Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a technique for producing a powder using plasma generated by microwave energy. The powder produced by the present invention is various inorganic particles having a desired composition. Typically, the present invention reacts carbon monoxide with steam in a powdery reforming catalyst used when producing hydrogen by steam reforming hydrocarbon fuels such as alcohol, methane, and kerosene. In the case of the magnetic powder mainly composed of inorganic catalyst and carrier, adsorbent, and Fe, Ni, etc. exemplified by the powdery carbon monoxide conversion catalyst used when converting carbon monoxide, The present invention relates to a technique for producing a magnetic material used for a magnetic head, a magnetic tape, a floppy disk (registered trademark), etc., or a powder used for a column filler for gas chromatography, an electronic material, medical use, and the like.
As a technique for producing a powder such as a reforming catalyst or a magnetic powder, a precipitation method for obtaining a precipitate by adjusting the pH or temperature of an aqueous solution containing a desired component element is generally known. However, the precipitation method has a drawback that it is difficult to obtain a precipitate having a desired composition and the operation is complicated, and a large amount of water is used.
However, in the case of the method described in
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to easily ignite plasma when manufacturing powder using plasma generated by microwave energy, and to prevent damage to the reaction tube due to high heat. is there.
In order to solve the above-described problems, according to the present invention, a powder manufacturing apparatus that manufactures powder using plasma generated by microwave energy, the plasma supplying a plasma generation gas into a reaction tube Provided is a powder production apparatus, comprising: a product gas supply mechanism; a raw material supply mechanism for supplying powder raw material into the reaction tube; and a microwave propagation mechanism for propagating microwave energy into the reaction tube. Is done.
Further, according to the present invention, there is provided a powder manufacturing apparatus for manufacturing powder using plasma generated by microwave energy, a plasma generating gas supply mechanism for supplying a plasma generating gas into a reaction tube, It has a raw material supply mechanism for supplying a powder raw material into the reaction tube, a microwave propagation mechanism for propagating microwave energy in the reaction tube, and a powder collection mechanism for collecting powder. A powder manufacturing apparatus is provided.
In the present invention, the plasma generation gas supply mechanism and the microwave propagation mechanism are provided separately, and the plasma generation gas and the powder raw material are separately supplied into the reaction tube. For this reason, compared with the case where the powder raw material is sprayed into the reaction tube together with the plasma generating gas as in the prior art, the mixing of the powder raw material into the plasma generating gas can be reduced. As a result, it is possible to form a region where the plasma generation gas exists in the reaction tube with high purity, and it is possible to stably ignite the plasma in this region. As a result, it is possible to reliably generate plasma in the reaction tube and smoothly perform powder production using the plasma.
Here, the powder collecting mechanism may include a spray chamber in which the powder collecting liquid is sprinkled, and the lower part of the reaction tube may be inserted into the spray chamber. In addition, a liquid storage container may be disposed below the spray chamber, and a collection filter may be provided so as to partition the interior of the spray chamber and the interior of the liquid storage container. Moreover, you may have a pump which attracts | sucks the powder collection liquid in the said liquid reservoir container, and sprays the powder collection liquid in the said spray chamber. Furthermore, the atmosphere in the spray chamber may be introduced into a trap container.
The reaction tube is made of, for example, quartz which is a dielectric. The reaction tube may have a double structure including an inner wall and an outer wall, and a refrigerant flow path may be formed between the inner wall and the outer wall.
The plasma generation gas supply mechanism preferably discharges the plasma generation gas along the inner surface of the reaction tube. Thus, by forming the flow of the plasma generation gas along the inner surface of the reaction tube, it is possible to avoid the powder raw material from contacting the inner surface of the reaction tube. As a result, the powder raw material that has absorbed the microwave energy and becomes high in temperature does not come into contact with the inner surface of the reaction tube, so that melting and breakage of the inner surface of the reaction tube are prevented. In this case, the reaction tube may be, for example, a circular tube, and the plasma generation gas may flow spirally along the inner surface of the reaction tube.
In order to avoid the powder raw material from contacting the inner surface of the reaction tube, the raw material supply mechanism may supply the powder raw material into the reaction tube at a position away from the inner surface of the reaction tube. preferable. Moreover, it is preferable that the raw material supply mechanism discharges the powder raw material in a direction not directed to the inner surface of the reaction tube.
In addition, the raw material supply mechanism may include a sprayer that generates a powder raw material by forming a powder raw material aqueous solution into fine particles. In the sprayer, the powder raw material may be generated by the action of ultrasonic vibration transmitted through the water. Moreover, the powder raw material produced | generated with the said sprayer may be supplied to the said reaction tube with carrier gas.
The microwave propagation mechanism is, for example, a waveguide. In addition, the powder manufacturing apparatus of this invention can be utilized for manufacture of a powder catalyst, for example.
Further, according to the present invention, there is provided a powder manufacturing method for manufacturing powder using plasma generated by microwave energy, wherein a plasma generating gas and a powder raw material are separately supplied into a reaction tube, There is provided a powder manufacturing method characterized in that microwave energy is propagated in the reaction tube to convert a plasma generation gas into a plasma to manufacture powder from a powder raw material.
In this powder manufacturing method, when supplying the plasma generating gas into the reaction tube, the plasma generating gas may be discharged along the inner surface of the reaction tube. In this case, the reaction tube may be, for example, a circular tube, and the plasma generation gas may flow spirally along the inner surface of the reaction tube.
In addition, when supplying the powder raw material into the reaction tube, the powder raw material may be supplied into the reaction tube at a position away from the inner surface of the reaction tube. Further, when supplying the powder raw material into the reaction tube, the powder raw material may be discharged in a direction not directed to the inner surface of the reaction tube.
Further, the reaction tube may be cooled. Moreover, the powder manufacturing method of this invention can be utilized for manufacture of a powder catalyst, for example.
According to the present invention, the plasma generation gas and the powder raw material are separately supplied into the reaction tube, whereby the mixing of the plasma generation gas and the powder raw material in the reaction tube can be reduced as much as possible. As a result, a region in which the plasma generation gas exists in the reaction tube with high purity is formed, and in this region, the plasma can be stably ignited, and powder production by plasma can be performed smoothly.
Further, by forming the flow of the plasma generation gas along the inner surface of the reaction tube, it is possible to avoid the powder raw material from contacting the inner surface of the reaction tube. As a result, the powder raw material that has absorbed the microwave energy and becomes high in temperature does not come into contact with the inner surface of the reaction tube, so that melting and breakage of the inner surface of the reaction tube are prevented. Moreover, since the breakage of the reaction tube is prevented, the power of the microwave generator can be increased, and the production capacity can be improved.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is an explanatory diagram of a
Around the
The raw

