Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a thermoelectric conversion module using a thermoelectric element.
Thermoelectric power generation is attracting attention as a clean energy resource because it can convert waste heat from automobiles and factories into electrical energy. A thermoelectric conversion module used for thermoelectric power generation has a configuration in which thermoelectric elements arranged in a predetermined pattern are sandwiched between two substrates, and generates electric energy according to a temperature difference between the two substrates.
On the other hand, in the thermoelectric module at the time of driving, since the high temperature side substrate tends to thermally expand more than the low temperature side substrate, thermal stress corresponding to the temperature difference between the two substrates is generated. In the thermoelectric module, due to this thermal stress, for example, the performance may be deteriorated, or the thermoelectric element and its connection part may be damaged.
Thermoelectric modules are desired to improve power generation output. In order to improve the power generation output of the thermoelectric module, it is effective to increase the temperature difference between the two substrates.
However, when the temperature difference between the two substrates is increased, the thermoelectric conversion module is likely to be damaged particularly by warping of the high temperature side substrate. For this reason, sufficient durability may not be obtained with the thermoelectric conversion module.
For this reason, the technique for suppressing the curvature of the board | substrate of a thermoelectric conversion module is desired.
In view of the circumstances as described above, an object of the present invention is to provide a thermoelectric conversion module in which warpage of a substrate is suppressed.
In order to achieve the above object, a thermoelectric conversion module according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a high temperature side substrate, a low temperature side substrate, and a plurality of thermoelectric elements.
The high temperature side substrate includes a first main surface, a second main surface opposite to the first main surface, a plurality of first electrodes arranged on the first main surface, and the second main surface. The first metallized layer is divided so as to have a maximum diameter of 15 mm or less.
The low temperature side substrate includes a third main surface facing the first main surface, a fourth main surface opposite to the third main surface, and a plurality of second electrodes arranged on the third main surface; And a second metallized layer provided on the fourth main surface and divided in a predetermined pattern.
The plurality of thermoelectric elements are arranged between the first main surface and the third main surface, and are connected to the first electrode and the second electrode, respectively.
In this thermoelectric conversion module, since the high temperature side substrate is divided so that the maximum diameter becomes 15 mm or less, warpage in each of the divided high temperature side substrates is suppressed. Moreover, since the high temperature side substrate is divided, the area of the first metallized layer is reduced. Thereby, since the amount of thermal expansion of the first metallized layer is reduced, warping of the high temperature side substrate is further suppressed.
Further, since the second metallized layer of the low temperature side substrate is divided, the area of each of the divided second metallized layers is reduced. Thereby, since the amount of thermal expansion of the second metallized layer is reduced, warpage of the low temperature side substrate is also suppressed.
The second metallized layer may be divided so that the maximum diameter is 15 mm or less.
The second metallized layer may be divided in the same pattern as the plurality of second electrodes.
The thickness of the low temperature side substrate may be 300 μm or more.
In these configurations, since the second metallized layer is divided into small pieces, the thermal expansion amount of the second metallized layer is further reduced. Further, since the low temperature side substrate is thick, it is difficult to be deformed. As a result, warpage of the low temperature side substrate is further suppressed.
The difference in thickness between the first electrode and the first metallized layer may be 20% or less of the thickness of the first electrode.
In this configuration, since the difference in thickness between the first electrode and the second metallized layer formed on both main surfaces of the high temperature side substrate is small, the thermal stress generated by the thermal expansion of the first electrode and the second metallized layer is reduced. The difference becomes smaller. Thereby, the curvature of a high temperature side board | substrate is further suppressed.
It is possible to provide a thermoelectric conversion module in which the warpage of the substrate is suppressed.

FIG. 4 is a plan view of the high

(Lead wire 15)
The low

With these configurations, in the
As described above, since the

FIG. 5 is a partial plan view showing the main surface of the lower side of the high
By dividing the high
