での液拡散能力が低かった。 【解決手段】 不織布などで形成された液吸収層3の表
面に第1層5の樹脂を溶融押出しでラミネートし、その
後に第2層6の樹脂を溶融押出しでラミネートして合成
樹脂フィルム4を形成し、この合成樹脂フィルム4に開
孔7を形成する。ラミネートで形成された第1層5と液
吸収層3は、その界面での密着性が優れ、前記界面が液
を周囲に拡散する機能を発揮する。よって合成樹脂フィ
ルム4の表面の液を迅速に吸収できる。

で刺して、針で刺した部分の合成樹脂を溶かしてフィル
ムに孔を形成すると共に、孔の周囲の溶けた樹脂を液吸
収層に接着している。また、特開平9−86569号公
報に記載のものは、合成樹脂で形成された網体が液吸収
層に熱融着されている。
成樹脂フィルムと液吸収層とが樹脂系接着剤で接着され
たものは、接着剤の塗布行程が必要となって製造コスト
が高くなる。また接着剤が多すぎると液吸収層に接着剤
が浸透して液吸収層内での液の拡散が遅くなる。また接
着剤が少なすぎると、合成樹脂フィルムと液吸収層との
界面との接合が不十分となり前記界面に隙間が生じやす
い。前記隙間が形成されると、合成樹脂フィルムと液吸
収層との界面での液の拡散性が低下する。前記界面での
液の拡散性が低下すると、液吸収層全体での液吸収速度
が低下し、樹脂フィルム表面にドリップが残りやすくな
る。

は、パルプなどの天然セルロース繊維や、再生セルロー
ス繊維などの親水性繊維で形成された不織布、または前
記親水性繊維と前記親水処理された複合合成繊維とで形
成された不織布である。不織布の形態は、前記エアース
ルー方式の他に、スパンボンド、エアレイド、スパンレ
ースなどであってもよい。

図4に示すように、液吸収層3が連続して供給され、こ
の液吸収層3上に第1のラミネート行程Aで、第1層5
が形成され、さらに第2のラミネート行程Bで、前記第
1層5の上に第2層6が形成される。

第2層6の樹脂の方が樹脂密度が高くなるように組み合
わせることが好ましい。

あり、第2層6の膜厚が5〜50μm程度であることが
好ましい。また合成樹脂フィルム4全体の膜厚は、6〜
80μmの範囲が好ましく、さらに好ましくは10〜8
0μmである。

の低下を抑制することができる。また、第1層5を薄く
することで、液吸収層3に多くの樹脂が混入するのを防
止でき、液吸収能力の低下を抑制できる。

厚を厚くできて、白色化した合成樹脂フィルム4により
液吸収層3に吸収された血液などのドリップの色を隠蔽
する効果を高めることができる。また合成樹脂フィルム
4全体の膜厚を確保することで、液吸収体1の全体の剛
性を高くできる。さらに薄い膜厚の第1層5で液吸収層
3の表面の繊維の凹凸を潰し、さらにその上に厚い膜厚
の第2層6を形成することで、第2層6の表面を平滑に
できる。

ィルムの表面を平滑にするためには、合成樹脂フィルム
4のの合計厚みを少なくとも6μm以上、好ましくは1
0μm以上にすることが必要である。ただし、1回の溶
融押出し行程で6〜10μm以上の厚さの樹脂フィルム
をラミネートすると、液吸収層3に多くの樹脂が入り込
んで液吸収層3の液吸収能力が低下し、また加熱された
樹脂が繊維間に多く入り込むことで、液吸収層3の嵩が
低下し、これによっても液吸収能力が低下する。この場
合、液吸収層3を必要以上に厚いものとしなくてはなら
なくなり、コスト高になる。

入量を減らすことができ、比較的嵩の低い液吸収層3の
上に、10μm以上の厚さの合成樹脂フィルム4を形成
できるようになる。

ため、液吸収層3の嵩を維持しやすい。

ミネートするときに、第1層5の溶融樹脂の酸化基と、
液吸収層3の繊維の極性基とが分子レベルで反応して化

吸収層3と合成樹脂フィルム4との界面が混合領域8で
均一に接合され、しかもこの混合領域8には無駄な空隙
が形成されず、繊維と樹脂とが混合して、その下の液吸
収層3よりも樹脂密度が高くなる。そのため、この混合
領域8が液の浸透拡散を促進する層として機能できるよ
うになる。

は、液吸収層3と合成樹脂フィルム4との界面の混合領
域8により急速に拡散させられる。この拡散力により、
合成樹脂フィルム4の表面のドリップが急速に吸引さ
れ、短時間で合成樹脂フィルム4の表面のドリップ残り
がなくなる。
拡散することにより、液吸収層3の厚みがさほど厚くな
くても、合成樹脂フィルム4の表面の液を迅速に吸収す
ることができる。前記混合領域8で液を急速に拡散でき
る理由は、以下の通りであると考えられる。

トし、1層構造の合成樹脂フィルムを形成した。また開
孔7は実施例1と同じにした。

た。

液吸収層と前記樹脂フィルムとを、ホットメルト型接着
剤でポイント接着し、前記樹脂フィルムに実施例1と同
じ開孔を形成したものを比較例2とした。
比較例2を80×65mmの四辺形に切断し、それぞれ
の表面に、着色した生理食塩水を1cc滴下して、1分
経過後に、液吸収層3での拡散範囲の縦横寸法を計測し
た。その結果を表1に示す。
ムをラミネートしていない比較例1(嵩0.799m
m)に対し、合成樹脂フィルム4を2層でラミネートし
た実施例1と、単層でラミネートした実施例2の嵩をそ
れぞれ比較した。また実施例1と実施例2の保水量
(0.9%濃度の生理食塩水)を比較した。結果を表2
に示す。

Claims (6)
- 【請求項1】 親水処理された合成繊維および/または
親水性繊維で形成された液吸収層と、液吸収層の表面に
接合された多数の貫通部を有する合成樹脂フィルムとを
有する液吸収体において、 前記合成樹脂フィルムは、前記液吸収層の表面に溶融押
出しラミネートされたものであり、前記液吸収層と前記
合成樹脂フィルムとが密着していることを特徴とする液
吸収体。 - 【請求項2】 前記液吸収層と前記合成樹脂フィルムと
の境界部分では、前記合成樹脂フィルムが前記液吸収層
内に介入している請求項1記載の液吸収体。 - 【請求項3】 前記合成樹脂フィルムは、少なくとも前
記液吸収層の表面に溶融押出しラミネートされた第1層
と、前記第1層の表面に溶融押出しラミネートされた第
2層とを有する請求項1または2記載の液吸収体。 - 【請求項4】 前記第1層よりも前記第2層の膜厚が大
きい請求項3記載の液吸収体。 - 【請求項5】 前記第1層の膜厚が1〜30μmで、前
記第2層の膜厚が5〜50μmであり、合成樹脂フィル
ムの合計膜厚が6μm以上である請求項3記載の液吸収
体。 - 【請求項6】 前記液吸収層は、前記合成樹脂フィルム
との境界部分の密度が、それ以外の領域の密度よりも高
い請求項1ないし5のいずれかに記載の液吸収体。
