Abstract

952,790. Thread-severing devices. SPINNER OSAKEYHTIO. Feb. 27, 1962 [April 14, 1961], No. 7541/62. Headings DID and DIF. A device for use e.g. in a doubling machine, for severing, when one thread is broken, the remaining threads of the number passing to a rising device, comprises a ring 12 in which all the threads converge which is held in position according to the tension and angle of incidence of the threads, which ring moves laterally when one thread is broken so that the other threads are brought into contact with a cutting blade 10,11. The threads are drawn from bobbins 2,3 on a frame 1 over thread-brakes 6, 7 which tension the threads equally. The ring is free to move on a bar 9 which may have a notch lightly holding the ring and the blades, which are above or below the ring, are inclined to the line of travel of the threads. When an odd number of threads is used they enter the ring asymmetrically. The ring may be fixed to the bar which is then movably mounted.
