservation is possible during fixing heating. However, anything that becomes operable as time elapses is eligible. It is conceivable that the LCT tray rise time, the polygon motor rotation stabilization time, the toner replenishing operation, etc.
[0045]
Next, a hardware configuration example will be described with reference to FIGS.
In the hardware configuration diagram shown in FIG. 8, the image forming apparatus according to the present embodiment includes an image reading unit, an image writing unit, a system controller, a memory unit, a user restriction device, a human body detection sensor, A remote diagnosis device (CSS) and a clock are provided, but the memory unit is necessary only when the memory function is realized, and is not necessary considering only that the normal copy function is realized. In addition, a clock is only necessary to implement a weekly timer function that boots or shuts down the machine at a certain time. In addition, the human body detection is necessary only when realizing a function of automatically canceling the preheating mode when the user approaches the machine in the preheating mode. In addition, CSS is a function for remote diagnosis, that is, when a machine error occurs, automatically notifies the service center and monitors the execution / use status of the machine from a remote location. May be attached only when the function is required.
[0046]
The DRAM block in the memory unit in FIG. 8 is for storing the image signal read from the image reading unit, and transfers the image data stored in the image writing unit in response to a request from the system controller. be able to. The compression block has a compression function such as MH, MR, or MMR, and can compress an image once read to improve the use efficiency of the memory (DRAM). Further, the rotation of the image is realized by changing the address read from the image writing unit and its direction.
[0047]
In the “hardware configuration example I” shown in FIG. 8 described above, the image reading unit, the image writing unit, the memory unit, and the CSS are controlled by only one CPU of the system controller.
On the other hand, in the “hardware configuration example II” shown in FIG. 9, the image reading unit, the image writing unit, and the memory unit are each provided with a CPU, and commands from the system controller to each controller are transmitted through control signal lines. As described above, the hardware configuration of the image forming apparatus according to the present invention may be variously changed.

Next, processing in sort printing in the image forming apparatus as the present embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 10 is a flowchart showing the sort printing process.
[0050]
First, a document number counter for displaying the number of documents is initialized, and the value is set to 0 (step S1).
Thereafter, determination of key input (pressed key) is performed.
If the input (pressed) key is the start key (step S3; Yes), and if it is not the reread mode (the mode for performing the reread process) (step S11; NO), the original image is read by the reading unit (step S11). S31), storing the read image in the memory (accumulating means) (step S32), counting up the document number counter (step S33), and printing on the transfer paper by the printing means (step S34).
[0051]
If the input key is the final document confirmation key (here, the # key is diverted) for determining the final document to be read as sort printing (step S2; Yes), the mode is not the reread mode (step S21; NO). ), The document reading in the job is finished, and the second and subsequent copies are printed (step S22). When printing for the set number of sheets (set number of copies) is completed, the process is terminated (step S23).
[0052]
When the input key is a document re-reading key (step S4; Yes), that is, from the state where the document re-reading key illustrated in FIG. When the “OK” key is input (pressed), the reread mode is set (step S5), and a reread pop-up screen illustrated in FIG. 4A is displayed (step S6). Here, the user specifies the position of the document to which re-reading is to be specified (the number of sheets from the beginning or end of the recording paper on which the specified original is printed) and the number of re-reads in units of transfer paper (in units of transfer paper). ) Is input (step S7). When the user presses the OK key, the control means deletes the stored image stored in the storage means for the specified number of times from the designated transfer paper position (step S8). Further, the control means calculates the number of originals to be returned from the reread position and the copy mode, and causes the display means to display a display screen of the number of originals to be returned as illustrated in FIG. It is decremented from the document number counter (step S9).
[0053]
The above-mentioned number of originals to be returned is the position from the end of the original corresponding to the position of the transfer paper according to the number of transfer paper from the beginning or the end designated as reread (the number of return from the end). For example, in the single-sided to double-sided mode, if the re-reading position is designated as the nth sheet from the end, the return number is 2 * n. If the re-reading position is designated as the nth sheet from the top, the number of originals that have been read is m, and the number of returned sheets is m-2 * (n-1).
