Abstract

956,596. Roller applicators; cleaning carpets. PRESTIGE GROUP Ltd., and H. HORNER. June 7, 1962 [April 20, 1961], No. 14390/61. Headings A4F and A4K. In a known type of foam applicator for cleaning carpets, the sponge roller 19 is journalled in slots 18 so that, on dragging the applicator backwards towards the operator, the roller is displaced and flange 25 bites into it to prevent rotation. The roller 19 rotates freely when the applicator is moved forwardly. Tank 10 is of polystyrene and roller 19 is of foamed polyurethane mounted on a polythene shaft. The brushes 23 are assembled into a detachable rectangular frame (Fig. 1, not shown) which also carries flanged bar 25. According to the Provisional Specification, the bar may be clipped to the brush. A spray nozzle, as in Specification 935,506, is provided.
