Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a polyester container and a method for producing the same, and more particularly to a polyester container in which a deposited film is formed on the inner surface and / or the outer surface by a plasma CVD method and a method for producing the same.
Conventionally, in order to improve the characteristics of various base materials, it has been performed to form a deposited film by plasma CVD on the surface. In the field of packaging materials, plasma CVD is applied to plastic base materials such as containers. It is known to improve gas barrier properties by forming a deposited film by the method. For example, by using a mixed gas of an organic silicon compound and oxygen as a reaction gas, a gas barrier property is obtained by forming a silicon oxide vapor deposition film on the surface of a polyester container represented by a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle by plasma CVD. Various techniques have been proposed (see
Various vapor deposition films other than silicon oxide have been studied. For example, in
In the polyester container in which the vapor deposition film as described above is formed, although the improvement of the gas barrier property is surely recognized, the further improvement of the gas barrier property is demanded at present.
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a polyester container having a gas barrier property remarkably improved by forming a deposited film on the inner surface and / or outer surface of the vessel wall and a method for producing the same.
As a result of various studies on the vapor deposition film formed on the container wall of the polyester container, the present inventors have found that by forming a hydrocarbon vapor deposition film having a specific composition, the gas barrier properties are dramatically improved. It came to complete.

In the present invention, the vapor deposition film formed on the inner surface and / or outer surface of the container wall of the polyester container is a hydrocarbon-based vapor deposition film, and in particular, by FT-IR measurement, CH, CH in the region of wave number 3200-2600 cm −1. 2 and CH 3 , and a composition in which the CH 2 ratio per CH, CH 2 and CH 3 calculated from these hydrocarbon peaks is 35% or less and the CH 3 ratio is 40% or more. It is a remarkable feature that it has. For example, refer to FIG. 2 showing an FT-IR chart of a hydrocarbon-based vapor deposition film formed on a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrate prepared in an example described later. According to FIG. 2, there is a peak derived from CH 3 bond of the asymmetric oscillation mode at a wave number of 2960 cm -1, there is a peak derived from CH 2 bond of the asymmetric oscillation mode at a wave number of 2925 cm -1, wave number 2915 cm - 1 shows that a peak derived from CH bonding in an asymmetric vibration mode exists. Hydrocarbon vapor deposited film formed in the present invention, the same attention to the absorption peaks of the vibration mode is calculated their peak intensity as a reference (see Experiment detailed calculation method) CH 2 ratio of these asymmetric oscillation mode Is 35% or less and the CH 3 ratio is 40% or more. A hydrocarbon-based vapor-deposited film having such a composition is used for a polyester container substrate represented by PET. In addition to exhibiting excellent adhesion, the gas barrier properties are dramatically improved.
That is, as shown in the experimental results of Examples and Comparative Examples to be described later, the oxygen barrier property of the PET bottle in which the above hydrocarbon-based vapor deposition film is formed according to the present invention is formed by a known silicon oxide film. It is about 6 times or more higher than that of PET bottles, and its moisture barrier property is improved about 2 times or more. Furthermore, even in the result of a long-term storage test in which a PET bottle having the vapor-deposited film of the present invention formed on the inner surface is filled with water, the vapor-deposited film does not peel at all even when stored at 37 ° C. for 6 months. It can be seen that the adhesion to the resin is also significantly improved.
In the present invention, the reason why the formation of the hydrocarbon-deposited film having the above composition brings about a significant improvement in gas barrier properties has not been clarified accurately, but the present inventors presume as follows. ing.
