【発明の属する技術分野】
この発明は、自動車用自動変速装置として、或はポンプ等の各種産業機械の運転速度を調節する為の変速装置として利用する無段変速装置とその組立方法の改良に関する。

【従来の技術】
自動車用自動変速装置としてトロイダル型無段変速機を使用する事が研究され、一部で実施されている。又、トロイダル型無段変速機と遊星歯車式変速機とを組み合わせて無段変速装置を構成する事が、特許文献1〜7に記載されている様に、従来から提案されている。図11は、このうちの特許文献2に記載された無段変速装置を示している。この無段変速装置は、トロイダル型無段変速機1と遊星歯車式変速機2とを組み合わせて成る。このうちのトロイダル型無段変速機1は、入力軸3と、1対の入力側ディスク4a、4bと、出力側ディスク5と、複数のパワーローラ6、6とを備える。

又、上記遊星歯車式変速機2は、上記入力軸3及び一方(図11の右方)の入力側ディスク4aに結合固定されたキャリア7を備える。このキャリア7の径方向中間部に、その両端部にそれぞれ遊星歯車8、9を固設した第一伝達軸10を、回転自在に支持している。又、上記キャリア7を挟んで上記入力軸3と反対側に、その両端部に太陽歯車11、12を固設した第二伝達軸13を、上記入力軸3と同心に、回転自在に支持している。そして、上記各遊星歯車8、9と、上記出力側ディスク5にその基端部(図11の左端部)を結合した中空回転軸14の先端部(図11の右端部)に固設した太陽歯車15又は上記第二伝達軸13の一端部(図11の左端部)に固設した太陽歯車11とを、それぞれ噛合させている。又、一方(図11の左方)の遊星歯車8を、別の遊星歯車16を介して、上記キャリア7の周囲に回転自在に設けたリング歯車17に噛合させている。

一方、上記第二伝達軸13の他端部(図11の右端部)に固設した太陽歯車12の周囲に設けた第二キャリア18に遊星歯車19、20を、回転自在に支持している。尚、この第二キャリア18は、上記入力軸3及び第二伝達軸13と同心に配置された、出力軸21の基端部(図11の左端部)に固設されている。又、上記各遊星歯車19、20は、互いに噛合すると共に、一方の遊星歯車19が上記太陽歯車12に、他方の遊星歯車20が、上記第二キャリア18の周囲に回転自在に設けた第二リング歯車22に、それぞれ噛合している。又、上記リング歯車17と上記第二キャリア18とを低速用クラッチ23により係脱自在とすると共に、上記第二リング歯車22とハウジング等の固定の部分とを、高速用クラッチ24により係脱自在としている。

上述の様な、図11に示した無段変速装置の場合、上記低速用クラッチ23を接続すると共に上記高速用クラッチ24の接続を断った、所謂低速モード状態では、上記入力軸3の動力が上記リング歯車17を介して上記出力軸21に伝えられる。そして、前記トロイダル型無段変速機1の変速比を変える事により、無段変速装置全体としての変速比、即ち、上記入力軸3と上記出力軸21との間の変速比が変化する。この様な低速モード状態では、無段変速装置全体としての変速比は、無限大に変化する。即ち、上記トロイダル型無段変速機1の変速比を調節する事により、上記入力軸3を一方向に回転させた状態のまま上記出力軸21の回転状態を、停止状態を挟んで、正転、逆転の変換自在となる。

これに対して、上記低速用クラッチ23の接続を断ち、上記高速用クラッチ24を接続した、所謂高速モード状態では、上記入力軸3の動力が上記第一、第二伝達軸10、13を介して上記出力軸21に伝えられる。そして、上記トロイダル型無段変速機1の変速比を変える事により、無段変速装置全体としての変速比が変化する。この場合には、上記トロイダル型無段変速機1の変速比を大きくする程、無段変速装置全体としての変速比が大きくなる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上述の様な従来から知られている無段変速装置の場合、原理が開示されている過ぎず、量産を前提として組立性を考慮したものではない。ところで、トロイダル型無段変速機1と遊星歯車式変速機2とを組み合わせた無段変速装置は、構成部品の数が多く、しかもこれら各構成部品が精密に組み合わされる。例えば、上記遊星歯車式変速機2を構成する各歯車の噛合部のバックラッシュを僅少若しくは零にする事が、運転時に於ける振動並びに騒音の低減の他、無限大の変速比を安定して実現する為に重要である。

