Abstract
Description
Claims (51)
- 複数の電極を有するタッチセンス領域に対する物体の位置に基づく属性を検出する方法であって、
前記物体の位置によって電気的に影響された結果信号を得るために、前記複数の電極の関連する少なくとも1つに印加される複数の変調信号の作成に使用する複数の別個のディジタル符号を作成するステップと、
前記複数の別個のディジタル符号を使用して前記結果信号を復調し、前記物体によって引き起こされた電気的効果を選別するステップと、
前記電気的効果から、前記複数の電極に対する前記物体の前記位置に基づく属性を決定するステップとを含む方法。 - 前記決定ステップは、前記電気的効果の少なくとも1つのピーク値を識別するステップを有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記決定ステップは、前記電気的効果の重心を計算するステップを有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記決定ステップは、少なくとも2つの電極から受信された前記電気的効果の差を決定するステップを有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記決定ステップは、前記電気的効果を、以前に決定されたベースラインの効果と比較するステップを有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記位置に基づく属性は、複数の電極に対する前記物体の位置に対応している請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記位置に基づく属性は、複数の電極に対する前記物体の移動を記述している請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記位置に基づく属性は、以前の値からの位置の変化を記述している請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記位置に基づく属性は、前記物体の速度を記述している請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記位置に基づく属性は、前記物体の加速度を記述している請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の別個のディジタル符号の各々は実質的に直交している請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の符号の各々は最大長シフトレジスタシーケンスから導出された符号のかなりの部分を占める請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の別個のディジタル符号の少なくとも一部は、前記検知された信号のノイズの影響を回避するように選択される請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の別個のディジタル符号のそれぞれを生成するステップを更に有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記生成するステップは、少なくとも1つのシフトレジスタを使用して複数の別個のディジタル符号を作成するステップを有する請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記変調信号は、前記複数の電極のうちの少なくとも2つに実質的に同時に印加される請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記復調するステップは、前記検知領域から、前記検知信号のうちの少なくとも2つを共通の信号経路で受信するステップを有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記電気的効果は、前記物体と、前記関連する電極の少なくとも一部の間の電気的結合の結果生じる請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記電気的結合は容量結合である請求項18に記載の方法。
- 前記電気的効果は、前記複数の電極のうちの少なくとも2つに結合された積分コンデンサから得られる請求項18に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の別個のディジタル符号の補数の関数として、複数の相補変調信号の各々を作成するステップと、
複数の相補検知信号を得るために、前記複数の電極の前記関連する少なくとも1つの電極に前記相補変調信号のそれぞれを印加するステップと、を更に有する請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記複数の電極の前記少なくとも1つに関連する前記別個のディジタル符号を使用して、前記複数の相補検知信号のそれぞれを復調し、前記複数の電極から相補電気的効果を識別するステップと、
デュアルディファレンシャル変換を実行するために、前記電気的効果を前記相補電気的効果と比較するステップと、を更に有する請求項21に記載の方法。 - 前記複数の検知信号に応じて、前記複数の電極の少なくとも1つにその後印加する、前記別個のディジタル符号を調整するステップを更に有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記検知信号に応じて、別個の前記変調信号の少なくとも1つを調整するステップを更に有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記タッチセンス領域の近くにある第2の物体に関する情報を得るために前記結果信号を処理するステップを更に有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記物体と前記第2の物体とは、人の手の別の部分である請求項25に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の物体に関する情報を拒否するステップを更に有する請求項25に記載の方法。