That is, the fact that the CH 2 ratio and the CH 3 ratio are within the above range means that the film is formed from molecules with many branched structures and has a dense structure at the same time having moderate flexibility. As a result, the barrier property against oxygen and moisture is improved, and the adhesion with the polyester container wall is also improved, so that it is considered that the gas barrier property is remarkably improved. For example, when the hydrocarbon-based vapor deposition film proposed in
As shown in the container wall cross-sectional view of FIG. 1, the polyester container of the present invention has a hydrocarbon-deposited
<Polyester>
In the present invention, as the polyester constituting the
The PET is not limited to a homopolymer. For example, the ester repeating unit is 70 mol% or more, particularly 80 mol% or more occupies the ethylene terephthalate unit, and the glass transition point (Tg) is 50 to 90 ° C., In particular, if it is in the range of 55 to 80 ° C. and the melting point (Tm) is in the range of about 200 to 275 ° C., particularly about 220 to 270 ° C., it contains other polyester units as copolymerized units. You can. Examples of such other polyester units include dibasic acids other than terephthalic acid, aromatic carboxylic acids such as isophthalic acid, phthalic acid, and naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, alicyclic dicarboxylic acids such as cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid, succinic acid, and adipine. Polyester units using aliphatic dicarboxylic acids such as acid, sebacic acid and dodecanedioic acid, and diol components other than ethylene glycol include propylene glycol, 1,4-butanediol, diethylene glycol, 1,6-hexylene glycol, Mention may be made of polyester units in which cyclohexanedimethanol, ethylene oxide adduct of bisphenol A and the like are used.
The polyester has a molecular weight sufficient to form at least a film, and generally has an intrinsic viscosity (IV) of 0.6 to 1.4 dL / g, particularly 0.63 to 1.3 dL / g. The injection grade and the extrusion grade are used depending on the molding means for the container.
In addition, the polyester container in which the hydrocarbon-based vapor deposition film is to be formed is formed by, for example, a test tube shape or a sheet shape preform by extrusion molding, injection molding or the like using the above polyester, and then biaxial stretch blow molding, It is formed into a bottle-shaped or cup-shaped container by blow molding using a blow mold such as direct blow molding or vacuum molding such as plug assist molding. Moreover, the bag-shaped container obtained by bonding together the polyester film in which the hydrocarbon type vapor deposition film was formed by the method mentioned later may be sufficient.
<Hydrocarbon vapor deposition film>
In the present invention, the above-described hydrocarbon-based
In such plasma CVD, for example, a polyester container to be formed is placed in a chamber maintained at a predetermined degree of vacuum, and when forming a film on the inner surface of the container, the inside of the container is evacuated to a predetermined vacuum. The film can be formed on the inner surface of the container wall by supplying a predetermined reaction gas to the inside of the container while maintaining the temperature and supplying a microwave with a predetermined output. In the case of high frequency, the container is held between a pair of electrodes, and film formation is performed by applying a high frequency with a predetermined output while supplying a reaction gas, as described above. When forming a film on the outer surface of the container, the film is formed by supplying a predetermined reaction gas to the outside of the container while keeping the outside of the container at a predetermined degree of vacuum and supplying a microwave or applying a high frequency.
In the present invention, the hydrocarbon-based
Further, the abundance ratio of each of the above bond structures can be calculated based on a spectrum obtained from FT-IR, and can be obtained from a value obtained by multiplying each peak intensity by an absorbance coefficient specific to each absorption peak. Specifically, it is necessary from the viewpoint of barrier properties that the CH 2 ratio is 35% or less and the CH 3 ratio is 40% or more with respect to the total amount of each binding component. By having such a composition, the hydrocarbon-based vapor-deposited
Moreover, in this invention, it is also possible to introduce | transduce a polar group into said hydrocarbon-type
Such a polar group may be any group that can form a hydrogen bond with a carbonyl group, and examples thereof include a hydroxyl group, an amino group, an amide group, a carboxyl group, and an ester group. A hydroxyl group (OH group) is most preferred because it can be easily introduced into the film without being decomposed inside. The presence of such a polar group can be easily confirmed by FT-IR measurement. For example, an OH group exhibits an absorption peak in a region having a wave number of 3200 to 3800 cm −1 . Moreover, the introduction of the polar group can be easily realized by using a polar group-containing organic compound or a compound that generates a polar group by a reaction at the time of film formation in combination.
