【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a web guide roller that travels and guides along a predetermined conveyance path while supporting a relatively wide flexible belt-like support (hereinafter referred to as a web) that is continuously transferred by a cylindrical outer peripheral surface. It is about.
[0002]
[Prior art]
When manufacturing a magnetic tape or a photographic film, a magnetic coating film or a photosensitive coating film having a desired thickness is applied to one surface of the web while continuously feeding the web from an original roll wound in a coil shape. As shown in FIG. 7, the main part of the web traveling path constituting the process of winding up again in the coil shape after wearing, drying, and the so-called web handling line is generally the cylindrical shell member and the shell member. The web W is formed by a plurality of web guide rollers GR each having a journal portion fitted at both ends, and the web W is moved to an arrow C by the web guide rollers GR appropriately disposed opposite to both surfaces of the web W. Driving guidance in the direction.
[0003]
In recent years, there has been a strong demand for downsizing of cartridges for storing magnetic tapes and photographic films slitted to a desired size and increasing recording density per unit area, and the thickness of the web W is reduced. At the same time, the need for further smoothing the surface roughness has increased.
However, the web W that has been thinned and smoothed as described above is guided to travel along a predetermined traveling path while being supported by the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical shell member that has been simply smoothed. However, under the conditions of combined web handling in a low web tension range and a high traveling speed range, it is guaranteed that the generation of scratches and wrinkles that are harmful to quality is always suppressed by the good holding force of the cylindrical shell member. I can no longer get.
[0004]
A web guide roller GR comprising a compression chamber recess R branched from a land L on the cylindrical outer peripheral surface of an aluminum shell member as shown in FIGS. 8 and 9 is disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 57-51642. Proposed.
The web guide roller GR is formed by sandblasting the cylindrical outer peripheral surface and then forming the compression chamber recess R branched by chrome plating, and then occupying an area ratio on the chrome-plated cylindrical outer peripheral surface. Grinding and polishing the chrome-plated surface until the land portion L having a surface roughness of 30 to 40% and a surface depth of 3 μm or less and the depth of 30 to 80 μm of the concave portion R of the compression chamber are obtained. It was.
[0005]
The web guide roller GR runs at a web tension of 15 kg / width while supporting the web W transferred at a speed of 380 m / min on a cylindrical outer peripheral surface having an outer diameter of 70 mm with a lap angle of 1.5 °. Even if guided, the good holding force of the cylindrical outer peripheral surface reliably suppresses generation of scratches and wrinkles that are harmful to quality on the surface of the web W, and also facilitates cleanliness of the cylindrical outer peripheral surface. It was obtained.
[0006]
On the other hand, a web comprising a land portion L and a plurality of narrow grooves VG or UG having a V-shaped or U-shaped cross-sectional shape on the cylindrical outer peripheral surface of the shell member as shown in FIGS. A guide roller GR is proposed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 4-365746.
The web guide roller GR has a surface roughness (Ra) in which the land portion L occupies an area ratio of 50% or more on the cylindrical outer peripheral surface and is 1.0 to 3.0 μm. The UG was engraved with a depth of 0.25 mm, a width of 0.25 mm, and a pitch of 1.5 mm.
[0007]
The web guide roller GR is a web W having a surface roughness (Ra) of 0.005 to 0.03 μm and a thickness of 3 to 15 μm transferred at a speed of 100 to 500 m / min. Even if it travels with a web tension of 2 to 15 kg / width while being supported on the cylindrical outer peripheral surface at a wrap angle of 90 °, it is harmful to the surface of the web W due to a good holding force of the cylindrical outer peripheral surface. It was possible to reliably suppress the generation of scratches.
[0008]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, when the thinning and smoothing of the web is further promoted and the running speed of the web is also increased, it has been disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open Nos. 57-51642 and 4-365746. In each of the conventional web guide rollers GR, the relative speed difference between the surface of the web and the cylindrical outer peripheral surface of the web guide roller is increased, so that the slip due to slip and the super smooth surface of the web with respect to the cylindrical outer peripheral surface are increased. Scratches due to stick-slip caused by repeated excessive adhesion and abrupt separation, pulling wrinkles, or in the worst case, the web is likely to break.
[0009]
The present invention solves the above-mentioned problems of the prior art, and even when a thinned and ultra-smooth web is conveyed at high speed, the web can maintain its surface quality and guide its running. An object of the present invention is to provide a simple web guide roller.