所望の性能を有する無段変速装置を得る事自体は、この無段変速装置の構成各部材を1個ずつケーシング内に組み込む事により可能ではあるが、このケーシング内の空間は狭く、構成部材の数は多い為、量産を考慮した場合には好ましくない。この様な事情に鑑みて特願2002−243389号には、トロイダル型無段変速機と、遊星歯車式変速機の構成部材の一部とをケーシング外で組み合わせてモジュール化し、このモジュールをこのケーシング内に組み付ける技術が開示されている。但し、この先発明に係る技術も、このケーシング内に組み付けた上記モジュールと、上記遊星歯車式変速機の構成部材の残部との組み合わせを能率良く行なう事までは考慮していない。
本発明の無段変速装置とその組立方法は、この様な事情に鑑みて発明したものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明の無段変速装置とその組立方法のうち、請求項1に記載した無段変速装置は、ケーシング内にトロイダル型無段変速機と遊星歯車式変速機とを、互いの間での動力の伝達を自在に組み合わせた状態で収納すると共に、上記トロイダル型無段変速機の中心部に第一回転軸を配設し、上記遊星歯車式変速機の中心部に第二回転軸を接続して成る。

このうちのトロイダル型無段変速機は、上記第一回転軸と、1対の外側ディスクと、内側ディスクと、複数の支持部材と、複数のパワーローラと、中空回転軸とを備える。
そして、上記第一の回転軸は、上記ケーシング内に回転自在に支持されている。
又、上記各外側ディスクは、それぞれが断面円弧形である互いの軸方向片側面同士を対向させた状態で、この第一回転軸と同期した回転を自在として支持されている。
又、上記内側ディスクは、上記第一回転軸の中間部周囲に、断面円弧形である軸方向両側面を上記各外側ディスクの軸方向片側面に対向させた状態で、上記第一回転軸に対する相対回転を自在に支持されている。
又、上記各支持部材は、軸方向に関して上記内側ディスクの軸方向両側面と上記各外側ディスクの軸方向片側面との間位置にそれぞれ複数個ずつ、上記回転軸に対し捩れの位置にある枢軸を中心とする揺動変位を自在に設けられている。
又、上記各パワーローラは、上記各支持部材に回転自在に支持され、球状凸面としたそれぞれの周面を、上記内側ディスクの軸方向両側面と各外側ディスクの軸方向片側面とに当接させている。
更に、上記中空回転軸は、円管状で、上記1対の外側ディスクのうちの上記第二回転軸側の外側ディスクの内周面と上記第一回転軸の外周面との間に配設されて、この第二回転軸と反対側の端部を上記内側ディスクに回転伝達自在に接続すると共に、この第二回転軸の側の端部をこの第二回転軸の側の外側ディスクの外側面から突出させている。