The plasma generation
As shown in FIG. 2, the
A
In this case, since the

In this case, since the
As shown in FIG. 4, the
As shown in FIG. 2, a
An
Inside the
As shown in FIG. 1, the lower part of the
The atmosphere in the
In the
Then, when the microwave is propagated from the
In this
Further, since the powder raw material a flows along the central axis of the
In addition, when supplying the powder raw material a into the
As mentioned above, although an example of preferable embodiment of this invention was demonstrated, this invention is not limited to the form of illustration. It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various changes and modifications can be made within the scope of the ideas described in the claims, and these are naturally within the technical scope of the present invention. It is understood that it belongs.
For example, in the above-described embodiment, the example in which the plasma generation gas b is flowed spirally along the inner surface (inner wall 36) of the
Further, in order to propagate the microwave energy into the
The plasma generation gas b supplied into the
Examples of the powder raw material a include metals that act as catalytic active components such as noble metals, transition metals, rare earths, alkali metals, and alkaline earths. A powder raw material aqueous solution a ′ can be prepared using nitrates, chlorides, sulfates, carbonates, acetates, bromides, phosphates, oxalates, organometallic complexes, and the like, which are metal salts of these metals. it can. For example, in the case of nickel, nickel nitrate, nickel chloride, nickel sulfate, nickel bromide, hexaammine nickel chloride, etc. can be used.
The carrier gas used when supplying the powder raw material a into the
Further, when it is desired to reduce the catalyst component, for example, hydrogen gas, H 2 S, NH 3 , CH 4 or the like may be added to the carrier gas as the reducing gas. In this case, it can be prevented from being oxidized by water vapor, or even once oxidized by plasma, it can be reduced again by the reducing gas. However, when the oxidation and reduction are not required and only thermal decomposition is performed, only the carrier gas may be used.
Further, instead of the oxidizing gas or reducing gas, a water-soluble oxidizing agent or reducing agent is added to the powder raw material aqueous solution a ′ and introduced into the
The example in which the powder c produced by pyrolysis is collected by the

It is desirable to use it.

The ease of plasma ignition was investigated by propagating microwaves in the plasma generation gas. As the plasma generation gas, a comparison was made between a plasma generation gas composed of only Ar gas and a plasma generation gas obtained by adding vapor to Ar gas. The results are shown in Table 1. In the case of using a plasma generation gas composed only of Ar gas, the plasma could be ignited in the range of input power of 400 to 1000 W. On the other hand, when a plasma generation gas obtained by adding vapor to Ar gas is used, the plasma cannot be ignited when the input power is in the range of 400 to 600 W, and the input power is increased to the range of 800 to 1000 W. Otherwise, the plasma could not be ignited.

As the plasma generation gas, a comparison was made between a plasma generation gas composed of only Ar gas and a plasma generation gas obtained by adding vapor to Ar gas. The results are shown in Table 2. When a plasma generation gas consisting only of Ar gas was flowed into the reaction tube, the reaction tube was not damaged when the input power ranged from 400 to 1000 W. On the other hand, when a plasma generation gas obtained by adding vapor to Ar gas was flowed into the reaction tube, when the input power was 400 W, the reaction tube was not damaged, but the input power was 600 to 1000 W. Raising the range resulted in damage to the reaction tube.
