Abstract
Description
(i)最初に水及び任意選択で1種以上のエチレン性不飽和コモノマーを投入する工程、
(ii)酸性の中和されていない形態のアクリル酸、任意選択で1種以上のエチレン性不飽和コモノマー、フリーラジカル反応開始剤水溶液及び次亜リン酸塩水溶液を連続的に加える工程、
(iii)アクリル酸フィードの終了後、水溶液に塩基を加える工程、
を含み、総モノマー含有量に対するコモノマー含有量は30wt%を超えず、3つの連続したフィード期間ΔtI、ΔtII及びΔtIIIからなる総フィード時間中に次亜リン酸塩水溶液を加え、第2のフィード期間ΔtIIにおける平均のフィード速度は第1及び第3のフィード期間ΔtI、ΔtIIIの平均のフィード速度よりも大きい、方法について記載している。
(i)最初に、水、並びに任意選択で酸性の中和されていない形態のアクリル酸、任意選択で1種以上のエチレン性不飽和コモノマー、任意選択で連鎖移動剤及び任意選択で反応開始剤を投入する工程、
(ii)アクリル酸、任意選択で1種以上のエチレン性不飽和コモノマー、フリーラジカル反応開始剤水溶液、及び連鎖移動剤を加える工程、
(iii)アクリル酸フィードの終了後、水溶液に塩基を加える工程、
を含み、工程(iii)において、ナトリウムイオンを含む塩基及びカルシウムイオンを含む塩基を、アクリル酸ポリマーの酸基の30%〜60%がカルシウムイオンで中和され、アクリル酸ポリマーの30%〜70%がナトリウムイオンで中和され、アクリル酸ポリマーの酸基の0%〜10%が中和されないような量で加える、方法を提供する。
(i)最初に、水、並びに任意選択で酸性の中和されていない形態のアクリル酸、任意選択で1種以上のエチレン性不飽和コモノマー、任意選択で次亜リン酸塩水溶液及び任意選択で反応開始剤を投入する工程、
(ii)アクリル酸、任意選択で1種以上のエチレン性不飽和コモノマー、フリーラジカル反応開始剤水溶液、及び次亜リン酸塩水溶液を加える工程、
(iii)アクリル酸フィードの終了後、水溶液に塩基を加える工程、
を含み、総モノマー含有量に対するコモノマー含有量は30wt%を超えず、少なくとも75%のアクリル酸が変換される期間にわたって、アクリル酸と、フリーラジカルにより引き抜き可能な(free-radically abstractable)リン結合水素とのモル比x[AA]/[P−H]が、±0.5以内で一定でかつ0.8〜2の範囲の値xであるように、アクリル酸、フリーラジカル反応開始剤水溶液及び次亜リン酸塩水溶液を加える。
実施例で使用するポリマーは、反応開始剤として過硫酸ナトリウム及び連鎖移動剤として次亜リン酸ナトリウムを用い、アクリル酸から、溶媒としての水の中でのフィード方法により製造されるポリアクリル酸である。その後、酸性ポリアクリラートを水酸化カルシウム、水酸化マグネシウム及び/又は水酸化ナトリウムで中和又は部分的に中和した。
アルカリ性炭酸カルシウム分散液は貯蔵中、空気から二酸化炭素を吸収する。二酸化炭素は溶解した炭酸カルシウムと反応して炭酸水素カルシウムを生じ、これにより分散液のpHが低下し、粘度が増加するに至る。CO2吸収時の炭酸カルシウム分散液の粘度に対する分散剤の効果をシミュレートするため、様々な量の炭酸水素ナトリウムを種々のポリアクリラートにより安定化されたスラリーに加えた。添加後、すぐにスラリーの粘度を測定した。炭酸水素ナトリウムは10重量%溶液として加えた。量は、スラリー中の固体炭酸カルシウムに対する固体NaHCO3のwt%として表中で報告する。スラリーは各々、0.8%(wt/wt%)のポリアクリラートにより安定化した。結果を表3に示す。
Claims (11)
- 重量平均分子量Mwの範囲が3500〜12000g/molで多分散指数Mw/Mnが≦2.5であるアクリル酸ポリマーであって、アクリル酸ポリマーの酸基の30%〜60%がカルシウムイオンで中和されており、アクリル酸ポリマーの30%〜70%がナトリウムイオンで中和されており、アクリル酸ポリマーの酸基の0%〜10%が中和されていない、アクリル酸ポリマー。
- アクリル酸ポリマーの酸基の40%〜60%がカルシウムイオンで中和されており、アクリル酸ポリマーの酸基の40%〜60%がナトリウムイオンで中和されており、アクリル酸ポリマーの酸基の0%〜10%が中和されていない、請求項1に記載のアクリル酸ポリマー。
- 多分散指数Mw/Mnが1.5〜2.2である、請求項1又は2に記載のアクリル酸ポリマー。
- 溶媒としての水の中で、連鎖移動剤の存在下、フリーラジカル反応開始剤を用いたフィードモードでのアクリル酸の重合により、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のアクリル酸ポリマー水溶液を製造する方法であって、
(i)最初に、水、並びに任意選択で酸性で中和されていない形態のアクリル酸、任意選択で1種以上のエチレン性不飽和コモノマー、任意選択で連鎖移動剤及び任意選択で反応開始剤を投入する工程、
(ii)アクリル酸、任意選択で1種以上のエチレン性不飽和コモノマー、フリーラジカル反応開始剤水溶液、及び連鎖移動剤を加える工程、
(iii)アクリル酸フィードの終了後、水溶液に塩基を加える工程、
を含み、工程(iii)において、ナトリウムイオンを含む塩基及びカルシウムイオンを含む塩基を、アクリル酸ポリマーの酸基の30%〜60%がカルシウムイオンで中和され、アクリル酸ポリマーの30%〜70%がナトリウムイオンで中和され、アクリル酸ポリマーの酸基の0%〜10%が中和されないような量で加える、方法。 - 工程(iii)において、最初にカルシウムイオンを含む塩基を、次にナトリウムイオンを含む塩基を加える、請求項4に記載の方法。
- ナトリウムイオンを含む塩基が水酸化ナトリウム及び炭酸ナトリウムから選択される、請求項4又は5に記載の方法。
- カルシウムイオンを含む塩基が水酸化カルシウム及び炭酸カルシウムから選択される、請求項4及び6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 連鎖移動剤が次亜リン酸塩である、請求項4〜7のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 請求項4〜8のいずれか一項に記載の水溶液から得ることができるアクリル酸ポリマー。
- 水性固体分散液中の分散剤及び粉砕助剤としての、請求項1〜3及び9のいずれか一項に記載のアクリル酸ポリマーの使用。
- CaCO3、カオリン、タルク、TiO2、ZnO、ZrO2、Al2O3又はMgOの水性分散液中での、請求項10に記載の使用。