Further, the hydrocarbon-based
<Film formation conditions>
In the present invention, a hydrocarbon compound is used to form the hydrocarbon-based vapor-deposited
In addition, when the above-described polar group is introduced into the hydrocarbon-based
In addition, when performing plasma CVD using a reactive gas in which a gas of a polar group-containing organic compound as described above is mixed with a gas of a hydrocarbon-based compound, the gas of the hydrocarbon-based compound and the polar group-containing organic compound The gas is preferably supplied at a flow rate ratio of 99.8: 0.2 to 90.0: 10.0. If the flow rate of the polar group-containing organic compound is small, the improvement of the bonding strength of the
In the present invention, plasma CVD using a hydrocarbon compound gas as described above or a mixed gas of a hydrocarbon compound gas and a polar group-containing organic compound gas as a reactive gas is performed by microwave. Alternatively, it is performed by glow discharge using high frequency, and the desired hydrocarbon-based vapor deposition film is obtained. Compared with the case where a conventionally known hydrocarbon-based vapor deposition film is formed in order to obtain the above-described composition. Then, it is necessary to perform plasma CVD by glow discharge using microwaves or high frequencies at a relatively high output. Specifically, both the microwave and high frequency outputs should be 450 W or more, and in the case of microwaves, 500 W or more and 1200 W or less are more preferable, and 600 W or more and 900 W or less are more preferable. It is. For high frequencies, an output of 450 to 950 W is preferred. That is, in the case of low output, the CH 2 ratio becomes larger than the above-mentioned range, and as a result, a dense layer cannot be obtained and the barrier property against oxygen and moisture becomes unsatisfactory. Further, if the output is increased more than necessary, the
Further, in the present invention, when a polar group is introduced into a film using a mixed gas of a hydrocarbon-based compound gas and a polar group-containing organic compound gas as a reactive gas, the initial output is set to a low output, and finally It is also possible to perform plasma CVD at a relatively high output as described above. That is, when film formation is performed by plasma CVD at low output, radical decomposition of polar groups is suppressed, and as a result, a film structure in which polar groups such as OH groups are distributed on the surface side of the
In the present invention, since the plasma reaction is performed by the above-described microwave discharge with a relatively high output or high frequency, the film formation time is preferably in the range of 0.5 to 4 seconds. That is, if the film formation time becomes longer than necessary, the
In the present invention, the ratio of CH, CH 2 and CH 3 is within the range described above by performing plasma CVD using microwaves or high frequency with the output in the above range and setting the film formation time as described above. And a hydrocarbon-based
In the case where the hydrocarbon-based
In the present invention in which film formation is performed in this manner, the film formation time is short, and thermal deformation and thermal deterioration of the

(Vapor deposition test container)
A PET bottle having an internal volume of 470 ml obtained by biaxially stretching blow-molding a polyethylene terephthalate preform was used.
(Vapor deposition treatment)
For plasma CVD deposition, a method known per se was used. A plastic container to be formed into a film was stored in a chamber maintained at a predetermined degree of vacuum, and then a test gas was supplied, and a predetermined microwave was supplied to form a film. A hydrocarbon film was formed by using 150 sccm of acetylene as a source gas, introducing the gas into the plastic container, and outputting a microwave of 2.45 GHz for 1 to 4 seconds. Similarly, using a mixed gas (total aeration rate 150 sccm) in which acetylene and oxygen-containing organic carbon gas (ethanol, methanol, acetone, CO 2 ) were mixed, a 2.45 GHz microwave was output to form a film. After film formation, the bottle was opened to the atmosphere, and the bottle was taken out from the vapor deposition apparatus. In addition, about the test gas composition for every experiment, it described in each experiment example.