一方、前記遊星歯車式変速機は、第一段の遊星歯車式変速ユニットと、第二段の遊星歯車式変速ユニットとを互いに同軸に、動力の伝達自在に組み合わせて成る。
このうちの第一段の遊星歯車式変速ユニットは、前記トロイダル型無段変速機側に設けられたもので、上記中空回転軸の上記第二回転軸側の端部にこの中空回転軸と同期した回転を自在に設けられた第一太陽歯車と、上記第一回転軸と上記第二回転軸側の外側ディスクとの間に掛け渡されたキャリアと、このキャリアのうちでこの外側ディスクの側に回転自在に支持されて上記第一太陽歯車と噛合した複数の第一遊星歯車とを備える。
又、上記第二段の遊星歯車式変速ユニットは、上記第二回転軸側に設けられたもので、上記第二回転軸のうちで上記トロイダル型無段変速機の側の端部にこの第二回転軸と同期した回転を自在に支持された第二太陽歯車と、上記キャリアのうちで上記外側ディスクと反対の側に回転自在に支持されて上記第二太陽歯車と噛合した複数の第二遊星歯車と、これら第二太陽歯車及び各第二遊星歯車の周囲にこの第二太陽歯車と同心に、且つ、回転自在に支持されたリング歯車とを備える。
そして、上記リング歯車を、上記各第一遊星歯車と上記各第二遊星歯車とのうちの少なくとも一方の遊星歯車と噛合させている。

又、前記ケーシングは、前記遊星歯車式変速機の設置位置を基準として、上記トロイダル型無段変速機と反対側に、この遊星歯車式変速機を軸方向に挿入可能な開口部が設けられている。
この開口部の内周面は、上記リング歯車を内嵌する事でこのリング歯車の中心軸と上記第一太陽歯車の中心軸とが一致する形状及び寸法とされている。
又、上記ケーシングの内周面のうちで、上記リング歯車と上記各第一遊星歯車と上記各第二遊星歯車とのうちの少なくとも一方とを組立完了状態にまで噛合させた状態で上記リング歯車の周囲に位置する部分は、このリング歯車の外周面と接触しない形状及び寸法とされている。

更に、請求項8に記載した無段変速装置の組立方法は、上述した様な無段変速装置を組み立てる際に、上記ケーシング内の所定位置に、トロイダル型無段変速機を組み付ける。
これと共に、上記遊星歯車式変速機を構成する第一太陽歯車と、キャリアと、第一、第二遊星歯車とを組み合わせた後、第二太陽歯車を備えた第二回転軸とリング歯車とを、ケーシング内への組み付けに先だって組み合わせてモジュールとしておく。
そして、このモジュールを構成する上記リング歯車の外周面を、上記ケーシングの開口部の内周面に内嵌しつつ、上記モジュールを軸方向に移動させる事によりこのケーシング内に挿入し、上記リング歯車と上記各第一遊星歯車と上記各第二遊星歯車とのうちの少なくとも一方とを、第二太陽歯車と各第二遊星歯車とを、それぞれ噛合させる。

上述の様に構成する本発明の無段変速装置とその組立方法によれば、無段変速装置の構成各部材をケーシング内に組み込む作業を能率良く行なえる。

【発明の実施の形態】
図1〜9は、本発明の実施の形態の1例を示している。尚、図1〜3及び図6〜9には縦横比等の寸法関係を、実際の寸法関係で示している。又、斜視図である図4〜5に関しても、この寸法関係を、ほぼ実際の寸法関係に則して描いている。本例の無段変速装置は、トロイダル型無段変速機1aと、第一段〜第三段の遊星歯車式変速ユニット25〜27とを組み合わせて成る遊星歯車式変速機28と、特許請求の範囲に記載した第一回転軸に相当する入力軸3aと、同じく第三回転軸に相当する出力軸21aとを有する。図示の例では、これら入力軸3aと出力軸21aとの間に、特許請求の範囲に記載した第二回転軸に相当する伝達軸29を、これら両軸3a、21aと同心に、且つ、これら両軸3a、21aに対する相対回転を自在に設けている。そして、上記第一、第二遊星歯車式変速ユニット25、26を上記入力軸3aと上記伝達軸29との間に掛け渡す状態で、上記第三遊星歯車式変速ユニット27をこの伝達軸29と上記出力軸21aとの間に掛け渡す状態で、それぞれ設けている。

