Abstract
Description
本発明は、グラフェン状炭素粒子分散体、およびそのような分散体の作製法に関する。
グラフェン状炭素粒子は、例えばインクおよびコーティングにおいて、多くの潜在的用途を有する。しかし、グラフェン状炭素粒子は、種々の媒質、例えば、有機溶剤および水に分散させるのが困難であることが見出されている。エチルセルロースが、グラフェン状炭素粒子の分散を改善するために分散助剤として使用されている。しかし、グラフェン状炭素粒子を含有するインクおよびコーティングならびにその他の物質の特性を改善するために、グラフェン状炭素粒子の改善した分散体が必要とされている。例えば、電気伝導率特性は、種々のタイプのインクおよびコーティング、例えば、クリアコーティング、着色コーティング、プライマコーティング、静電気散逸性コーティング、およびプリンテッドエレクトロニクス、バッテリ、キャパシタ、電気トレース、アンテナ、電熱コーティングなどにおいてグラフェン状炭素粒子の改善した分散体によって改善されうる。
本発明のある態様は、溶剤、該溶剤中に分散されたグラフェン状炭素粒子、およびポリマー分散剤を含む分散体を提供する。該ポリマー分散剤は、下記を含む:a)3−ヒドロキシ−2−ナフトエ酸、パラ−ニトロ安息香酸、ヘキサン酸、2−エチルヘキサン酸、デカン酸および/またはウンデカン酸を含むカルボン酸と反応したグリシジル(メタ)アクリレート、3,4−エポキシシクロヘキシルメチル(メタ)アクリレート、2−(3,4−エポキシシクロヘキシル)エチル(メタ)アクリレート、アリルグリシジルエーテルおよびそれらの混合物を含むアンカーブロック、ならびにb)少なくとも1つの(メタ)アクリル酸アルキルエステルを含む少なくとも1つのテイルブロック。
本発明の実施形態によれば、増加した電気伝導率のような望ましい特性を付与するためにポリマー分散剤を使用することによって、グラフェン状炭素粒子がインクおよびコーティングならびにその他の物質に分散される。本明細書において、グラフェン状炭素粒子がインクおよびコーティングに分散される実施形態が主に説明されているが、そのような分散体を有する他の種類の物質、例えば、バッテリ、キャパシタ、電気トレースなども本発明の範囲に含まれるものと理解すべきである。
遷移金属Mの例は、Cu、Fe、Au、Ag、Hg、Pd、Pt、Co、Mn、Ru、Mo、NbおよびZnを包含するが、それらに限定されない。Xの例は、ハライド、ヒドロキシ、酸素、C1−C6−アルコキシ、シアノ、シアナト、チオシアナトおよびアジドを包含するが、それらに限定されない。1つの特定の例において、遷移金属はCu(I)であり、Xはハライド、例えば塩化物である。したがって、1つの特定のクラスの遷移金属触媒は、ハロゲン化銅、例えばCu(I)Clである。ある実施形態において、遷移金属触媒は、少量の、例えば1モルパーセントのレドックスコンジュゲート、例えば、Cu(I)Clが使用された場合のCu(II)Cl2を含有しうる。ポリマー分散剤の調製に有用な付加的触媒は、米国特許第5,807,937号の第18欄、第29行〜第56行に記載されている。レドックスコンジュゲートは、米国特許第5,807,937号の第11欄、第1行〜第13欄、第38行にさらに詳細に記載されている。
記号Фは、開始剤の残基の誘導体も表しうる。
表1に記載されている組成物A、B、CおよびDは、各70gを、8オンスのガラスジャーに、220gのSEPR Ermil 1.0〜1.25mmミリングメディアと共に添加することによって分散させた。Lau分散機(Model DAS 200,Lau,GmbH)を使用して、該ジャー中の試料を4時間振とうした。次に、ミリングメディアを濾過によって分散体から除去した。表1に記載されている組成物E、FおよびGを、バスソニケータ中で2時間音波処理することによって、全固形分に基づき12.5重量パーセントで、(E)n−メチル−2−ピロリドン、(F)メチルエーテルプロピレングリコール(Dowanol PM Acetate, Dow Chemical)、および(G)n,n−ジメチルアセトイミドに分散させた。

Claims (20)
- 分散体であって、
溶剤;
前記溶剤中に分散されたグラフェン状炭素粒子;および
ポリマー分散剤;
を含み、前記ポリマー分散剤が、
a)3−ヒドロキシ−2−ナフトエ酸、パラ−ニトロ安息香酸、ヘキサン酸、2−エチルヘキサン酸、デカン酸および/またはウンデカン酸を含むカルボン酸と反応したグリシジル(メタ)アクリレート、3,4−エポキシシクロヘキシルメチル(メタ)アクリレート、2−(3,4−エポキシシクロヘキシル)エチル(メタ)アクリレート、アリルグリシジルエーテルまたはそれらの混合物を含むアンカーブロック;および
