【従来の技術】
酸素はその反応性の高さから食品や医薬品を酸化し、劣化を起こす事が知られている。多くの食品、医薬品は脱酸素剤を共存させる事によって劣化を防止しているが、その際、脱酸素剤の能力やピンホール、シール不良などによる酸素の進入を検知するために酸素インジケーターが同時に投入されている。

現在、酸化還元色素、還元剤、バインダー等の組み合わせを変えた何種類かの酸素インジケーターが上市されている。酸素インジケーターは酸化還元指示薬が還元型と酸化型とで異なる色調を呈する性質を利用したものであり、一般的に用いられているメチレンブルーは無酸素下では還元剤の働きによって還元型、すなわち無色を呈し、有酸素下では酸素により酸化され、青色を呈する。

また、2種類以上の色素を混合する事により変色を容易に確認できるインジケーターも開発されている。

酸素インジケーターの形状は液状、錠剤、インキタイプ、シート状、ペーパータイプなど多岐にわたる。さらには脱酸素剤一体型のものや包材一体型のものなどが開発されており、投入時の省力化がはかられている。

多くの酸素インジケーターは直径1cm以下の大きさに打錠成形され、ポリエチレンやポリプロピレンなどの包材にピンホールを開けた状態で個包装され、バリア性包材に内容物、脱酸素剤と共に封入されている。

酸化還元色素を用いた数種の酸素インジケーターが上市されているが、多くの色素は光によって退色、分解を起こす事が知られている。つまり、酸素インジケーターは暗所にて保存しなくてはならず、その耐光性に問題があった。

しかし、内容物が見える形態の包材では酸素インジケーターは光にさらされる危険があり、またインジケーターはその性質上、外から見える位置に設置する必要がある。内容物の流通が長期にわたる場合には酸素インジケーターが光によって劣化する可能性が高くなるため、その耐光性の付与が望まれていた。

一方、紫外線吸収剤を酸素インジケーターに直接添加する方法が開発されているが、色素と還元剤の酸化還元反応を阻害しない薬剤を選定する必要があり、使用できる薬剤が限定されるという欠点があった。

本発明は上記従来技術の問題点を解決するためになされたものであり、紫外線吸収剤を添加した被覆材によって覆う事により、蛍光灯や太陽光の照射による酸素インジケーターの劣化を防止する事を課題とするものである。

本発明は上記課題を解決するために考えられたものであり、請求項1の発明は、打錠形成した酸素検知部、およびその酸素検知部に紫外線吸収剤を含むコーティング剤をコートして形成した被覆部とからなることを特徴とする酸素インジケーター、としたものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
次に本発明の実施の形態について具体的に説明する。紫外線吸収剤としては、ベンゾトリアゾール系薬剤や酸化亜鉛、トリアジン系薬剤、蓚酸アニリド系薬剤、ベンゾフェノン系薬剤などが使用可能である。また、これらの薬剤を併用すると相乗効果により好適に使用できる。

また、被覆部の形成方法としては、コーティング剤に紫外線吸収剤を添加し、酸素インジケーターの酸素検知部に直接コートする方法である。コーティング剤としてはウレタン系樹脂やポリアマイド系樹脂等が利用可能である。

以下、本発明の実施例について具体的に説明する。
酸化還元色素としてメチレンブルーが0.014重量部、還元剤としてL−アスコルビン酸が2.0重量部、結合剤としてセルロースが27重量部、担持物質としてゼオライトが51重量部、水が20.086重量部からなる酸素インジケーターの酸素検知部を打錠成形した。

実験1の結果より、本発明の酸素インジケーターは、光によって酸素インジケーターが変色するのを防ぐ事が確認された。また、実験1より、開放系で太陽光を暴露すると、比較例1は退色したが、紫外線吸収剤を添加した被覆材で覆われた実施例1は変色しなかった。比較例では酸素インジケーターは、太陽光にさらされると変色し、酸素の有無を検知する能力が低下する事が示された。一方、実施例では、比較例において観察された退色や発色は見られず、耐光性を有する事が示された。紫外線吸収剤で酸素インジケーターの酸素検知部をコートする事によって光が酸素インジケーターに与える影響を排除し、その酸素検知能を持続させることが可能となった。

本発明は紫外線吸収剤を含有した通気性を有する被覆部と酸素検知部からなる酸素インジケーターであって、光暴露による劣化を防止し、長期間にわたって酸素検知能力を維持する事ができる。
