Abstract
強固な密封性を維持しつつ、摺動抵抗を抑制するという相反する機能を有するシール装置を備えた密封型転がり軸受を提供する。
【解決手段】
内周に外側転走面8が形成された外方部材1と、外周に外側転走面8に対向する内側転走面9aが形成されたハブ輪4と、これら両転走面8、9a間に回転自在に収容された転動体10と、外方部材1とハブ輪4間に形成された環状空間に装着されたシール装置26とを備えた密封型転がり軸受において、シール装置26が弾性部材からなるシールリップ28a、28b、28cを有し、このシールリップ28a、28b、28cが摺接するハブ輪4の摺動面19の表面粗さを、最大高さRy、または、Rmaxで1.2μm以下とすると共に、摺動面19に対して直角方向の振れを10μm以下に規制した。

Description
図1は、本発明に係る密封型転がり軸受の第1の実施形態を示す縦断面図である。この密封型転がり軸受は、自動車の駆動輪を懸架装置に対して回転自在に支持する車輪用軸受に適用したものである。なお、この車輪用軸受の基本構成は、前述のシール装置を備えた密封型転がり軸受の1例としてこの図1を用いて説明したので、詳細な説明を省略し、本発明の特徴部分を主体に説明する。
この試験は、運転中の供試品に関東ロームJIS8種混合液を噴霧し、試験前後の質量変化を測定したものである。本図から明確に判るように、供試品は、最大高さRy、または、Rmaxが、2.02〜3.7μm、摺動面39に対して直角方向の振れが30μmを超える供試品(比較例)と、最大高さRy、または、Rmaxが、1.3〜1.86μm、摺動面39に対して直角方向の振れが10〜30μmの供試品(実施例A)、および、最大高さRy、または、Rmaxが0.7〜1.2μm、摺動面39に対して直角方向の振れが10μm以下の供試品(実施例B)とで顕著な差異があるのを検証することができた。

Claims (5)
- 内周に外側転走面が形成された外方部材と、外周に前記外側転走面に対向する内側転走面が形成された内方部材と、これら両転走面間に回転自在に収容された転動体と、前記外方部材と内方部材間に形成された環状空間に装着されたシール装置とを備えた密封型転がり軸受において、
前記シール装置が弾性部材からなるシールリップを有し、このシールリップが摺接する回転側部材の摺動面の表面粗さを、最大高さRy、または、Rmaxで2.0μm以下とすると共に、前記摺動面に対して直角方向の振れを30μm以下に規制したことを特徴とする密封型転がり軸受。 - 前記シール装置が、固定部材側に装着されたシールリングと、回転部材側に装着されたスリンガとを備え、前記シールリングを構成するシールリップを前記スリンガに摺接させた請求項1に記載の密封型転がり軸受。
- 前記シール装置が、固定部材側に装着され、サイドリップとラジアルリップを有するシールリングを備え、前記シールリップを回転側部材に直接摺接させた請求項1に記載の密封型転がり軸受。
- 前記シール装置が、固定部材側に装着され、主リップと副リップを有するシールリングを備え、前記主リップを回転側部材に形成された断面略U字形をなすシール溝に直接摺接させると共に、前記副リップを前記シール溝の畝部に僅かなシメシロを介して摺接させた請求項1に記載の密封型転がり軸受。
- 前記摺動面の表面粗さを、最大高さRy、または、Rmaxで1.2μm以下とすると共に、前記摺動面に対して直角方向の振れを10μm以下に規制した請求項1乃至4いずれかに記載の密封型転がり軸受。
