Abstract
Description
本願は、2001年11月27日に出願されたピンチコフ等の同時係属米国特許出願第09/993,596号(以下、「ピンチコフ等」という場合がある)及び2001年10月1日に出願されたマスロフ等の同時係属米国特許出願第09/996,102号(以下、「マスロフ等」という場合がある)に関係付けられた要旨を含んでいる。これら同時係属米国特許出願の開示内容を本明細書の一部を形成するものとしてここに引用する。
本発明は、電気式車両に関し、特に駆動モータ要素、制御回路及び電源が1以上の車輪に内蔵された車両に関する。
上述のピンチコフ等及びマスロフ等の米国特許出願明細書は、有利には車両及び他の環境内で使用できる高効率のバッテリ式電気モータ駆動装置の開発を記載している。これら米国特許出願は、最小電力使用消費量で高トルク出力能力を維持しながら広い速度範囲にわたりスムーズな作動を達成するという課題に取り組んでいる。パルス幅、デューティーサイクルを正確に変化させることによりモータ巻線に適用されるパルス化通電及びバッテリ源の切換え利用の電子制御により、モータ特性の広範な機能的融通性及び柔軟性のある管理が可能になる。
本発明は、車輪コンパートメント内に収納されたモータ、コントローラ、電源及び充電器を有する電気式の車両、例えば自転車を提供することにより上述の要望を少なくとも或る程度満たす。円筒形ステータフレームが、車軸に固定され、円筒形ステータフレームの内面が電源を収容する空間を構成している。複数の電磁石ステータセグメントが、ステータフレームの外面に沿ってぐるりと分布した状態でこれに取り付けられている。円筒形ロータフレームが、軸受を介して車軸に結合されている。ロータフレームの内面は、複数の永久磁石を支持し、これら永久磁石は、ステータセグメントとの間に半径方向空隙を形成するようステータセグメントを包囲した状態でかかる内面の周りに分布して設けられている。ロータフレームの外面は、支持構造体、例えば自転車のスポークフレームを介して外面に取り付けられ又は外面に直接取り付けることができるタイヤを支持する。モータ、電源及びモータ制御回路は全て、容易に接近可能な自転車の前輪又は後輪のハブに内臓可能である。種々のロータ及びステータの構造的形態及び起電力を発生させるモータ制御方式の詳細については、上述の米国特許出願明細書を参照されたい。
図1は、本発明の一例を示している。自転車10は、前輪12及び図示していない車軸を介してフレーム16に結合された後輪14を有している。また、ハンドルバー18(これらのうち1つだけが図示されている)及び座席20がフレームに結合されている。車両の推進は、後輪に結合された標準型ペダル及びチェーン伝動装置及び後輪及び後輪内のハブ領域22内に収納された電気モータ駆動装置により得られる。以下により詳細に説明するように、ハブは、モータ、コントローラ要素及び電源を収容している。フレーム16に取り付けられたケーブル24が、ハンドルバーのところでハブとスイッチ及びスロットル(図示せず)との間に接続されている。オペレータは、スイッチをオンにしてケーブル24を介するモータ、モータコントローラ及び電源の回路を閉じることによりモータ駆動装置を作動させることができる。
Claims (18)
- 電気式車両であって、車輪を有し、車輪は、車軸と、車軸に固定されていて、内面が電源を収容する空間を構成している円筒形ステータフレームと、ステータフレームの外面に沿ってぐるりと分布した状態でこれに取り付けられた複数の電磁石ステータセグメントと、軸受を介して車軸に結合された円筒形ロータフレームとを有し、ロータフレームの内面は、複数の永久磁石を支持し、前記永久磁石は、ステータセグメントとの間に半径方向空隙を形成するためにステータセグメントを包囲するよう分布して設けられており、前記車輪は、ロータフレームの外面に装着されたタイヤを更に有していることを特徴とする車両。
- 電源は、複数のバッテリから成ることを特徴とする請求項1記載の車両。
- 複数のバッテリは、単1電池であることを特徴とする請求項2記載の車両。
- 円筒形ステータフレームの空間は、電磁石ステータセグメントを駆動する制御要素を収容していることを特徴とする請求項1記載の車両。
- 円筒形ステータフレームの空間は、バッテリ充電回路を更に収容していることを特徴とする請求項4記載の車両。
- 車両は、自転車であり、車輪は、後輪であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の車両。
- 車両は、自転車であり、車輪は、前輪であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の車両。
- 複数の電磁石ステータセグメントは、互いに空間的に離されていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の車両。
- 複数の永久磁石は、互いに空間的に離されていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の車両。
- 追加のバッテリを収容する貯蔵空間を備えた第2の車輪と、フレームによって支持されていて、ステータセグメントと第2の車輪内の追加のバッテリを結合する電気ケーブルとを更に有していることを特徴とする請求項2記載の車両。
- 電気ケーブルに結合されていて、第2の車輪内の追加のバッテリを選択的に接続するスイッチを更に有していることを特徴とする請求項10記載の車両。
- 電気式車両であって、回転電気モータが収容されているハブ部分を備えた第1の車輪と、電源が収納されているハブ部分を備えた第2の車輪と、第1及び第2の車輪のハブ部分を構造的に連結するフレームとを有していることを特徴とする車両。
- 電源は、複数のバッテリから成ることを特徴とする請求項12記載の車両。
- 第1の車輪のハブ部分は、車軸を有し、回転電気モータは、車軸に固着されたステータと、ステータを包囲していて、ステータから空隙だけ離されたロータとから成り、ロータは、軸受を介して車軸に結合されていることを特徴とする請求項12記載の車両。
- ステータは、互いに空間的に離されている複数の電磁石コアセグメントから成ることを特徴とする請求項14記載の車両。
- ロータは、互いに空間的に離されている複数の永久磁石から成ることを特徴とする請求項14記載の車両。
- フレームによって支持されていて、モータと電源を接続する電気ケーブルを更に有し、電気ケーブルは、フレームに固定されていることを特徴とする請求項13記載の車両。
- 電気式車両であって、複数の車輪を有し、各車輪は、車軸と、車軸に固定されていて、内面が電源を収容する空間を構成している円筒形ステータフレームと、ステータフレームの外面に沿ってぐるりと分布した状態でこれに取り付けられた複数の電磁石ステータセグメントと、軸受を介して車軸に結合された円筒形ロータフレームとを有し、ロータフレームの内面は、複数の永久磁石を支持し、前記永久磁石は、ステータセグメントとの間に半径方向空隙を形成するためにステータセグメントを包囲するよう分布して設けられており、前記車輪は、ロータフレームの外面に装着されたタイヤを更に有していることを特徴とする車両。