- 前記決定するステップは、前記物体の像を定義するステップを有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記像は、前記タッチセンス領域に投影された前記物体の二次元表現を表している請求項28に記載の方法。
- 処理前記タッチセンス領域の近くにあり、第2の像を有する第2の物体に関する情報を得るために、前記結果信号を処理するステップを更に有する請求項28に記載の方法。
- 前記タッチセンス領域に対する前記像の移動と前記第2の像の移動とをトラッキングするステップを更に有する請求項30に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の像が不要な入力を表すかどうかを判定し、不要な入力の場合には、前記第2の像を拒否するステップを更に有する請求項30に記載の方法。
- 前記別個のディジタル符号は3以上の状態を有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の変調信号を作成するステップは、前記複数の別個のディジタル符号のそれぞれによってキャリア信号を振幅変調するステップを有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の電極は、第1の方向を有する第1の複数の電極と、第2の方向を有する第2の複数の電極とを有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の変調信号のそれぞれが、前記第1の複数の電極に印加され、前記第2の複数の電極を介して受信される請求項35に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の複数の電極の少なくとも1つの非駆動電極に保護信号を印加するステップを更に有する請求項35に記載の方法。
- 前記印加ステップは、前記複数の電極の少なくとも2つに前記変調信号の少なくとも1つを印加するステップを有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 物体の位置に基づく属性を検出するためのタッチセンス装置であって、
前記物体の近接度に影響されるように構成された電気的特性を有する複数の電極を有するタッチセンス領域と、
前記電極のそれぞれに関連する駆動回路と、
前記タッチセンス領域に結合された復調器と、
前記駆動回路および前記復調器に結合されたプロセッサとを有し、
前記プロセッサは、複数の別個のディジタル符号の関数として複数の変調信号の作成を開始し、前記駆動回路を介して前記複数の電極への前記複数の変調信号のそれぞれの印加を開始し、前記物体によって少なくとも1つの検知電極に引き起こされた電気的効果を選別するために、前記ディジタル符号を使用して前記検知領域から受信した検知信号を復調し、前記電気的効果から、前記複数の電極に対する前記位置に基づく属性を決定するように構成されている装置。 - 前記駆動回路は、キャリア信号を発生させるように構成されたアナログ信号生成器と、前記複数の別個のディジタル符号のそれぞれによって前記キャリア信号を振幅変調させ、固有の変調信号を作成する変調器とを有する請求項39に記載の装置。
- 前記タッチセンス装置は、ユーザに触覚フィードバックを提供するように構成された実質的に硬質の面を更に有する請求項39に記載の装置。
- 前記実質的に硬質の面は、前記電気的効果に実質的に影響せずに前記触覚フィードバックを提供するように更に構成されている請求項41に記載の装置。
- 前記実質的に硬質の面は、前記複数の電極の互いに対する位置に実質的に影響せずに前記触覚フィードバックを提供するように更に構成されている請求項41に記載の装置。
- 前記物体と前記タッチセンス領域との接触により、前記複数の電極の少なくとも2つの間の電気的結合が低下する請求項39に記載の装置。
- 前記複数の電極の前記少なくとも2つは、第1の方向を有する第1の電極と、前記第1の方向に実質的に直交する第2の方向を有する第2の電極とを有する請求項44に記載の装置。
- 前記複数の電極の少なくとも一部と前記復調器とに電気的に結合されたコンデンサを更に有する請求項39に記載の方法。
- 前記コンデンサは、前記複数の電極の前記少なくとも一部から受け取った電荷を蓄積するように構成されている請求項46に記載の方法。
- 前記物体は指である請求項39に記載の方法。
- 前記物体はスタイラスである請求項39に記載の方法。
- 前記タッチセンス領域は、可撓性基板に形成されている請求項39に記載の方法。
- 複数の電極を有するタッチセンス領域に対する物体の位置に基づく属性を検出する装置であって、
前記物体の位置によって電気的に影響された結果信号を得るために、前記複数の電極の関連する少なくとも1つに印加される複数の変調信号の作成に使用する複数の別個のディジタル符号を作成する手段と、
前記複数の別個のディジタル符号を使用して前記結果信号を復調し、前記物体によって引き起こされた電気的効果を選別する手段と、
前記電気的効果から、前記複数の電極に対する前記物体の前記位置に基づく属性を決定する手段と、を有する装置。
