Abstract

1413652 Beams CONDER INTERNATIONAL Ltd 7 Nov 1972 [17 Nov 1971] 53344/71 Heading E1K A beam comprises longitudinal load-bearing members 1, 2 formed of strip metal and interconnected by braces 3. edge zones of the members having flanges 6' which are connected to integral lips 6, the lips being parallel to but off-set from said edge zones and the lips being suitable to retentively engage the edges of panels 7 to conceal the braces 3. A gap 4 between the two lower members 2 permits the beam to be used for air conditioning or for hanging light-fittings 14. The beam supports roof purlins 9 and ceiling panels 10 may be secured in place by members 11 or 13 or by rebates 12. Packing 8 may be placed beneath the panels 7 which may be of plasterboard, plastics or glass or sound or fire insulation. [GB1413652A]
