Abstract

1442573 Changepeed gear IRO AB 19 April 1974 [30 April 1973 31 Dec 1973] 17306/74 Heading F2D [Also in Division D1] The storage drum of a thread feeder for a textile machine (see Division D1) is rotated by means of a drive shaft 18 on which are mounted two pulleys 19, 20 respectively engageable with driving belts 2, 3 travelling at different speeds, the pulley 19 being rotationally rigid with the shaft for driving the latter while the pulley 20 is an idler pulley, both pulleys being axially removable from the shaft and interchangeable in position thereon so that the pulley 19 may engage either driving belt to change the speed of the shaft. The pulleys may be removable as a single, invertable, unit. The driven pulley or unit of two pulleys may be replaced by a drive pulley/unit having a different diameter/a drive pulley of different diameter. A plurality of feeders may be mounted round, e.g. a knitting machine with groups of the feeders having drive pulleys of different diameters, the drive and idler pulleys of the respective feeders engaging two endless belts driven by separate electric motors through variable diameter drive wheels.
