Abstract
【解決手段】画素アレイ12は、画像信号のレベルに応じた輝度で発光して1フレームごとに画像を画面に表示するとともに、デューティ比で規定された発光時間だけ各フレーム内で画面の発光を持続する。寿命制御部16Aは、発光素子の寿命を延ばす様に、画像信号の最大信号許容レベル及びデューティ比を同時に調整する。信号出力部14Aは、調整された最大信号許容レベル内で画像信号を画素アレイ12に出力して画面を表示駆動する。デューティ比伝達部13Dは、調整されたデューティ比を画素アレイ12に伝達しこれによって規定された発光時間だけ画面を発光動作させる。

Claims (4)
- 画素アレイと寿命制御部とデューティ比伝達部と信号出力部とを有する表示装置であって、
前記画素アレイは、発光素子からなる画素の集合で画面を構成し、画像信号のレベルに応じた輝度で発光して1フレームごとに画像を画面に表示するとともに、デューティ比で規定された発光時間だけ各フレーム内で画面の発光を持続し、
前記寿命制御部は、該発光素子の寿命を延ばす様に、該画像信号の最大信号許容レベル及び該デューティ比を同時に調整し、
前記信号出力部は、該調整された最大信号許容レベル内で該画像信号を該画素アレイに出力して画面を表示駆動し、
前記デューティ比伝達部は、該調整されたデューティ比を該画素アレイに伝達しこれによって規定された発光時間だけ該画面を発光動作させることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記寿命制御部は、入力された画像信号に適応してリアルタイムで該最大信号許容レベル及び該デューティ比を自動的に調整することを特徴とする請求項1記載の表示装置。
- 前記寿命制御部は、入力された画像信号から画像の平均輝度をを検出し、該検出した平均輝度が高くなる程フレーム当りの発光時間を規定するデューティ比を小さくすると同時に、該画像信号の最大信号許容レベルを下げることを特徴とする請求項2記載の表示装置。
- 発光素子からなる画素の集合で画面を構成し、画像信号のレベルに応じた輝度で発光して1フレームごとに画像を画面に表示するとともに、デューティ比で規定された発光時間だけ各フレーム内で画面の発光を持続する表示装置の駆動方法であって、
該発光素子の寿命を延ばす様に、該画像信号の最大信号許容レベル及び該デューティ比を同時に調整する寿命制御過程と、
該調整された最大信号許容レベル内で該画像信号を該画素アレイに出力して画面を表示駆動する信号出力過程と、
該調整されたデューティ比を該画素アレイに伝達しこれによって規定された発光時間だけ該画面を発光動作させるデューティ比伝達過程とを含むことを特徴とする表示装置の駆動方法。
