Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a structure for mounting a vehicle collision detection sensor such as an airbag sensor on a vehicle body, and more particularly to a structure for mounting a sensor for detecting a vehicle collision in which an impact load acts in the front-rear direction to a vehicle front portion.
In recent years, many automobiles equipped with an air bag system have been found to protect passengers from secondary collisions at the time of vehicle collision. In this airbag system, an impact at the time of collision is detected by a collision detection sensor attached to a vehicle body, and the airbag is deployed in a vehicle based on a determination result in an ECU (electrical control unit).
In this airbag system, in order to properly deploy the airbag against a preset collision, it is desirable that the collision detection sensor is disposed at an appropriate position of the vehicle body where the impact load is likely to propagate. Conventionally, as a structure for installing a collision detection sensor for detecting a frontal collision (for example, a frontal collision or a rear-end collision), a horizontal member such as a front bumper or a bumper reinforcement where a shock load is often input is attached. 2. Description of the Related Art A collision detection sensor is known at a front end portion of a pair of front side frames.
For example, in Patent Document 1, a pair of front side frames extending in the front-rear direction on both the left and right sides of the front portion of the vehicle and a front end portion of the pair of front side frames are horizontally mounted via a bumper stay member. A front bumper as a horizontal member and a reinforcement provided at the front end of the front side frame, and a collision detection sensor is disposed on the side of the front end of the front side frame via the reinforcement. The structure is shown.
As described above, when a collision detection sensor is provided on each of the side surfaces of the pair of front side frames, it is possible to effectively detect a front collision in which an impact load greater than a preset load acts on the front bumper. The airbag can be properly deployed and, for example, a collision that is a front collision and the center line is deviated and biased to one side in the vehicle width direction, that is, a so-called offset collision is detected by any of the collision detection sensors to appropriately There is an advantage that the bag can be deployed.
However, according to the arrangement structure of the collision detection sensor, when an impact load is applied to the horizontal member during a front collision, the collision can be properly detected and the airbag can be deployed. For example, when a vehicle collides with a vehicle with a high vehicle height, the front bumper sinks below the floor panel of the vehicle ahead, and the impact load does not act directly on the front bumper. Nevertheless, there is a possibility that this collision cannot be detected or the responsiveness is deteriorated as compared with a collision in which an impact load is applied to a horizontal member such as a front bumper.
In view of the above circumstances, the present invention is a collision detection that can properly detect a front collision and a collision in which an impact load is applied above a horizontal member such as a front bumper or a bumper reinforcement. A sensor arrangement structure is provided.
The arrangement structure of the collision detection sensor according to the present invention is horizontally mounted between a pair of front side frames extending along the front-rear direction on the left and right sides of the front portion of the vehicle and the front end portions of the pair of front side frames. A front end portion of the pair of front side frames in the arrangement structure of the collision detection sensor, comprising: a horizontal support member; and a collision detection sensor disposed at a predetermined position of the front side frame to detect a vehicle collision. And a high-rigidity mounting bracket fixed in a manner to protrude upward from the horizontal member, and the collision detection sensor is attached to the front side frame via the mounting bracket. Is.
According to this invention, since the collision detection sensor is attached to the high-rigidity mounting bracket fixed to each of the pair of front side frames so as to protrude above the horizontal member, the horizontal member A collision in which the impact load does not act directly and the impact load acts at a position higher than the horizontal member, for example, a submerged collision, the impact load acts directly on the mounting bracket and collides through the mounting bracket. An impact load is input to the detection sensor, and a collision of a load greater than a preset impact load can be properly detected. Moreover, since the front side frame is also attached to the collision detection sensor via a highly rigid mounting bracket, even if an impact load is applied directly to the horizontal member, the front side frame and the highly rigid mounting bracket are used. The impact load can be reliably transmitted to the collision detection sensor, and the accuracy thereof is not reduced.
The horizontal member is not particularly limited, but it is preferable to use a front bumper or a bumper reinforcement that often receives an impact load at the time of a front collision as a horizontal member, and in particular, a bumper reinforcement. Is used, it is preferable that the upper collision can be detected with reference to the highly rigid bumper reinforcement (claim 2).
The mounting bracket may be configured as a bracket only for mounting the collision detection sensor, but may be configured to join other in-vehicle components to the bracket, for example, the upper end portion is more than the horizontal member. A shroud is further provided in the vicinity of the horizontal member to support a vehicle-mounted component located above and horizontally between the pair of front side frames, and the shroud has a predetermined position corresponding to the front side frame. It is preferable to be configured to be joined to the mounting bracket at a higher position.
