Abstract

939,536. Crates. BONALLACK & SONS Ltd. March 5, 1962 [March 3, 1961], No. 7811/61. Class 18. [Also in Group XXX] A collapsible crate has sides 5, 6, 7, 8 foldable inwards on to a base 4, and a lid (not shown) which will wholly enclose the crate when in its collapsed condition, the sides being attached to the base by hinges set at progressively different heights above the base. Side 6 is hinged to the upper edge of a further hinged member 6b attached to the base to form a loading ramp, and has inwardly foldable supporting feet 14. Three transverse rails 10 provide feet raising the crate for access of a fork lift truck, and the ends of the rails have lifting eyelets 11. Means 12 secure the lid to the case when it is collapsed. A tie rod 13 retains the side walls 7, 8 in position while the wall 6 is being used as a ramp. Air vents 19 are provided.