このうちのトロイダル型無段変速機1aは、それぞれが特許請求の範囲に記載した外側ディスクである1対の入力側ディスク4a、4bと、特許請求の範囲に記載した内側ディスクである、一体型の出力側ディスク5と、複数のパワーローラ6、6とを備える。そして、上記1対の入力側ディスク4a、4bは、上記入力軸3aを介して互いに同心に、且つ、同期した回転を自在として結合されている。又、上記出力側ディスク5は、上記両入力側ディスク4a、4b同士の間に、これら両入力側ディスク4a、4bと同心に、且つ、これら両入力側ディスク4a、4bに対する相対回転を自在として支持されている。更に、上記各パワーローラ6、6は、軸方向に関して上記出力側ディスク5の軸方向両側面と上記両入力側ディスク4a、4bの軸方向片側面との間に、それぞれ複数個ずつ挟持されている。そして、これら両入力側ディスク4a、4bの回転に伴って回転しつつ、これら両入力側ディスク4a、4bから上記出力側ディスク5に動力を伝達する。

又、本例の場合、図3に示す様に、上記各パワーローラ6、6を支持する、特許請求の範囲に記載した支持部材に相当するトラニオン30、30の長さ方向両端部に設けた、1対の折れ曲がり壁部31、31の先端部同士を、連結部材32、32により連結している。この様な連結部材32は、上記パワーローラ6を跨ぐ様に設けると共に、その両端面を上記トラニオン30の各折れ曲がり壁部31、31の互いに対向する内側面に突き当てた状態で、ねじ33、33により、上記各トラニオン30、30に結合固定している。この様な連結部材32、32を設けた本例の場合には、これら各トラニオン30、30の曲げ剛性の向上を図れ、これら各トラニオン30、30を弾性変形しにくくできる。この結果、これら各トラニオン30、30の変形に基づいて、これら各トラニオン30、30の中間部にそれぞれの基半部を支持した支持軸34の傾斜を防止し、この支持軸34の先半部に支持した上記各パワーローラ6、6の位置がずれるのを抑える事ができるので、変速動作を安定させる事ができる。尚、本例の場合、上記支持軸34と、上記パワーローラ6を回転自在に支持するスラスト玉軸受35を構成する外輪とを、一体に形成している。

更に、本例の場合には、上記出力側ディスク5の軸方向両端部を、1対のスラストアンギュラ玉軸受36、36等の転がり軸受により、回転自在に支持している。この為に本例の場合には、ケーシング38の内側に、アクチュエータボディー39を介して1対の支柱40、40を設けている。これら各支柱40、40は、上記各トラニオン30、30の両端部に設けた枢軸86、86を揺動及び軸方向の変位を自在に支持する、1対の支持板37a、37bを支持する為のものである。上記各支柱40、40はそれぞれ、前記入力軸3aを挟んで径方向反対側に、互いに同心に設けられた1対の支持ポスト部41a、41bを、円環状の支持環部42により連結して成る。上記入力軸3aは、この支持環部42の内側を挿通している。

又、上記各支柱40、40の下端部は、上記アクチュエータボディー39の上面に、それぞれ複数本ずつのボルト43、43により、取付位置並びに取付方向を規制した状態で結合固定している。この為に上記アクチュエータボディー39の上面には、上記各支柱40、40の下端部をがたつきなく内嵌する為の凹部44、44を形成している。又、これら各支柱40、40の下端部には、下端面に開口する複数のねじ孔を形成している。これら各支柱40、40は、それぞれの下端部を上記各凹部44、44に内嵌した状態で、上記アクチュエータボディー39を下方から挿通して上記各ねじ孔に螺合し、更に緊締した上記各ボルト43、43により、上記アクチュエータボディー39の上面の所定位置に固定している。

これに対して上記各支柱40、40の上端部は、連結板45の下面に、それぞれボルト46、46により、取付位置を規制した状態で結合固定している。この為に上記連結板45の下面には、上記各支柱40、40の上端部をがたつきなく内嵌する為の凹部47、47を形成している。又、これら各支柱40、40の上端部には、上端面中央部に開口する1個ずつのねじ孔を形成している。これら各支柱40、40は、それぞれの上端部を上記各凹部47、47に内嵌した状態で、上記連結板45を上方から挿通して上記各ねじ孔に螺合し、更に緊締した上記各ボルト46、46により、上記連結板45の下面の所定位置に固定している。

