Abstract
882,487. Sleeve couplings. HELLERMANN Ltd. May 8, 1959 [May 13, 1958], No. 15299/58. Class 38 (1). An insulated cable is electrically connected to a terminal or connector comprising three concentric sleeves, an inner conducting sleeve 1 which receives the bared ends 7 of the conductor 8 of the cable, an insulating sleeve 2 surrounding the end of the insulation of the cable and a copper shell 3 passing under the end of the screening 5 of the cable. A ferrule 4 is pushed over the screening 5 and shell 3 and the assembly is placed in a press tool whereby the electrically conducting parts are forced together. The connector may be used to connect two waterproof cables. Specification 820,030 is referred to.
