TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a suspension device.
[0002]
[Prior art]
There are various types of suspensions used to suspend the axle on the frame. Among them, the leaf suspension made up of multiple leaf springs has a simple structure and low cost. In addition to this, it has the characteristics of high strength and high durability, and has been widely used for vehicles such as trucks.
[0003]
FIG. 4 shows an example of the leaf suspension. In the figure, reference numeral 1 denotes a pair of left and right side rails extending in the front-rear direction of the vehicle and forming a part of a chassis frame; A spring 3 indicates an axle made of an I-beam. The axle 3 is connected to a lower surface of a leaf spring 2 at a longitudinally intermediate portion via a U-bolt 4.
[0004]
The front end of the leaf spring 2 is wound upward to form an eye 5, and the eye 5 is rotatably wound around a spring pin 7 mounted on a front bracket 6 on the side rail 1 side. I have to.
[0005]
On the other hand, the rear end of the leaf spring 2 is wound upward like the front end side to form an eye 8, and the eye 8 is connected to a spring pin of a shackle 10 mounted on a rear bracket 9 on the side rail 1 side. The shackle 10 swings the shackle 10 so that the expansion and contraction in the front-rear direction due to the leaf spring 2 bending in a bow shape is absorbed by the shackle 10.
[0006]
The bracket 12 is fixed together with the U-bolt 4 at the position where the axle 3 is carried by the leaf spring 2 via the U-bolt 4. The tip of the bracket 12 and the side rail immediately above the bracket 12 are fixed. 1 are connected by a shock absorber 13.
[0007]
However, in such a conventional leaf suspension, it cannot be denied that the riding comfort is considerably inferior to the existing air suspension at present, and the upper surface of the leaf spring 2 in the longitudinal middle portion and each side rail 1 It has been studied to improve the ride comfort by interposing an air spring between them.
[0008]
That is, if an air spring is used in combination with the leaf spring 2, the leaf spring 2 functions as a stabilizer or a suspension link, so that the overall configuration can be greatly simplified as compared with a conventional 5-link air suspension. Therefore, there is an advantage that a good ride comfort can be obtained by the air spring, the cost is low, and the increase in the vehicle weight is small.
[0009]
The present inventor has already filed the following prior application 1 which has not been published as a prior application of a suspension device using an air spring in combination with a leaf spring 2 of this type.
[0010]
[Prior application 1]
Japanese Patent Application No. 2002-43608 specification
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the conventional structure as described above, the longitudinal expansion and contraction caused by the leaf spring 2 bending in a bow shape is absorbed by the swing of the shackle 10, so that the shackle 10 and its related parts There was a problem that the number of points increased and the manufacturing cost was high.
[0012]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made in view of the above-described circumstances, and has as its object to provide a suspension device capable of reducing the number of parts compared to the related art and achieving a significant cost reduction.
[0013]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention relates to a leaf spring having an axle connected to a lower surface of a longitudinal middle portion and extending in the front-rear direction of the vehicle and having its front and rear ends pivotally attached to a side rail. A suspension device having an air spring interposed therebetween, rising from a pivot point of the rear end of the leaf spring with respect to the side rail toward the rear side of the vehicle, rising above the pivot point, and moving forward of the vehicle. The rear portion of the leaf spring is formed so as to form a curved portion that is folded back into a U-shape to the side, and the rear portion of the leaf spring is formed to be thinner than the front portion.
[0014]
Thus, while the axle is positioned by the leaf spring, the vertical load mainly acting on the axle is supported by the air spring. The expansion and contraction in the front-rear direction due to the flexure is absorbed by the rotation of the leaf spring about the pivot point at the rear end of the leaf spring.
[0015]
More specifically, when the leaf spring extends in the front-back direction, the rear end of the leaf spring rotates so that the curved portion tilts rearward of the vehicle, thereby absorbing the expansion, and the leaf spring moves in the front-rear direction. When the leaf spring contracts, the rear end of the leaf spring rotates so that the curved portion rises upward, so that the contraction is absorbed.
[0016]
At this time, the situation that the bending portion itself is largely bent and deformed does not occur, but only a gentle deformation occurs at the rear portion from the axle support position of the leaf spring to the bending portion, so the stress is dispersed and absorbed over a wide range. Thus, the stress acting on the leaf spring can be reduced.
[0017]
In addition, the length of the rear portion of the leaf spring is extended by the formation of the curved portion, and the thickness of the rear portion is made thinner than that of the front portion so as to bend easily, so that the spring constant of the leaf spring is reduced. Will also be planned.
[0018]
As a result, it is possible to absorb the expansion and contraction of the leaf spring in the front-rear direction without hindrance. As a result, the rear end of the leaf spring does not need to be attached to the side rail via the shackle. Is unnecessary, and the number of parts can be reduced.