b)少なくとも1つの(メタ)アクリル酸アルキルエステルを含む少なくとも1つのテイルブロック;
を含む、分散体。 - 前記溶剤が、n−メチル−2−ピロリドン、n−ブチルアセテート、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテル(monometheylether)、4−ヒドロキシ酪酸ガンマ−ラクトン、エタノール、2−ブトキシエタノール、アセトン、トルエン、キシレン、芳香族溶剤100、メチルエーテルプロピレングリコールアセテートおよび/またはメチルアミルケトンまたはそれらの組合せを含む有機溶剤を含む、請求項1に記載の分散体。
- 前記溶剤が、n−メチル−2−ピロリドン、n−ブチルアセテート、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテル(monometheylether)またはそれらの組合せを含む有機溶剤を含む、請求項1に記載の分散体。
- 前記溶剤が水を含む、請求項1に記載の分散体。
- 前記溶剤が有機溶剤をさらに含む、請求項4に記載の分散体。
- 前記有機溶剤が、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテル(monometheylether)および/またはエタノールを含む、請求項5に記載の分散体。
- 前記グラフェン状炭素粒子が熱的に生成される、請求項1に記載の分散体。
- 前記アンカーブロックが、グリシジル(メタ)アクリレートを含む、請求項1に記載の分散体。
- 前記少なくとも1つのテイルブロックが、少なくとも2つの(メタ)アクリル酸アルキルエステルを含む、請求項8に記載の分散体。
- 前記少なくとも1つのテイルブロックが、メトキシポリ(プロピレングリコール)モノ(メタ)アクリレートを含む、請求項8に記載の分散体。
- グラフェン状炭素粒子と前記ポリマー分散剤との重量比が1:10〜10:1である、請求項1に記載の分散体。
- 少なくとも1つの被膜形成樹脂をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の分散体。
- 前記少なくとも1つの被膜形成樹脂が、エポキシ樹脂、アクリルポリマー、ポリエステルポリマー、ポリウレタンポリマー、ポリアミドポリマー、ポリエーテルポリマー、ビスフェノールA系エポキシポリマー、ポリシロキサンポリマー、スチレン、エチレン、ブチレン、それらのコポリマー、またはそれらの組合せを含む、請求項12に記載の分散体。
- 前記分散体から付着した硬化コーティングが、少なくとも1S/mの電気伝導率を有する、請求項12に記載の分散体。
- 前記電気伝導率が少なくとも10,000S/mである、請求項14に記載の分散体。
- グラフェン状炭素粒子と被膜形成樹脂との重量比が0.1:100〜10:1である、請求項12に記載の分散体。
- グラフェン状炭素粒子と被膜形成樹脂との重量比が1:100〜7:1である、請求項12に記載の分散体。
- 分散体から生成される導電性コーティングであって、
前記分散体は、
溶剤;
前記溶剤中に分散されたグラフェン状炭素粒子;および
ポリマー分散剤;
を含み、前記ポリマー分散剤は、
a)3−ヒドロキシ−2−ナフトエ酸、パラ−ニトロ安息香酸、ヘキサン酸、2−エチルヘキサン酸、デカン酸および/またはウンデカン酸を含むカルボン酸と反応したグリシジル(メタ)アクリレート、3,4−エポキシシクロヘキシルメチル(メタ)アクリレート、2−(3,4−エポキシシクロヘキシル)エチル(メタ)アクリレート、アリルグリシジルエーテルおよびそれらの混合物を含むアンカーブロック;および
b)少なくとも1つの(メタ)アクリル酸アルキルエステルを含む少なくとも1つのテイルブロック;
を含む、導電性コーティング。 - 被膜形成樹脂をさらに含む、請求項18に記載の導電性コーティング。
- グラフェン状炭素粒子を溶剤中に分散させる方法であって、前記グラフェン状炭素粒子をポリマー分散剤の存在下に前記溶剤に混合する工程を含み、前記ポリマー分散剤が、
a)3−ヒドロキシ−2−ナフトエ酸、パラ−ニトロ安息香酸、ヘキサン酸、2−エチルヘキサン酸、デカン酸および/またはウンデカン酸を含むカルボン酸と反応したグリシジル(メタ)アクリレート、3,4−エポキシシクロヘキシルメチル(メタ)アクリレート、2−(3,4−エポキシシクロヘキシル)エチル(メタ)アクリレート、アリルグリシジルエーテルおよびそれらの混合物を含むアンカーブロック;および
b)少なくとも1つの(メタ)アクリル酸アルキルエステルを含む少なくとも1つのテイルブロック、を含む方法。
