Abstract
【解決手段】 次の(1)〜(4)の工程からなるラミネート電池の製造方法。
(1)正極タブ12及び負極タブ13備えた電極体を、底部を2つ折りに折り曲げたラミネートフィルム14内部に挿入する工程、
(2)前記正極タブ及び負極タブとラミネートフィルムとの間に一部がラミネートフィルムから突出するようにタブ樹脂材15、16を配置する工程、
(3)前記ラミネートフィルムのトップ封止部を加熱されたゴム−ゴム金型32、33を用いて第1段階の封止を行う工程、
(4)次いで、加熱された前記タブ樹脂材の幅よりも広い幅のタブ逃がし段差部が設けられた金属−金属金型34、35を用いて第2段階の封止を行う工程。

Description
(1)正極タブ及び負極タブを備えた電極体を、底部を2つ折りに折り曲げたラミネートフィルムの内部に挿入する工程、
(2)前記正極タブ及び負極タブとラミネートフィルムとの間に一部がラミネートフィルムから突出するようにタブ樹脂材を配置する工程、
(3)前記ラミネートフィルムのトップ封止部を加熱されたゴム−ゴム金型を用いて第1段階の封止を行う工程、
(4)次いで、加熱された前記タブ樹脂材の幅よりも広い幅のタブ逃がし段差部が設けられた金属−金属金型を用いて第2段階の封止を行う工程。
まず、実施例及び比較例に共通の扁平な巻回式電極体の製造方法について説明する。正極極板は、コバルト酸リチウムに炭素導電剤(例えばグラファイト)を所定量混合した後でフッ素樹脂系結着剤(例えばポリフッ化ビニリデン)と一定の割合で混合して正極合剤とし、アルミ箔の両面に塗着し、乾燥後圧延して極板とした。また、負極極板は炭素材(例えばリン片状天然黒鉛)とフッ素樹脂系結着剤を一定の割合で混合し、銅箔の両面に塗着した後、乾燥後圧延して極板とした。次いで、正極極板及び負極極板それぞれに、ポリプロピレンベースのタブ樹脂材が具備されたタブ材を取り付け、ポリエチレン製の多孔質セパレータを介して巻回状に巻き取り、押しつぶして扁平状とし、カップ成型されたアルミラミネート外装に収納した。このアルミラミネートの総厚は、約0.100mmであり、シーラント層の厚みは、約0.030mmであった。
それを、以下の実施例、比較例1〜3で示す条件でトップ封止を行った。なお、トップ封止部のテラス部の長さは6mmで、金型長さは、4mmとした。また、実施例、比較例1〜3で使用した全ての金属金型には、タブ材とアルミラミネート外装体のAl金属との短絡を防止するために、タブ逃がし段差部を設けてあり、その逃がし深さは全て0.060mm、幅は6.5mmとした。また、タブ材の厚みは、正極用及び負極用タブ共に0.070mmとし、また、タブ樹脂材の厚みは、0.070mm/枚のものを用いた。なお、本明細書においては、例えば図2に示すような電池の正面図で見たときの縦方向長さを「長さ」、横方向の長さを「幅」として表記する。
実施例におけるトップ封止部の形成方法を図1に示すが、図6の従来例と同一構成部分については同一の参照符号を付与してその詳細な説明は省略する。なお、図1(a)はトップ封止部形成前の状態を示す図であり、図1(b)はゴム−ゴム金型を使用した第1段階のトップ封止部形成時の状態を示す図であり、また、図1(c)は金属−金属金型を使用した第2段階のトップ封止部形成時の状態を示す図である。この実施例においては、タブ樹脂材の幅を6mmとし、図1(b)に示すようにゴム−ゴム金型32、33を使用して第1段階のトップ封止部形成を行った。このとき、封止厚みは0.35mmの厚みで封止した。次に、図1(c)に示すように、金属−金属金型を用いて第2段階のトップ封止部形成を行った。封止厚みはタブ逃がし段差部で0.35mm、それ以外の部分は0.18mmの厚みで封止した。
図6に示す従来例と同様にして、タブ樹脂材の幅を9mmとタブ逃がし段差部幅6.5mmよりも大きくとり、金属−金属金型を用いて電池トップ部分を溶着した。封止厚みは実施例と同じである。
図4に示すように、タブ樹脂材の幅を6mmとし、金属−金属金型を用いて電池トップ部分を溶着した。封止厚みは実施例と同じである。
実施例と同じ構成とし、図1(b)に示したように、ゴム−ゴム金型による封止のみを実施した。封止厚は0.35mmの厚みで封止した。封止信頼性を高めるためには封止厚みを薄くすることが有効であるもの、ゴムの弾性により封止厚みを0.35mm以下とすることは困難であった。

Claims (6)
- 封止部がタブ樹脂材で覆われている正極タブ及び負極タブを備えた電極体を有するラミネート電池において、前記タブ樹脂材の幅が前記封止部に形成された段差部の幅よりも狭くなっていることを特徴とするラミネート電池。
- 前記電極体は、正極と、負極とを、セパレータを介して積層巻回した後、押し潰して製造した偏平な巻回式電極体であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のラミネート電池。
- 前記正極タブ及び負極タブが前記タブ樹脂材の部分から折り返されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のラミネート電池。
- 次の(1)〜(4)の工程を有することを特徴とするラミネート電池の製造方法。
(1)正極タブ及び負極タブを備えた電極体を、底部を2つ折りに折り曲げたラミネートフィルムの内部に挿入する工程、
(2)前記正極タブ及び負極タブとラミネートフィルムとの間に一部がラミネートフィルムから突出するようにタブ樹脂材を配置する工程、
(3)前記ラミネートフィルムのトップ封止部を加熱されたゴム−ゴム金型を用いて第1段階の封止を行う工程、
(4)次いで、加熱された前記タブ樹脂材の幅よりも広い幅のタブ逃がし段差部が設けられた金属−金属金型を用いて第2段階の封止を行う工程。 - 更に、前記正極タブ及び負極タブを前記タブ樹脂材の部分から折り返す工程を備えていることを特徴とする請求項4に記載のラミネート電池の製造方法。
- 前記ゴム−ゴム金型及び金属−金属金型がL字状の金型であり、トップ封止と一方のサイド封止を同時に行うようになしたことを特徴とする請求項4に記載のラミネート電池の製造方法。
