Description
【0001】
また粘性は、2cst(センチストークス)を下回ってはならない。
【0023】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The invention comprises a fuel supply system, the fuel supply system comprising at least one circulation line having a connection for an attached consuming device, wherein the circulation line contains a selectively usable fuel. An internal combustion engine of the type that can be supplied with fuel by a supply device having a plurality of tanks and that is provided with a conditioning device attached to the feed line of the circulation line to adjust the fuel temperature It relates to diesel engines.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Internal combustion engines of the above type, in particular used as marine prime movers, are operated using selectively different types of fuel, such as heavy oil and light oil. Heavy oil is used offshore. Light oil must be used on the coast or in the harbor. Therefore, a switching process from one fuel type to another fuel type is often required, but this process has been performed manually.
[0003]
The fuel supplied to the fuel injection pump is heated by a conditioning device located in the region of the circulation line to achieve good atomization, in which case heavy oil is diesel diesel oil to obtain the desired viscosity. Must be heated to a significantly higher temperature. This makes the switching process difficult. This is because if the viscosity is too high, the volumetric flow rate will be inaccurate, and if the viscosity is too low, the pump plunger gnaw will result in a high risk of wear. It is also undesirable for the temperature change to occur rapidly. This is because the injection pump is very prone to failure when the temperature changes rapidly, as in the case where the viscosity drops excessively. Therefore, manual switching from one fuel type to another fuel type must take a long time and requires skilled workers. Both are difficult on today's ships. Therefore, there is a risk of the wear phenomenon and damage of the fuel pump.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
An object of the present invention is to improve an internal combustion engine of the type described at the beginning so as to ensure high operational safety while avoiding the above-mentioned drawbacks.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the present invention, this object is achieved in the internal combustion engine described in the high-order concept section, in the conditioning device, which can be activated and programmed at each replacement of the fuel type from one fuel type to another fuel type. The temperature of the fuel is changed from the temperature level suitable for the previous fuel type to the new fuel type according to the program defined for the replacement and the ramp function included in the program at each replacement. The temperature can be adjusted to a suitable temperature level by the control device. In this case, the temperature adjustment performed by a predetermined ramp function is solved by combining monitoring and control of fuel viscosity and temperature gradient.
[0006]
Such a measure has the advantage of allowing automatic, non-supervised switching from one fuel type to another. Due to the automatic switching, a relatively short switching time is achieved without departing from safety limits. Since the ramp function for controlling the temperature adjustment is superposed on the monitoring and control of the viscosity and the temperature gradient, it is ensured that the wear phenomenon and damage in the injector region are avoided despite the short switching time. Therefore, according to the means of the present invention, the problems described at the beginning are surely eliminated.
[0007]
Advantageous configurations and developments of the means are set forth in the dependent claims.
[0008]
The control device can preferably be configured to include an adjustment device that generates an adjustment signal that controls the amount of energy supplied to the conditioning device. Further, the adjusting device includes a program storage device capable of filing a temperature adjustment program including a predetermined ramp function and a reference value for viscosity and temperature gradient, and a temperature sensor and viscosity provided with a differentiating device. A measuring device can be attached. This makes it possible to adapt the device according to the invention to different conditions, for example different fuel types, simply by requiring changes on the software side. Therefore, such adaptation can be performed relatively easily.
[0009]
Further in accordance with the present invention, the program storage device can be configured to include a plurality of ramp functions associated with the load for at least one fuel type change. The ramp function can be selected in relation to a load signal that can be supplied to the control device. Thereby, at least one switching process, for example, the switching process from heavy oil to light oil, can be carried out without delay even during full-load navigation and when stopped.
[0010]
Advantageously, the heating device attached to the fuel tank can also be controlled by the control device. In this way, preliminary conditioning of the fuel becomes possible, thereby reducing the load on the conditioning device provided in the region of the circulation line.
[0011]
According to yet another particularly advantageous configuration of the invention, the supply device is provided with a mixing valve, the inlet of the mixing valve is connected to a fuel tank, and of the total amount of fuel supplied to the circulation line, The mixing valve can be operated by a control device so that the fuel ratio is gradually reduced and the new fuel ratio is correspondingly increased. A particularly short switching time can be achieved since the fuel mixture supplied to the circulation line already has a mixing temperature. Since the mixing ratio gradually changes from 0 to 100% or from 100% to 0, the limit values for viscosity and temperature gradient are relatively easily observed.
[0012]
There is a further advantage if a mixing tank is arranged on the outlet side of the mixing valve. According to this measure, it is possible to spend a lot of time in the mixing process, and particularly good mixing is ensured.
[0013]
Further advantageous configurations and developments of the invention are described in the other dependent claims and will become apparent from the following description based on the drawings.

It is desirable to gradually change the mixing ratio in steps of about 20%. By such mixing, the time required for the switching step can be shortened.