The deposited film dispersion dispersed in HFIP was dropped on a KRS-5 plate and dried.
-FT-IR measurement-
Using the microscopic infrared FT-IR apparatus (manufactured by JASCO Corporation FT / IR 6300), it was measured by the transmission method (measurement frequency range: 600cm -1 ~4000cm -1).
After the baseline correction of the measured spectrum, it was assigned based on the literature (B. Diskler, E-Mas Meeting, June 1987, Vol. XVII, 189). From the range of 2600
Regarding the peak intensities of the CH 3 absorption band (2960 cm −1 ), CH 2 absorption band (2925 cm −1 ), and CH absorption band (2915 cm −1 ) in the asymmetric vibration mode, each peak has an absorbance coefficient of 0.31 (2960 cm). −1 ), 0.29 (2925 cm −1 ), and 0.14 (2915 cm −1 ) were used to determine the amount of each structural component ( reference : Polymer Analytical Handbook).
For the peak intensity corrected by the absorptivity coefficient, the sum of CH 3 absorption band (2960 cm −1 ), CH 2 absorption band (2925 cm −1 ), and CH absorption band (2915 cm −1 ) is defined as 100, and according to the following formula, CH 3 , CH 2 , CH structural component ratios were determined.
Incidentally, here, in order to relatively compare the component amounts of CH 3 , CH 2 , and CH, attention was paid to asymmetric vibration in which all constituent carbons are observed. Furthermore, since the CH 2 peak intensity is a characteristic in which the asymmetric vibration mode peak is observed to be stronger than the symmetric vibration mode peak intensity, attention was paid to the asymmetric vibration. Therefore, the absorption band (CH 2 + CH 3 mixed absorption band; 2860 cm −1 ) of the symmetric vibration mode was deleted from the calculation.
CH3(%)= I(CH3)×100/{I(CH3)+I(CH2)+I(CH)}
CH2(%)= I(CH2)×100/{I(CH3)+I(CH2)+I(CH)}
CH1(%)= I(CH1)×100/{I(CH3)+I(CH2)+I(CH)}
CH 3 (%) = I (CH 3 ) × 100 / {I (CH 3 ) + I (CH 2 ) + I (CH)}
CH 2 (%) = I (CH 2 ) × 100 / {I (CH 3 ) + I (CH 2 ) + I (CH)}
CH 1 (%) = I (CH 1 ) × 100 / {I (CH 3 ) + I (CH 2 ) + I (CH)}
I (CH 3 ) = (CH 3 : 2960 cm −1 ) curve fitting value × absorbed luminous intensity coefficient (0.31)
I (CH 2 ) = (CH 2 : 2925 cm −1 ) curve fitting value × absorbed light intensity coefficient (0.29)
I (CH) = (CH: 2915 cm −1 ) curve fitting value × absorbed luminous intensity coefficient (0.14)
In addition, for the OH infrared absorption peaks of 3200cm -1 ~3800cm -1, without correction by absorbance coefficient, using the observed values of the peak intensity itself, (2800cm -1 ~3200cm -1) between peak intensity And (3200 cm −1 to 3800 cm −1 ) as the denominator, and (3200 cm −1 to 3800 cm −1 ) as the numerator, the relative OH group amount is calculated, ).

(Film thickness measurement)
At the time of vapor deposition of the test bottle, a silicon wafer of 20 mm × 20 mm piece was inserted into the inner surface of the bottle, and a vapor deposition film for each experimental example was separately formed on the silicon wafer. Next, using a grazing incidence X-ray (Grazing Incidence X-ray) measuring device (X'PertPROMRD made by thin film X-ray analyzer PANalytical) and using CuKα rays, the incident angle is 0.1 ° to 2.5 °. Scanning (step: 0.003 °) was performed to measure the X-ray reflection intensity. The measured X-ray reflection curve was analyzed with WinGixa software attached to the X-ray apparatus, and the film thickness was determined.
