Abstract
【解決手段】液晶層に対して赤色、青色及び緑色の3原色光を夫々対応する画素に直接入射させるカラー液晶表示装置のバックライトにおいて、第1の導光板4と、この第1の導光板4の第1の側面における第1の領域に3原色光のうちの第1の原色光を入射させる第1入射部1と、第1の導光板4の第1の側面に対向する第2の側面における第2の領域に3原色光のうちの第2の原色光を入射させる第2入射部2と、第1の導光板4の裏面における第3の領域に3原色光のうちの第3の原色光を入射させる第3入射部3とを有するカラー液晶表示装置のバックライトを形成する。

Claims (8)
- 液晶層に対して赤色、青色及び緑色の3原色光を夫々対応する画素に直接入射させるカラー液晶表示装置のバックライトにおいて、第1の導光板と、この第1の導光板の第1の側面における第1の領域に前記3原色光のうちの第1の原色光を入射させる第1入射部と、前記第1の導光板の前記第1の側面に対向する第2の側面における第2の領域に前記3原色光のうちの第2の原色光を入射させる第2入射部と、前記第1の導光板の裏面における第3の領域に前記3原色光のうちの第3の原色光を入射させる第3入射部とを有することを特徴とするカラー液晶表示装置のバックライト。
- 前記第1入射部は前記第1の側面に設けられ前記第1の原色光を発光する第1発光ダイオードと、前記第1の側面における前記第1の領域以外の領域に設けられた第1遮光膜とを有し、前記第2入射部は前記第2の側面に設けられ前記第2の原色光を発光する第2発光ダイオードと、前記第2の側面における前記第2の領域以外の領域に設けられた第2遮光膜とを有し、前記第3入射部は前記第1の導光板の裏面に設けられた第2の導光板と、前記裏面における前記第3の領域以外の領域に設けられた第3遮光膜と、前記第2の導光板に第3の原色光を入射する第3発光ダイオードとを有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカラー液晶表示装置のバックライト。
- 前記第1の導光板は、第1の領域から入射した第1の原色光が占める領域と、第2の領域から入射した第2の原色光が占める領域と、第3の領域から入射した第3の原色光が占める領域とが、出射面からみて、帯状に相互に平行に交互に配置されていることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のカラー液晶表示装置のバックライト。
- 前記第1及び第2の導光板の表面にプリズムが形成され、前記第1及び第2の導光板からの出射光の指向性を高めていることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載のカラー液晶表示装置のバックライト。
- 前記第1及び第2の導光板の表面に光を散乱させる凹凸が形成され、前記第1及び第2の導光板からの出射光を散乱させることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載のカラー液晶表示装置のバックライト。
- 前記第1及び第2の導光板の表面に電気的信号により透過又は散乱の状態に変化させることができる散乱シートが設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載のカラー液晶表示装置のバックライト。
- 液晶層と、この液晶層に対して赤色、青色及び緑色の3原色光を夫々対応する画素に直接入射させるカラー液晶表示装置のバックライトとを有し、前記バックライトは第1の導光板と、この第1の導光板の第1の側面における第1の領域に前記3原色光のうちの第1の原色光を入射させる第1入射部と、前記第1の導光板の前記第1の側面に対向する第2の側面における第2の領域に前記3原色光のうちの第2の原色光を入射させる第2入射部と、前記第1の導光板の裏面における第3の領域に前記3原色光のうちの第3の原色光を入射させる第3入射部とを有することを特徴とするカラー液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1入射部は前記第1の側面に設けられ前記第1の原色光を発光する第1発光ダイオードと、前記第1の側面における前記第1の領域以外の領域に設けられた第1遮光膜とを有し、前記第2入射部は前記第2の側面に設けられ前記第2の原色光を発光する第2発光ダイオードと、前記第2の側面における前記第2の領域以外の領域に設けられた第2遮光膜とを有し、前記第3入射部は前記第1の導光板の裏面に設けられた第2の導光板と、前記裏面における前記第3の領域以外の領域に設けられた第3遮光膜と、前記第2の導光板に第3の原色光を入射する第3発光ダイオードとを有することを特徴とする請求項7に記載のカラー液晶表示装置。