[0019]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0020]
1 to 3 show an example of an embodiment of the present invention, and the portions denoted by the same reference numerals as those in FIG. 4 represent the same components.
[0021]
As shown in FIG. 1, in this embodiment, the axle 3 is suspended on the side rail 1 by one leaf spring 14 and an air spring 15 on each of the left and right sides. The axle 3 is coupled to the lower surface, and an air spring 15 is interposed between the upper surface of the intermediate portion in the longitudinal direction of each leaf spring 14 and the side rail 1.
[0022]
Here, the front end of the leaf spring 14 is wound upward to form an eye 16, and the eye 16 is rotatable with respect to a spring pin 18 mounted on a front bracket 17 on the side rail 1 side. The rear end of the leaf spring 14 is formed as an eye 19 wound downward, opposite to the front end, and the eye 19 is mounted on the rear bracket 20 on the side rail 1 side. The spring pin 21 is rotatably wound around the spring pin 21.
[0023]
Further, the rear portion of the leaf spring 14 rises while protruding rearward from the spring pin 21 (the pivot point of the rear end of the leaf spring 14 with respect to the side rail 1), and passes over the spring pin 21. The leaf spring 14 is formed so as to form a curved portion 14a that is folded back in a U-shape toward the front of the vehicle.
[0024]
Incidentally, reference numeral 22 in FIG. 1 denotes a bolt for fastening the air spring 15 and the leaf spring 14 to the axle 3, and the bracket 22 is attached to the axle 3 by the bolt 22 as in the case of FIG. The front end of the bracket 12 and the side rail 1 immediately above the bracket 12 are connected by a shock absorber 13.
[0025]
Thus, while the axle 3 is positioned by the leaf spring 14, the vertical load acting on the axle 3 is mainly supported by the air spring 15. The expansion and contraction in the front-rear direction due to the bowing of the spring 14 is absorbed by the rotation of the leaf spring 14 about the pivot point at the rear end of the leaf spring 14.
[0026]
More specifically, as shown in FIG. 2, when the leaf spring 14 extends in the front-rear direction, the rear end of the leaf spring 14 rotates so that the curved portion 14a tilts rearward of the vehicle. Also, as shown in FIG. 3, when the leaf spring 14 contracts in the front-rear direction, the rear end of the leaf spring 14 rotates so that the curved portion 14a rises upward, so that the leaf spring 14 contracts. Is absorbed.
[0027]
At this time, a situation where the bending portion 14a itself is largely bent and deformed does not occur, and only a gentle deformation occurs in a rear portion from the support position of the axle 3 of the leaf spring 14 to the bending portion 14a. Thus, the stress acting on the leaf spring 14 due to the dispersion and absorption is reduced.
[0028]
Also, the formation of the curved portion 14a increases the development length of the rear portion of the leaf spring 14, and furthermore, the thickness of the rear portion is made thinner than that of the front portion so as to make it easier to bend. Is also reduced.
[0029]
As a result, the expansion and contraction of the leaf spring 14 in the front-rear direction can be absorbed without any trouble. As a result, the rear end of the leaf spring 14 does not need to be attached to the side rail 1 via the shackle. Since the related parts are not required, the number of parts can be reduced, and the cost can be significantly reduced as compared with the related art.
[0030]
Further, since the stress acting on the leaf spring 14 can be reduced by gently deforming the rear portion of the leaf spring 14, the durability of the leaf spring 14 can be remarkably improved. Since the spring constant of the spring 14 can be reduced, the riding comfort can be significantly improved.
[0031]
Note that the suspension device of the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and when forming the sheet thickness of the rear portion of the leaf spring to be thinner than that of the front portion, it is preferable to use a single leaf spring as shown in the illustrated example. It can be dealt with simply by changing the plate thickness, or a suitable number of sub-leaf springs can be applied only to the front part of one leaf spring with a relatively small change in the plate thickness (including those with no change in the plate thickness). It is needless to say that various modifications may be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
[0032]
【The invention's effect】
According to the suspension device of the present invention described above, various excellent effects as described below can be obtained.
[0033]
(I) Since the rear end of the leaf spring does not need to be attached to the side rail via the shackle, the number of parts can be reduced by eliminating the need for the shackle and related parts, thereby greatly reducing the cost of the suspension device. Can be planned.
[0034]
(II) As the rear portion of the leaf spring is gently deformed, the stress is dispersed and absorbed over a wide range, so that it is possible to reduce the stress acting on the leaf spring, thereby improving the durability of the leaf spring. Can be significantly improved.
[0035]
(III) Due to the formation of the curved portion, the deployed length of the rear portion of the leaf spring is increased, and the thickness of the rear portion is made thinner than that of the front portion so as to be easily bent, so that the spring constant of the leaf spring is reduced. Therefore, the riding comfort of the vehicle can be greatly improved.