上記1対の支柱40、40は、上述の様に上記アクチュエータボディー39の上面と上記連結板45の下面との間に、位置規制して掛け渡す様に連結固定している。この状態で、上記各支柱40、40の両端部近傍に設けた、前記各支持ポスト部41a、41bのうち、下側の支持ポスト部41a、41aは上記アクチュエータボディー39の上面の直上位置に存在する。そして、上記両支柱40、40の支持ポスト部41a、41aに、前記1対の支持板37a、37bのうちの下側の支持板37aに形成した支持孔48a、48aを、がたつきなく外嵌している。又、上側の支持ポスト部41b、41bは上記連結板45の下面の直下位置に存在する。そして、上記両支柱40、40の支持ポスト部41b、41bに、前記1対の支持板37a、37bのうちの上側の支持板37bに形成した支持孔48b、48bを、がたつきなく外嵌している。

尚、図示の例では、上記下側の支持板37aに、前記各トラニオン30、30の傾斜角度を制限する為のストッパとして機能する、凸部49a、49b、49c(図4)を突設している。即ち、上記支持板37aの幅方向(図1〜2の表裏方向、図3の左右方向)両側縁部の、前後方向(図1〜2の左右方向、図3の表裏方向)両端部と中央部との3個所位置に、上記凸部49a、49b、49cを形成している。これら各凸部49a、49b、49cは、上記各トラニオン30、30がそれぞれの両端部に設けた枢軸86、86を中心として過度に傾斜する事を防止するものである。そして、上記各トラニオン30、30に支持したパワーローラ6、6の周面が、前記入力側ディスク4a、4b或は出力側ディスク5の各側面から、これら各ディスク4a、4b、5の径方向外方に外れる事を防止する。

又、上記1対の支柱40、40により互いに結合された、上記アクチュエータボディー39と上記連結板45とのうち、アクチュエータボディー39は前記ケーシング38の下部に固定している。この為に、このケーシング38の内面下端開口寄り部分に段部50a、50bを、上記アクチュエータボディー39の幅方向(図1〜2の表裏方向、図3の左右方向)両端寄り部分にボルト挿通孔51、51(図4)を、それぞれ形成している。上記アクチュエータボディー39を上記ケーシング38内に固定する際には、このアクチュエータボディー39の上面幅方向両端寄り部分を上記各段部50a、50bに突き当てる。そして、上記各ボルト挿通孔51、51を下方から挿通した図示しないボルトを、上記各段部50a、50bに開口したねじ孔に螺合し更に緊締する。

一方、上記連結板45は上記ケーシング38内に、長さ方向(図1〜2の左右方向、図3の表裏方向)及び幅方向の位置を規制した状態で設置されている。この位置規制を行なう為に、上記連結板45の上面と、上記ケーシング38の天板部52の下面との、互いに対向する部分に、それぞれ位置決め凹部53a、53bを形成している。これら各位置決め凹部53a、53bは、それぞれ円形の平面形状を有する。上記アクチュエータボディー39を上記ケーシング38内に固定した状態で、上記連結板45の上面に形成した各位置決め凹部53a、53aと、上記天板部52の下面に形成した位置決め凹部53b、53bとの間に、円筒状の位置決めスリーブ54、54を掛け渡している。この構造により、前記1対の支柱40、40の上下両端部を上記ケーシング38に対し、位置決めした状態で支持固定している。

