Headings F1B and F1N. The arrangement of the parent Specification is applied to multi-cylinder-single-crank compressors having their cylinders arranged in coplanar V, Y or radial formation. The overhung crankshaft 3 engages the main connecting-rod 7 which supports a further connecting-rod 9. The rod 9 is supported by a pin 10 in the fork 8, which pin, together with the crankshaft 3, is restrained from axial movement by the bearing plate 12 held in position by a bolt 14 and dowel 16. The bearing 12 may be cast with the casing 1.
