[Also in Division B6] A device for wetting a printed gummed tape comprises a liquid tank 21 containing a wetting brush 29 or a wick of absorbent material, a drain tank 25, and a plurality of rollers 24 journalled in a removable cover 22 and adapted to guide and support the printed tape before wetting. The ink applied by a printing cylinder 14 dries during passage of the tape over rollers 16, 18, 19, 20 located around the tape reel and the tape is guided from the roller 20 by a curved projection 26 on the tank cover 22. Glue or other adhesive removed from the tape by the brush 29 runs downwardly in solution and is diverted by a curved wall 48 into the drain tank 25. A flat member 31 mounted on the cover is provided with a serrated edge to facilitate tearing of the tape. The tank 21 is mounted in a slidable manner and may be easily removed to provide access to the printing unit.