[0054]
When the start key is pressed during the reread mode (steps S3 and S11; Yes), the reread original is read by the reading means and the image is stored in the memory (accumulating means) (step S12). In storing the image in the memory, the image of the document corresponding to the position where the image has been erased by re-reading is inserted, and printing can be performed in the sequence of the documents. Also, the document number counter is counted up (step S13).
[0055]
When the document reading for the set number of rereads and the printing (output) by the printing means are completed (step S15; Yes), a transfer paper valid / invalid pop-up screen as shown in FIG. 4C is displayed (step S16). Here, the user can determine whether or not to invalidate the output transfer sheet output before the re-read setting. In other words, it is possible to select and input (instruct) whether or not to invalidate the transfer sheet after the transfer sheet for which re-reading is designated.
If invalid (“Yes” key pressed in FIG. 4C) (step S17; Yes), the stored image after the reread transfer paper is printed on the transfer paper (step S18), and the reread mode is released. (Step S19). If not invalidated ("NO" key pressed in FIG. 4C) (step S17; NO), only the re-reading mode is canceled (step S19).
[0056]
As described above, when the re-reading of the document in the sort printing is input from the liquid crystal touch panel 31 (input unit), the image forming apparatus according to the present embodiment immediately starts the re-reading process as the re-reading mode as described above. Can do.
For this reason, for example, when reading a document as a sort print manually by one sheet without using the
[0057]
Further, when performing the re-reading process, it is possible to select whether or not to invalidate the transfer paper after the designated transfer paper and input from the liquid crystal touch panel 31 (input means).
If the user does not invalidate the recording paper, the recording paper designated (instructed) as re-reading is not the last transfer paper in sort printing, and the re-reading transfer paper is output last by re-reading. For this reason, the user needs to replace the transfer paper before rereading with the transfer paper after rereading. When the user does not invalidate the transfer paper, the transfer paper to be printed can be prevented from being wasted, but it takes time to replace the transfer paper by re-reading.
When the user makes invalid, it is possible to eliminate the need for manual replacement after re-reading only by removing the transfer sheet after the re-reading is designated.
As described above, since it is possible to select and input whether or not to invalidate the image, the image forming apparatus according to the present embodiment can widen the selection in the user's operation and improve the operability. it can.
[0058]
Note that the image forming apparatus as the present embodiment may be a copier or a digital multifunction peripheral. The above-described embodiment is a preferred embodiment of the present invention, and can be implemented with various modifications, such as a physical hardware configuration, without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
[0059]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, when the rereading of the document in the sort printing is input from the input unit, the rereading process is started immediately.
As a result, even before printing one copy of a document as a unit for sorting, rereading of the document with respect to the designated recording paper can be started at an arbitrary timing.
[0060]
In addition, since the re-reading designation in the sort printing is input in units of one recording paper to be printed, when the user designates the re-reading, the position of the designated recording paper is not the number of originals but the number of recording papers. Can count. That is, even if the user finds a defect in the printed image after printing, the defective recording sheet can be easily replaced. In particular, when double-sided printing or collective printing is performed, it is easier for the user to specify rereading in units of recording paper.
[0061]
In addition, since the re-reading designation for a plurality of recording sheets can be set with a single operation, the user-friendliness can be improved.
[0062]
In addition, since the designation of rereading can be selectively input from the beginning or the end to the printed recording paper, the selection range in the operation can be widened. In other words, since it is possible to select whether to specify rereading from the beginning or from the printed end, it can be used properly depending on the output position of the recording paper to be reread, and user convenience can be improved.
[0063]
In addition, since the number of documents returned corresponding to the position of the recording paper designated for rereading is calculated and displayed on the display means, it is possible to eliminate the need for the user to calculate the number of documents returned. That is, since the number of originals to be returned can be displayed, the user can easily determine the original for the recording paper instructed to reread, and the user convenience can be improved.
[0064]
In addition, since it is possible to select whether or not to invalidate the recording paper output after the recording paper instructed to reread, if the output recording paper is invalidated, the recording paper after the re-reading is designated Removal eliminates the need for manual replacement after rereading. Further, when the output recording paper is validated, paper resources can be saved. By expanding the selection range in this way, user convenience can be improved.
