1337429 Web coating apparatus J M VOITH GmbH 12 Nov 1970 26573/73 Divided out of 1337428 Heading D1L [Also in Division B2] Apparatus for coating a web comprises an applicator roller 1 with a nozzle applicator 2 located adjacent thereto and extending along the applicator roller. A doctor blade 3 being provided to meter the coating material on the surface of the roller and excess material from the nozzle passing over the lip 4 to be collected for reuse. The bailing element may be a band 7 adjustable in tension by a roller 10, a bailing roller or an air jet. The applicator roller is driven at a lower peripheral speed than the linear velocity of the web to be coated.
