Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a recording apparatus provided with a recording head for recording on a recording medium, represented by a FAX, a printer, or the like. The present invention also relates to a liquid ejecting apparatus.
Here, the liquid ejecting apparatus uses an ink jet recording head, and is not limited to a recording apparatus such as a printer, a copying machine, and a facsimile machine that discharges ink from the recording head to perform recording on a recording medium. And a device that ejects a liquid corresponding to the application from a liquid ejecting head corresponding to the ink jet recording head to an ejected medium corresponding to a recording medium, and adheres the liquid to the ejected medium. .
In addition to the recording head, as a liquid ejecting head, a color material ejecting head used for manufacturing a color filter such as a liquid crystal display, and an electrode material (conductive paste) used for forming an electrode such as an organic EL display or a surface emitting display (FED) Examples thereof include an ejection head, a bioorganic matter ejection head used for biochip production, and a sample ejection head as a precision pipette.
この様なインクジェットプリンタにおいては、近年、CD−R(Compact Disc Rewritable)やDVD(Digital Versatile Disc)に代表される光ディスクのラベル面に直接インクジェット記録可能なものが出回っている。
An example of the recording apparatus and the liquid ejecting apparatus is an ink jet printer. The ink jet printer has a feeding unit capable of setting a plurality of sheets as a recording medium, feeds one sheet at a time from the feeding unit, conveys the sheet to the ink jet recording head, and performs ink jet recording. In general, the recording is performed by the head and then discharged by the discharging means. In recent years, ink jet printers that can perform ink jet recording directly on the label surface of an optical disk typified by CD-R (Compact Disc Rewritable) and DVD (Digital Versatile Disc) have been on the market.
Such an ink jet printer has a dedicated straight path (conveyance path) because the optical disk does not have flexibility. Then, an optical disk is set on a tray having a plate shape, and the inkjet recording is performed by conveying the linear path.
By the way, the recording medium fed from the feeding means passes through the first path having the curved path portion in order to pass through the feeding roller. And since the said tray cannot go through a curved path | route, it is comprised so that it may pass through a linear 2nd path | route. Therefore, in the vicinity of the intersection position of the first route and the second route, a first posture for forming the first route and a second posture for forming the second route, The guide member which can change is provided (for example, refer patent document 1).
Incidentally, detection means for detecting the passage of the paper is provided in the vicinity of the guide member. The detection means includes a detection lever that swings in contact with the paper and a sensor that detects the state of the detection lever (for example, a sensor including a light emitting unit and a light receiving unit), and the detection lever Is provided so that its tip enters a hole formed in the guide member. When the sheet passes, the detection lever is pushed up and swings, and the sensor detects the swinging operation, thereby detecting the passage of the leading end of the sheet.
Here, the guide member is held in the first posture by the urging force of the urging unit. However, when the paper fed from the feeding unit has high rigidity, such as a dedicated paper having a coat layer, for example. When the leading edge of the paper comes into contact with the guide member, the guide member may be pushed down by a certain amount.
8 and 9 are views for explaining this state, FIG. 8 is a side view of the guide member, and FIG. 9 is a perspective view of the guide member. In the figure, symbol P indicates a sheet, arrow indicates a traveling direction of the sheet P,
The
On the other hand, above the
By the way, when the front end of the paper P abuts against the
On the other hand, in order to solve such a problem, it can be considered that the urging force of the
Therefore, the present invention has been made in view of such a problem, and the problem is that a guide member provided in the vicinity of an intersection position between a first path having a curved path portion and a linear second path is provided. In other words, the optimum state is always obtained when each route is used, and the shift in the sheet detection timing due to the change in the posture of the guide member is eliminated.
In order to solve the above-described problems, a first aspect of the present invention includes a recording head for recording on a recording medium, and a conveyance unit that is provided upstream of the recording head and conveys the recording medium to the recording head. A feeding unit provided upstream of the conveying unit and provided with a feeding roller for feeding the set recording medium to the conveying unit; and provided downstream of the recording head, And a first path including a curved path through which the flexible recording medium fed from the feeding means passes, and a discharging means for discharging the recorded recording medium to the outside of the apparatus. And a linear second path through which a plate-shaped tray formed so as to be able to set a recording medium having no flexibility passes, and on the downstream side of the discharge means Can be opened and closed in front of the device. By opening the door, the tray is supported and the second path is formed, and the storage state is changed so that the storage state is closed so that the opening state is substantially vertical. A first posture for forming the first path and a second position for forming the second path in the vicinity of the intersection position between the tray guide, the first path, and the second path. A guide member that guides the recording medium, a detection lever that is provided so that a tip thereof enters a hole provided in the guide member, and a state of the detection lever A recording medium detecting means including a detector, and the guide member is in conjunction with the opening / closing operation of the tray guide, and takes the first posture when the tray guide is in the retracted state. Keep in the first position Is characterized in that the tray guide is constructed as to be held in the second attitude with taking the second posture and the said open state.