この様にして上記ケーシング38内の所定位置に固定した1対の支柱40、40の中間部に設けられ、それぞれが前記入力側ディスク4a、4bと前記出力側ディスク5との側面同士の間に存在する各キャビティ(空間)の中央部に存在する前記各支持環部42、42により、上記出力側ディスク5を、回転自在に支持している。この為に、これら各支持環部42、42とこの出力側ディスク5の軸方向両端面、即ち、この出力側ディスク5の軸方向両側面に設けた出力側面87、87よりも内径側部分との間に、前記各スラストアンギュラ玉軸受36、36を設けている。図示の例の場合、これら各スラストアンギュラ玉軸受36、36を構成する1対の軌道輪55a、55bの外側面(互いに反対側の側面)の内径寄り部分に短円筒状の突条部56、56(図2)を、全周に亙って形成している。

そして、これら各突条部56、56を、上記各支持環部42、42及び上記出力側ディスク5の端部にがたつきなく内嵌する事により、上記各スラストアンギュラ玉軸受36、36の径方向に関する位置決めを図っている。又、一方の軌道輪55a、55aの外側面と上記各支持環部42、42との間にシム57、57(図2)を挟持して、上記各スラストアンギュラ玉軸受36、36の軸方向に関する位置決めを図っている。又、この状態で、これら各スラストアンギュラ玉軸受36、36に、所望の予圧を付与している。従って上記出力側ディスク5は、各キャビティ内に1対ずつ設けた上記各支柱40、40同士の間に、径方向及び軸方向に関する位置決めを図られた状態で、回転自在に支持されている。

又、図示の無段変速装置の場合、前記入力軸3aの基端部(図1の左端部)を図示しないエンジンのクランクシャフトに、駆動軸58及びトーションダンパ59を介して結合し、このクランクシャフトにより上記入力軸3aを回転駆動する様にしている。又、前記両入力側ディスク4a、4bの軸方向片側面及び上記出力側ディスク5の軸方向両側面と上記各パワーローラ6、6の周面との転がり接触部(トラクション部)に適正な面圧を付与する為の押圧装置60として、油圧式のものを使用している。又、ギヤポンプ等の図示しない油圧源により、この押圧装置60及び変速の為にトラニオン30、30を変位させる為の油圧式のアクチュエータ61、61、並びに後述する低速用クラッチ62及び高速用クラッチ63を断接させる為の油圧シリンダに、圧油を供給自在としている。

又、上記出力側ディスク5に、中空回転軸14aの基端部(図1〜2の左端部)をスプライン係合させている。そして、この中空回転軸14aを、エンジンから遠い側(図1〜2の右側)の入力側ディスク4bの内側に挿通して、上記出力側ディスク5の回転力を取り出し自在としている。更に、上記中空回転軸14aの先端部(図1〜2の右端部)で上記入力側ディスク4bの外側面から突出した部分に、前記第一遊星歯車式変速ユニット25を構成する為の、第一太陽歯車64を固設している。

一方、上記入力軸3aの先端部(図1〜2の右端部)で上記中空回転軸14aから突出した部分と上記入力側ディスク4bとの間に、キャリア7aを掛け渡す様に設けて、この入力側ディスク4bと上記入力軸3aとが、互いに同期して回転する様にしている。そして、上記キャリア7aの軸方向両側面の円周方向等間隔位置(一般的には3〜4個所位置)に、それぞれがダブルピニオン型である前記第一、第二遊星歯車式変速ユニット25、26を構成する為の遊星歯車65〜67を、回転自在に支持している。これら各遊星歯車65〜67のうち、内径側で上記入力側ディスク4b寄りの遊星歯車65が特許請求の範囲に記載した第一遊星歯車に、同じく前記出力軸21a寄りの遊星歯車66が第二遊星歯車に、それぞれ相当する。尚、外径寄りに設けた、軸方向寸法が長い遊星歯車67は、第一遊星歯車であると同時に第二遊星歯車でもある。更に、上記キャリア7aの片半部(図1〜2の右半部)周囲に、特許請求の範囲に記載したリング歯車に相当する第一リング歯車68を、回転自在に支持している。この第一リング歯車68の外周面は、軸方向に関して直径が変化しない、単なる円筒面としている。