If comprised in this way, an impact load will be propagated to a mounting bracket through a shroud etc. also with respect to the front collision which an impact load acts on a shroud and the vehicle-mounted components which this shroud supports, and this collision can be detected appropriately. . In addition, since it is joined at a position higher than the front side frame, the load propagation distance can be shortened for a collision in which an impact load is input above the horizontal member, and the collision can be performed more quickly and accurately. Can be detected.
In the present invention, it is preferable that the mounting bracket is formed in a box shape that opens forward when attached to the front side frame.
If comprised in this way, the rigidity of a mounting bracket can further be improved, aiming at weight reduction by forming in a box shape.
In this case, it is preferable that the collision detection sensor is attached to the rear wall portion of the attachment bracket.
If comprised in this way, even if a vehicle-mounted component falls etc. by the light collision which the load below the collision load detected by the collision detection sensor acts on, for example, a collision detection sensor can be prevented effectively.
Further, in the above case, the shroud is formed in a front-rear direction opening frame shape having an upper portion positioned above the horizontal member, and is provided with a projecting portion projecting sideways, and a lower surface of the projecting portion. Is preferably overlapped and joined to the upper wall portion of the mounting bracket formed as a horizontal plane.
If comprised in this way, a shroud can be supported not only in a front side frame but in the position above this, and the support rigidity of the said shroud can be improved. Moreover, the impact load acting on the upper portion of the shroud formed in a frame shape can be properly propagated to the mounting bracket, and a collision in which a load greater than a predetermined impact load acts can be detected quickly and accurately. .
The collision sensor arrangement structure according to any one of
That is, the front end portion of the stay member may be overlapped and joined to the rear wall portion of the mounting bracket, and the collision detection sensor may be sandwiched between the overlap portion by a bolt and a nut. If a collision detection sensor is sandwiched between the two, a backlash may occur in the mounting portion of the sensor depending on the manner in which the stay member and the mounting bracket are joined, or due to changes over time, and the detection accuracy deteriorates due to this backlash. There is a risk of doing. Therefore, when configured as described above, the collision detection sensor is clamped only at the front end of the stay member, so that this play can be reliably prevented and the stay member is securely joined to the mounting bracket. be able to.
According to the arrangement structure of the collision detection sensor according to the present invention, the impact load acts on the upper side of the horizontal member without lowering the detection accuracy of the collision in which the impact load directly acts on the horizontal member. A collision such as a submerged collision can be appropriately detected, and the detection accuracy of the collision detection sensor can be improved as a whole.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
1 to 4 show a front vehicle body structure of an automobile including a collision detection sensor arrangement structure according to this embodiment. The collision detection sensor arranged according to this embodiment is a so-called airbag sensor that detects a predetermined collision in order to deploy the airbag, but the collision detection sensor arranged according to the arrangement structure of the present invention. The use of is not particularly limited.
The front vehicle body to which the arrangement structure of the collision detection sensor is applied includes a pair of left and right front side frames 1 that extend along the front-rear direction of the vehicle body, and both ends are front ends of the pair of front side frames 1. A
Specifically, as shown in FIG. 1, a
As shown in FIG. 2, the
The
As shown by a two-dot chain line in FIG. 5, each
The front vehicle body further has a mounting
As shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the mounting
Specifically, as shown in FIGS. 4 to 5, the mounting
6 to 8, the front end portion of the
Here, the
As shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, the front end portion of the
And the
The
As shown in FIGS. 6 to 8, the
The
Here, returning to the mounting
As described above, the
On the other hand, even when there is a collision at which the impact load is applied at the height position indicated by the white arrow in FIG. 4, that is, even when the impact load is directly applied to the
Further, even when there is a collision in which an impact load is applied at the height position indicated by the dotted arrow in FIG. 4, that is, when there is a submerged collision at a position higher than the black arrow in the same figure, the
Further, since the
Further, since the
In addition, since the
The arrangement structure of the collision detection sensor described above is an embodiment of the structure according to the present invention, and the specific configuration of the structure can be appropriately changed without departing from the gist of the present invention. A modification will be described below.
(1) In the above embodiment, not only the
(2) In the above embodiment, the structure of the front vehicle body in which the
