An electric cable connector in which all the cores of the cable, with the exception of the earth core, are connected each to a contact, e.g. socket 9, has the contacts located in a mass of rigid insulating material 10, e.g. cured phenolic resin, having fitted round it a metal sleeve 12 connected via metal sleeve 21 and rings 16 and 19 (Fig. 3) to the earth core 3 of the cable, all the free space within the connector being filled with a flexible non-porous insulating material 28, e.g. a rubber compound which also extends partly along the sheath 5 and is sealed, e.g. vulcanized, to it. The power cores are screened by a series of copper wires 4 which are clamped between rings 16 and 19. Any spaces, such as 11, between each contact and the resin mass or 13, between the sleeve and the resin mass, are of such dimensions that a spark can not pass along them. The rubber compound fills the second and third sleeves 21 and 27 and ensures that no moisture can pass along the cores of the cable to any of the electrical connections. A projection 25 and a recess 26 are formed on sleeve 21 so as to mate with correspondingly shaped parts on a plug connector. The non- porous material when set is flexible enough to allow bending of the cable relative to the connector, and the rigid insulating material is such that it offers firm support to the metal sleeve. The earthed screening wires or shield may take any form since in all cases the shield can be clamped between rings 16 and 19 to provide earth continuity.