According to the above aspect, the guide member provided in the vicinity of the intersection position of the first path and the second path is interlocked with the opening / closing operation of the tray guide that supports the guide member, and the tray guide is in the housed state. Then, the first posture is taken and held in the first posture, and when the tray guide is in the open state, the second posture is taken and the second posture is held. Therefore, when the recording medium applies an external force to the guide member, the posture of the guide member does not change and the state of the path does not change, and the detection lever detects the passage of the recording medium. There is no deviation in detection timing. Further, the guide member takes an appropriate posture according to the type of the recording medium to be recorded, that is, according to the state of the tray guide, and the posture is maintained, so that the recording medium is always appropriately conveyed. It becomes possible. As described above, the guide member provided in the vicinity of the intersection position between the first path having the curved path portion and the linear second path can always be in an optimum state when each path is used. It becomes.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the first aspect, the guide member is provided so as to be capable of swinging with a transport driving roller constituting the transport means as a swing shaft, and the guide member is provided in the second mode. In conjunction with the opening and closing operation of the tray guide, the biasing means for applying a biasing force in the direction of taking the posture, the support means for supporting the guide member against the biasing force of the biasing means, The support means is configured to change the posture of the guide member in conjunction with the opening / closing operation of the tray guide by link means for switching between a state in which the tray guide is supported and a state in which the tray guide is not supported. To do.
According to the above aspect, the guide member biases the guide member in the direction of taking the second posture, and the support that supports the guide member against the biasing force of the biasing means. Since the posture is maintained by the means, even when the recording medium passing through the first path has high rigidity, that is, even when the recording medium applies a large external force to the guide member, the guide member The posture is not changed by the support means, whereby the first posture can be reliably held, and an appropriate feeding operation can be executed.
According to a third aspect of the present invention, there is provided a liquid ejecting head that ejects liquid onto the ejected medium, a transport unit that is provided upstream of the liquid ejecting head and transports the ejected medium to the liquid ejecting head, and the transport A feeding unit provided on the upstream side of the unit and provided with a feeding roller for feeding the set ejection target medium to the conveying unit; and provided on the downstream side of the liquid ejecting head to perform liquid ejection. A first path including a curved path through which a flexible ejected medium fed from the feeding means passes, and a discharge path for discharging the ejected medium to the outside of the apparatus. A liquid ejecting apparatus including a linear second path through which a tray having a plate shape formed so as to be capable of setting a medium to be ejected that does not have flexibility is provided, on the downstream side of the discharge means Can be opened and closed freely, before the device By opening toward the front, the tray is supported and the second path is formed, and the storage state closed so as to be in a standing state substantially perpendicular to the open state is provided. A first posture for forming the first path and a second position for forming the second path in the vicinity of the intersection position of the tray guide, the first path and the second path. 2, a guide member for guiding the medium to be ejected that can be changed, a detection lever that is provided so that its tip enters a hole provided in the guide member, and a state of the detection lever An ejected medium detecting means comprising a detector for performing the first guide position when the tray guide is in the stowed state in conjunction with the opening and closing operation of the tray guide. The first posture It retained, wherein the tray guide is constructed as to be held in the second attitude with taking the second posture and the said open state.
An ink jet printer (hereinafter referred to as “printer”) 1 as an example of a “recording apparatus” and a “liquid ejecting apparatus” according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS. Here, FIG. 1 is an external perspective view of the printer 1, FIGS. 2 and 3 are schematic side sectional views of the printer 1, and FIGS. 4 and 5 are a cam mechanism and a link mechanism that link the
In the following, first, a schematic configuration of the printer 1 will be described. In FIG. 1, the printer 1 includes a
The upper portion of the printer 1 is covered with a housing 11, and an openable and closable cover (not shown) for exchanging ink cartridges and the like is provided at the upper center of the housing 11. 50, the
Next, the conveyance path (feeding path) of the paper P will be described in detail with reference to FIG. In FIG. 2, the
More specifically, the

Subsequently, on the downstream side of the
The above is the outline of the paper conveyance path. The printer 1 is configured to be capable of ink jet recording directly on the label surface of an optical disk represented by a compact disk in addition to the paper P as a recording medium. The optical disc D is transported through the paper transport path in a state of being set on a tray T having a plate shape. The tray T is configured separately from the printer 1 and is inserted while being supported by the
The
Next, the
More specifically, as shown in FIG. 4, the
Next, the
4, the
That is, when the
In addition, in the prior art described with reference to FIGS. 8 and 9, since the
The
On the other hand, the
