Abstract
【解決手段】芯金14と加硫接着により接合されたシール部材15からなるシール板12と、円筒部13aと径方向外方に延びる立板部13bを有するスリンガ13で構成され、シール部材15が、径方向外方に傾斜して延び、立板部13bに軸方向シメシロを介して摺接するサイドリップ15bと、サイドリップ15bの内径側に二股状に形成され、円筒部13aに径方向シメシロを介して摺接するグリースリップ15cとダストリップ15dとからなるラジアルリップを備え、ダストリップ15dにガータースプリング17が装着され、この緊迫力が全緊迫力の50%以上に設定されると共に、ガータースプリング17がない状態での緊迫力が3N以上に設定されている。

図1は、本発明に係る密封装置を備えた車輪用軸受の一実施形態を示す縦断面図、図2は、図1の一方の密封装置を示す要部拡大図、図3は、図2の密封装置の全緊迫力を示す説明図、図4は、図2の密封装置のガータースプリングがない状態の緊迫力を示す説明図、図5は、常温時の過酷環境下での密封装置の緊迫力の測定結果を示すグラフ、図6は、低温時の過酷環境下での密封装置の緊迫力の測定結果を示すグラフである。なお、以下の説明では、車両に組み付けた状態で車両の外側寄りとなる側をアウター側(図1の左側)、中央寄り側をインナー側(図1の右側)という。

Claims (7)
- 内周に複列の外側転走面が一体に形成された外方部材と、
一端部に車輪を取り付けるための車輪取付フランジを一体に有し、外周に軸方向に延びる小径段部が形成されたハブ輪、およびこのハブ輪の小径段部に嵌合された少なくとも一つの内輪または等速自在継手の外側継手部材からなり、外周に前記複列の外側転走面に対向する複列の内側転走面が形成された内方部材と、
この内方部材と前記外方部材のそれぞれの転走面間に転動自在に収容された複列の転動体とを備えた車輪用軸受に装着され、前記外方部材と内方部材との間に形成される環状空間の開口部を密封する車輪用軸受の密封装置であって、
断面が略L字状に形成されて互いに対向配置された環状のシール板とスリンガとからなるパックシールで構成され、前記シール板が、前記外方部材の端部内周に所定のシメシロを介して圧入される円筒状の嵌合部と、この嵌合部の端部から径方向内方に延びる内径部からなり、鋼板からプレス加工によって形成された芯金と、この芯金に加硫接着により一体に接合されたシール部材とを備え、前記スリンガが、前記内方部材の外径に圧入される円筒部と、この円筒部から径方向外方に延びる立板部とからなり、前記シール部材が、前記芯金の内周面を覆う基部と、この基部から径方向外方に傾斜して形成され、前記スリンガの立板部に所定の軸方向シメシロを介して摺接するサイドリップと、このサイドリップの内径側に径方向内方に傾斜して形成され、前記スリンガの円筒部に所定の径方向シメシロを介して摺接するラジアルリップを備えた車輪用軸受の密封装置において、
このラジアルリップにガータースプリングが装着されると共に、このガータースプリングの緊迫力が、前記ラジアルリップの全緊迫力の50%以上に設定され、前記ラジアルリップのガータースプリングがない状態での緊迫力が3N以上に設定されていることを特徴とする車輪用軸受の密封装置。 - 前記ラジアルリップの常温20℃での緊迫力が12N以上に設定されている請求項1に記載の車輪用軸受の密封装置。
- 前記ラジアルリップの低温−20℃での緊迫力が10N以上に設定されている請求項1または2に記載の車輪用軸受の密封装置。
- 前記シール部材のTR10が−35℃以下に設定されている請求項1に記載の車輪用軸受の密封装置。
- 前記ガータースプリングがステンレス材から形成されている請求項1に記載の車輪用軸受の密封装置。
- 前記芯金の嵌合部の先端部が薄肉に形成され、この先端部を覆うように前記シール部材が回り込んで接合されてハーフメタル構造をなしている請求項1に記載の車輪用軸受の密封装置。
- 前記シール部材の基部が前記芯金の嵌合部の先端部に向かって傾斜して形成され、この端部に前記スリンガの立板部の外縁が僅かな径方向すきまを介して対峙してラビリンスシールを構成すると共に、このラビリンスシールの径方向すきまが0.75mm以下に設定されている請求項1に記載の車輪用軸受の密封装置。