従って、無段変速装置を構成する上記トロイダル型無段変速機1a及び前記第一段、第二段の遊星歯車式変速ユニット25、26の主要部を、上記ケーシング38内に組み込む以前に、このケーシング38外で組み立てて、図4に示す様な、上記無段変速装置の主要部となる、モジュール79とする事ができる。このモジュール79の組立作業は、上記ケーシング38に邪魔される事なく、広い空間で行なう事ができて、組立作業が容易になる。又、上記モジュール79を組立後、上記ケーシング38内に収納する以前に、このモジュール79の作動状態を確認できる。そして、この作動状態が不良である場合には、上記ケーシング38外の広い空間で、分解・再組立を容易に行なえる。

この様にして、上記モジュール79を上記主ケーシング部75内に組み付けたならば、前記第三段の遊星歯車式変速ユニット27等、上記モジュール79に含まれない構成部分を、上記主ケーシング部75に組み付ける。この為に、図6の右側に示す様な第二モジュール81を、予め上記主ケーシング75外で組み立てておく。この第二モジュール71は、両端部に前記第二太陽歯車69及び前記第三太陽歯車71を設けた前記伝達軸29の中間部周囲に、この第二太陽歯車69の側から順番に、前記第一リング歯車68と、前記低速用クラッチ62と、前記隔壁板77とを外嵌支持して成る。この様な第二モジュール81に関しても、前記モジュール79と同様に、上記各構成部材を、上記主ケーシング部75外の広い場所で組み立て、予め動作の確認をしておく。

この様にして上記主ケーシング部75外で組み立てた、上記第二モジュール81は、図7〜8に示す様にこの主ケーシング75内に、前記開口部78から、上記第一リング歯車68を先にして挿入する。前述した様にこの開口部78にこの第一リング68を挿入した状態では、この第一リング歯車68の中心軸と前記第一段の遊星歯車式変速機25を構成する前記第一太陽歯車64の中心軸とが一致する。この為、上記第一リング歯車68を少し回転させつつ上記開口部68内に挿入すれば、先ず、図7に示す様に、この第一のリング歯車68と、前記外径側の遊星歯車67とが噛合し始める。そして、更に上記第二モジュール81を上記主ケーシング75内に、前記伝達軸29を少し回転させつつ挿入すれば、図8に示す様に、上記第二太陽歯車69が、前記第二段の遊星歯車式変速ユニット26を構成する内径側の遊星歯車66と噛合し始める。この状態から、上記第二モジュール81を上記主ケーシング75内に挿入し、図9に示す様に、上記隔壁板77を上記主ケーシング部75の後端開口縁部に突き当てれば、上記第二モジュール81の構成部材と前記モジュール79の構成部材とが、適正な位置関係に組み合わされる。又、この状態で、上記第一リング歯車68の外周面と上記主ケーシング部75の内周面との間に隙間が生じ、これら両周面同士が擦れ合う事がなくなる。

以上の様にして、上記モジュール79と上記第二モジュール81とを、上記主ケーシング部75に組み付けたならば、前記第三段の遊星歯車式変速ユニット27の構成各部材、前記高速用クラッチ63、前記出力軸21aを、上記隔壁板77外に組み付ける。尚、これら第三段の遊星歯車式変速ユニット27の構成各部材、高速用クラッチ63、出力軸21aも、予め広い場所で組み立てると共に前記補助ケーシング部76内に組み付けて、第三モジュールとしておく。従って、上記第三段の遊星歯車式変速ユニット27の構成各部材、上記高速用クラッチ63、上記出力軸21aを上記隔壁板77外に組み付ける作業は、上記第三モジュールをこの隔壁板77外に組み付ける事により、容易に行なえる。前記ケーシング38の下端開口は、これら一連の組み付け作業の後、オイルパン80により塞ぐ。

【発明の効果】
本発明は、以上に述べた通り構成され作用するので、組立作業の容易化によりトロイダル型無段変速機と遊星歯車式変速機とを組み合わせた無段変速装置のコスト低減を図れる他、修理作業も容易にできる。
